Posted May 4, 201213 yr THE BEST OF KYLIE MINOGUE, ALBUM RELEASED THROUGH EMI ON JUNE 4 EMI Catalogue will release ‘The Best of Kylie Minogue’ on June 4th. The album features 21 of the best known Kylie songs from her incredible 25-year career, on one disc. The tracks were chosen by the fans through extensive market research conducted by EMI late last year. 18 of the tracks were top 5 in the UK, including 5 number 1’s ! A Special Edition CD/DVD will also be made available, with the DVD featuring all the accompanying videos. Kylie’s first single, “Locomotion” (later re-titled by Pete Waterman as The Loco-Motion”) was released on 28th July 1987 . . . 25 years ago this July! She is celebrating this milestone throughout the year with an eclectic program of musical releases, performances, collaborations, publications, merchandise, film and other surprises. She recently headlined The Mardi Gras in Sydney before immediately embarking upon her bold and much anticipated Anti Tour. Next month sees her performing for the Queen’s Jubilee in front of Buckingham Palace and later headlining Proms in the Park, followed by a continuing series of surprises, world-wide. May 4, 201213 yr Surely it should be 25 tracks, since its the 25 anniversary? I *might* buy it, but I would have wanted new tracks on the album. I guess the idea of allowing fans choose the songs is good.

May 4, 201213 yr What a piece of crap, terrible set list of songs. At least have all the songs on if you are going to do this. Its a pointless release and prob the first thing of Kylie I wont be buying. So disappointed.

It offers nothing new and there are several of her popular hits missing like "got to be certain", "hand on your heart", "wouldnt change a thing", "what do I have to do"....I see this release as a complete and utter lack of effort by the record company and a pure cash in on 25 years.
May 4, 201213 yr I enjoy the fact that they put on Wow and In My Arms but left off the turd that is 2 Hearts (not that Wow is anything amazing). Pointless release, won't be buying and I can't imagine it will do very well. Oh well. Hopefully there's more to come.
May 4, 201213 yr Most. Disappointing. News. Ever. Not even one new song? Extremely poor effort. The only thing that will make up for this in my book is a brand new studio album by the end of the year. Unlikely. As for the song selection, well you can't please everyone, but I also love the fact that there's no 2 Hearts. Finally, an unofficial admission that it was a shocking lead album single (and a pointless Kiss Mauve cover). But God, yes, should have been 25 songs, hello no brainer!
May 5, 201213 yr I suppose 25 songs would have made it another two disc affair a la Ultimate Kylie and they were keen just to get a more concise one discer out this time. It's a decent enough tracklisting (What Do I Have To Do missing aside...), but there's nothing on it that none of us don't already have. A fan bonus disc of b-sides and rarities or something would have given more incentive to buy.

I'm 99% sure there will be at least another album - I very much doubt that one compilation album which features songs we have all heard before would be all that's released for Kylie's 25 years. There's the acoustic album, which is seems likely to happen.

I remember on tour last year she performed 'In My Arms', 'Wow' and 'The One'. :lol: It's quite obvious she wants to forget '2 Hearts' ever happened. I don't think I'll be buying this, really. It's utterly pointless, if it had some new songs it would have been a more worthwhile release...
May 5, 201213 yr It is a very disappointing release, again i agree it should be 25 years, 25 songs. As only 2 albums have been recorded since the last greatest hits i thought they would have out all the singles of x and Aphrodite on it, while im glad 2 hearts was left of i would have liked better than today on it. I wont be buying this just yet but i will probably give in some time down the road when it is selling cheap to keep the collection complete, i will admit i love the cover to the album though and think its far better than ultimate Kylie. What i don't get no is if kylie was recording a new video what was it for? I think if she even added a new song to the album it had something new to offer, i dont know i could be wrong but this album could very much struggle and be her first album to miss the top 10 since Lets Get To It.

May 6, 201213 yr The Voice performance...? That would be nice, no idea if it's gonna happen or even if the show will still be on around release of the album but it would certainly help sales, and they're gonna need all the help they can get!
