Posted May 2, 201213 yr MntbN1DdEP0 The video for Addicted to You, the latest single from Sale El Sol, just came out today so I thought it would be a good opportunity to get a Shakira thread going on Buzzjack again! I'm guessing this is just to tide things over until her new album comes out later this year. She's been in the studio with Sia, Afrojack, LMFAO and Akon. She's also got a song on Pitbull's new album called Get It Started, which is scheduled to be the second single. Apparently, her new management, Roc Nation, are trying to time things just right in the run up to this new album. This is good news because Shakira's always been known to have pretty terrible promotional strategies, with big waits for performances, video releases and album releases.
May 2, 201213 yr She also has a track called Reach for the Skies on will.i.am's new record. Can't wait for new Shakira. Aside from 3/4 tracks Sale el Sol was a disappointment but She Wolf remains triumphant and still sounds ridiculously fresh.
May 2, 201213 yr I hope it goes well this era. The She Wolf Era was a disaster!! IDK who thought it was a good idea to postpone the release and release it on the back of that awful timbaland song!
May 2, 201213 yr Sale El Sol was quite good, although nowadays I only really have time for Rabiosa, Loca (she literally threw away a UK number1), Sale El Sol and Islands (which is NOTHING on the majestic original anyway). She Wolf was a masterpiece though, anything of that quality and I'm in! Sia + Shakira should = amazing anyhow.
May 2, 201213 yr I literally forgot 'Loca' even happened until this thread. Silly girl or rather management for throwing away a potentially big UK hit, same case with Mariah's 'Obsessed'. Hoping she can bring the goods back this time, when she's good she can be amazing.
May 2, 201213 yr Give me Oral Fixation. vol2 any day! Such an incredible album, How Do You Do?, Animal City, Timor, Costume Makes The Clown, etc. Amazing material on there.
May 2, 201213 yr I'm kinda glad we're pretending Sale El Sol never happened over here. Devoción is the only good song on there (Loca was always awful) + it felt like such a step back from She Wolf. More of that please.
May 3, 201213 yr I didn't know Addicted to You but it sounds good. Does she really need to work with Afrojack, LMFAO and Pitbull though? She Wolf was a good album but going by the names it sounds like this is gonna be more of a trashy club banger than that one. Oral Fixation had some of her best songs on it. I especially loved 'The Day and the Time', 'Dreams for Plans' and 'Something'.
May 3, 201213 yr It's a good track, it's good that her record company are taking their time with the new album.
May 4, 201213 yr Author She's also been working with Ester Dean and Billboard for the new album. I'm usually very open to Shakira working with current producers compared to other fans (who usually just want her to do DELL part 2), but I admit, I'm a little worried about some of the people she's working with this time. LMFAO are really the epitome of what's wrong with music today. I will reserve judgement though and hope she can come up with something fresh. I've got a feeling she's going to go down a moombahton route with this album which would be interesting. There's also rumours she's working with Skrillex. They're both in Barcelona at the moment. And Shakira's obviously a fan - check out this vid: nnjba-kP4Kc

May 5, 201213 yr I agree with Vidcapper! Kill me now! Laundry Service is a fucking unbelievable OPUS. Just so so good. Will never be matched.
May 20, 201213 yr Does anyone know what even HAPPENED to Loca in the UK? Surely a song featuring Dizzee Rascal was a surefire recipe for success designed 110% for the UK singles market? :o I saw the video on TV a few times too... Leaves me with little hope on what will happen for the next era considering she barely bothered (or her label, should I say?) when Waka Waka was released. Even though that seems to be quickly growing into a modern classic and I'd probably say it's her third most recognisable hit these days! (Behind Whenever, Wherever and Hips Don't Lie naturally. :P) Was massive throughout the rest of Europe though...
June 25, 201213 yr Author Pitbull feat. Shakira - Get It Started OS887NoBAOI I'm not a fan. It's just so nondescript. I'm hoping this is just her playing the game and that her actual album will be much more interesting.
