I'm guessing it's a factor of the Scandipop blog becoming more and more popular with each contest. We're going to have to start vetoing everything from there soon :kink:

I guess it's no coincidence that I've halted sending Scandinavian acts these days, I HATE fighting for entries, or thinking that loads of people might know my entry beforehand

There are already a good 5-10 songs that I'm expecting to see in the next contest, most of them have featured on Scandipop.

I have an entry - and it's a Swedish female :o

I hope its not the same as my Swedish female!

Can I just add that when I confirmed Ida 'I Can Be', I had no idea that this had been reviewed on that Scandipop website. :o

I have occasionally checked out the blog but probably once every 5/6 weeks.

Still can't understand why so many wanted to confirm that Britt Love song last year. It didn't sound like anything special to me and these overhyped tracks usually end up being an anti climax to me.

I highly doubt it will be :P

I know, I thought that too. But you never know! :kink:

I try and avoid sending things from Scandipop too, Frida is the only entry I've discovered through there. All of my other entries bar Adam Tyler have come from the same blog though (it's pretty amazing).
Well I discovered it not on this Scandipop website so I'm clear of that :D
Problem is, I think, that people need to be able to 'discover' great songs before they can send them and I guess most people use these kind of blogs to mine for BJSC hits.

^Well, if everyone's using it, then the mine would be depleted, somewhat? I enjoy going off the beaten track and seeing what I can find.

I think only one of my entries, Emmon, has come from Scandipop and that wasn't a fresh post either. Besides, I don't normally find things that are THAT good on there, or if I do, I've normally discovered it without their help.

This is how I steer clear of confirmation battles, guys. Let's just ignore that it doesn't normally equal success

I do have a Scandinavian song in my back up list that hasn't been posted on scandipop yet surprisingly. let's ignore the fact I discovered Ask Embla on Scandipop
wouldn't it be best to send a non scandi song so yours stands out? o.O anyone else want to help me decide between 3 songs? :D

I too try and avoid Scandipop, the only entry so far I've gotten from there is The Charlies, also Nabiha ended up on there a day or two after I saw it. This contest will yield my 2nd entry from Scandipop so far! I do always look on Scandipop but I generally tend to see songs from Scandipop that I'm considering in these big confirmation battles, so I back off and don't bother.

Why do I get the feeling you're after the same person as like, 5 others of us?

Both of my entries so far have been found on a very popular music news website :D of my two experiences of this, Scandipop songs (the genre) tend to blend into one another because so many people send them, I haven't felt the need to send one yet
I don't really KNOW any other blogs that are mainly based on pop, so yeah, I do get most of my entries from Scandipop.
Quite frankly whomever is refreshing the page every 30 seconds in order to get Rebecca Stella (oh yeah, I said it!) Is giving so much effort to this, maybe they deserve to have that entry

lots of people want to send a song from Scandipop :o that's why I said anything appears on SP is a bit cheap/uninspired for me. -_-

all Scandinavian entries from me:

M. Picasso - flop

E. Carew - flop

Sibel - flop

Samsaya - hit

Fallulah - hit

Gravitonas - flop

Gabrielle - hit

Eric Saade - flop

37,5% hit, so I go for a German one now :kink:

I think only Gravitonas and Gabrielle were on SP but I already knew them before.

I'm not after that song, I would've given up on it :P
