It's US success is mind-blowing though. It's E.T./Rolling in the Deep all over again.

But bigger, and that's with barely any promo, unlike promo Queek Katy.

Reggie said earlier that Carly sold 2 to 1 of Justin Bieber.
Bieber's song is his most tolerable to date but that says absolutely nothing, it's still awful.
Carly Rae Jepson's song is so 2001/2002/2003 but I guess 2001 is back in vogue! I love it, its cute, its catchy and its innocent.

HEY, I JUST MET YOU AND THIS IS CRAZY...

BUT HERE'S MY NUMBER SO CALL ME MAYBE!

Congratulations again Carly!! :party2:

Usher and Justin too. It's like we've been transported back in time!

We Are Young was first featured on Glee, then an advert on the Superbowl, which is watched by most of the country probably, and is now #1 on airplay. So it's had a fair bit of promo. :P

E.T. spent 20 weeks in the top 10, which I actually think We Are Young will beat, but they started off similar in success, so it was the original comparison everybody was making.

You should check out "Express Yourself", it's his new single. So good!

I'll check that out! :D I also just read he produced End of Time, so he has 2 songs in the top 40. And he also produced Beat of My Drum by Nicola Roberts apparently! :o I always thought it sounded a bit like Run the World, I guess that's why.

Id say Justin is more 05/06/07. When timbaland was at his reign.

I wouldn't call Glee and a superbowl commercial that continuously airs "barely any promo" :P

No electro-pop in the top 4! :o

There wasn't that much in the chart as a whole actually! Especially at the beginning, I think Sorry For Party Rocking was the first one.

And some of them like Greyhound, Level Up and Hot Right Now I can tolerate, as I think they're very impressive songs (probably because of Swedish House Mafia, Flux Pavillion and DJ Fresh ).

Even though it is probably the best way of promotion, I wouldn't count AirPlay. When I say that it has little to no promotion I was referring more to it not being performed by Fun. Themselves (except once).

Yeah I suppose. I remember Katy and Kanye doing at least one high profile performance (American Idol or something?), and they probably did others too.

Adele’s ‘21’ which climbs back up yet again, rising 2 places after no less than 64 weeks in the chart and clocking up a 22nd week at number 1. Sadly, radio 1 listeners heard this news rather negatively from Reggie Yates, who having spent 5 years presenting the Radio 1 Chart Show unprofessionally and constantly displaying his disinterest in the chart by expressing personal opinions, making constant errors and giving little to no information about the songs and acts in the chart; this week has (in my opinion) reached an all time low; his attitude towards Adele’s ‘21’, the best selling album of the century can only be described as appalling, unprofessional and disrespectful:

“I’m not even gonna play it, I’m not even gonna play it; Adele, album, twen…. I can’t even believe I need to look at my script (he has a script?), twenty one is number 1 again, right, if you’re buying the album twenty one still, after it’s been around for so long, have a look at yourself in the mirror and think, surely I’ve heard every song from this album played on the radio, I don’t need to own this album, now Adele, I’m not trying to stop money from going into your pocket, but man! Does it really need to be the number 1 record again? Moving on…”

Oh how I miss the days of Mark Goodier, a talented professional DJ presenting a REAL chart show. I am writing a(nother) formal complaint to the BBC and urge you to do the same.

The bit in bold, I disagree with personally. He DOES give information about songs sometimes. Yes, maybe some people don't want to hear information about Chipmunk and Sean Paul, and they want to live in their own little fantasty world where they think they're irrelevent and that nobody cares about them, and people are angry he doesn't talk about Lady Gaga more, but he does give some information imo, if people can put their own personal preferences aside for like, 1 second and recognize that. Not to mention, he doesn't have much time in the first 2 hours of the show left to do that now.

But otherwize I agree. It was quite an over the top meltdown. It personally really annoyed me when he used to criticize Ridin' Solo every week, which was one of my favourite songs, so I can see why it was't appropriate to say those things about 21.

It was very over the top, I agree. If I was Adele I would be very annoyed by his 'meltdown' and would be having words with the BBC. I just want her to get #1 again next week to annoy Reggie now! (Although I want her to anyway).
