Don't Tell Me, WIFLFAG, American Life and Hollywood AGOG!

I'm going to crack open a soy latté right now.

All horrible or average at best to my ears, I couldn't have cared any less about the Music and American Life eras. WIFLFAG is one I've especially never seen the fuss over, great video, dull song.

Unpopular opinions I know but that's the name of the thread!

I quite hate 'Music' actually.

Everything she released after '4 Minutes' was pretty much SHIT. And 'MDNA' is a complete new low.

People who download songs illegally should pay for them and don't complain about how bad it's doing in the charts when they haven't even paid for it but yet download it for free.

Hmmm...

'Give It 2 Me' stands up as a classic Madonna song (the only song on Hard Candy I could say that about)

'I Love New York' is marvellous, and one of the highlights on Confessions (I am aware some of the lyrics are cringe, though)

'Like A Prayer' (the song) isn't quite the second coming it's made out to be (but I have nothing against it)

The very thought of anything Evita related makes me want to vomit (I'm not sure about the general opinion of Evita, I just thought I'd throw that out there)

Singleswise, Erotica was one of her best eras.

'Me Against The Music' is an abomination.

'Hung Up' is very overrated, it relies too much on its sample and it was just a briefly addictive song before it got old fast.

I'll think of more later.

I love GGW

Hate 4 minutes

Vogue is very overrated, True Blue and LAP albums too

Hung Up IS her best song

'Me Against The Music' is an abomination.

Yes.

It's looned over something chronic on BJ whenever it appears on rates or whatever but it's really not all that. I was expecting FAR more from a collaboration of such a high calibre.

Exactly. However, I have to give it some credit for giving birth to THIS:

'Me Against The Music' is an abomination.

I thought that most people thought it was awful, though? I like it, however! :D

I think that the re-invention tour is by far her weakest!
Yes.

I sort of agree, I do like it but it's nothing special.

This is probably literal blaspheme on Buzzjack but I'd rather listen to the Glee version (as a Brittana loon)! It's just not all anything majorly special for a duet between two of THE biggest stars ever.

OMG I didn't know there exist Me Against The Music haters! :o It pretty much DEFINES 2003 for me! :drama:

It is truly everything I could ever ask for from a Britney song. Amazing.

I did dismiss it as tuneless crap when I first heard it on the radio though. Nowadays I would KILL for something that fresh from Britney. In The Zone was her pinnacle.

'Me Against The Music' is, on paper, an utterly dreadful song but it just WORKS for some reason. Madonna's sections are pretty dire* though, I can only imagine how embarrassed long time fans felt at the time given she hadn't really been off the boil (creatively) at all up to the point.

I agree - I can certainly understand why people would rather gouge their eyeballs out, but I find it a really great song, quite similar to I Love New York (the opinion, that is, not the actual songs sounding similar)! :P

I hate Material Girl.

Hung Up is her most overrated song.

Nothing Fails pisses all over Love Profusion.

La Isla Bonita is her best #1.

Die Another Day isn't her best video.

Till Death Do Us Part is my favourite Madonna song ever!

Girl Gone Wild should've included Britney.

I can't listen to Hung Up nowadays.

Beat Goes On should've been a single.

I'd say the final one in each of those last posts are quite widely held opinions. I don't think I've ever seen anyone call DAD her best video at any rate.

Yeah, best =/= most expensive and I've rarely encountered anybody who prefers (awful AWFUL) Love Profusion to Nothing Fails.

The Power of Good-bye is her greatest ever single.

Everything after the conclusion of the rap interlude on American Life that she's released is inessential (though Hung Up is incredibly fun 4 europe)

The rap interlude on American Life is one of the greatest things she's ever done.

Take A Bow is a supreme moment of beauty.

Everything she released before Live To Tell was completely inessential. Even Like A Virgin.
