April 20, 201213 yr Author Thanks SKOB! So basically there have been 2 weeks of sales figures reported after your list. Adele has sold about 150K + 90K taking her grand total upto about 2.9mil now, and 1D are probably around 430K or so. I'm thinking 1D will eventually make it to about 2mil at the end of the year with the tour and stuff. Will be amazing if the top 2 best sellers of 2012 are British!
April 20, 201213 yr Yea, 1D is perhaps #5 followed by Madonna and Adele's 19. Then Lionel Richie is now in top 10. But it's too early to say anything about the rest of the year except Adele will probably be #1 in Deceber as well. Edited April 20, 201213 yr by SKOB
April 20, 201213 yr Yea, 1D is perhaps #5 followed by Madonna and Adele's 19. Madonna sold 427 k and 1D 437 k Drake sold in last 2 weeks 31 k, so he's very close to 1D, and Adele 38k so she is definitely under 1D Edited April 20, 201213 yr by Tommy
April 20, 201213 yr Author I wonder how much of "19" Adele will sell in 2012? Has that concert DVD ever been played on US TV?
April 20, 201213 yr But it's too early to say anything about the rest of the year except Adele will probably be #1 in Deceber as well. The only way 21 isn't no. 1 in December is if Adele releases another album  BTW that hasn't happened since Thriller topped the 1983 and 1984 album charts. And before that you had to go back to 1962-3. Pretty remarkable.
April 24, 201213 yr Author Adele sells close to 90K copies this week and 1D about 55K... so hopefully they are both close to the 3mil and 500K mark resp.

May 1, 201213 yr Author Even if she doesn't do serious promo, they should air that Royal Albert Hall DVD 2 times (one in summer, one over Thanksgiving) and that can easily get her another half a mil easy peasy. She may end the year with 5mil (so about as much as the 5.8mil she sold in 2011).
May 3, 201213 yr Get real Adele would never do promo or videos, she's trying to keep a certain aura and not become over commercialized like Lady Gaga who appeared on every worldwide tv promoting her last 2 singles yet they didn't do that well worldwide....

May 9, 201213 yr Seriously thank god for Adele. If she wasn't there album sales for 2011 an 2012 would look so dire. Just over 5 months into the year and only one album has sold over a million stateside. So sad to see this.
May 9, 201213 yr Whoever would have thought that Lionel Richie would have the best selling studio album released in 2012....
May 9, 201213 yr http://www.dingsme.info/avatar13.jpgSo basically there have been 2 weeks of sales figures reported after your list.
