Nelly is one of those artists whose big hits were always completely listenable but looking back at it you wonder how he ever became such a star. "Dilemma" doesn't have anything on "Hot in Herre" or "Just a Dream", though.

It seems as if the three BEP singles from "The E.N.D." in the top 150 (how many other albums have three other than "Loud"?) are getting progressively worse. "Boom Boom Pow" is excellent but I never got the fuss for "Meet Me Halfway". The less said about the other one, the better.

A definition of a ballad can be a mid-tempo love song, it doesn't have to be songs like Someone Like You.

Meet Me Halfway can count as one aswell (funny how it came on just after I mentioned it ).

I'd classify a ballad as a down-tempo song, not a mid-tempo. But these things are always fuzzy anyway I suppose.

Anyway, J-Lo goes to BillyH and then I'LL be your host for an hour. :D

I love 'Meet Me Halfway', but for some reason I never remember it being as big as this chart placement suggests it is.

Its another song that was performed live on the XFactor and got a sales boost in the busiest sales period of the year. I agree it was nothing more than a average hit.

Didn't Dilemma get to #1 in the US as an album track? Or something like that I read once.

How would that have worked in the days of CD singles?

Every other female pop star should have just given up on the club bangers after "On The Floor" (I'm looking at you, Tulisa), really. It's a pretty faultless spin on the formula.

And my hour is up! Thanks everyone, twas very enjoyable  I'll hand you over to Mr Randomfurlong now, but I'll end with this anthem at #44!

44. Jennifer Lopez feat. Pitbull - ON THE FLOOR (2011) (#1)

Simply a defining 2011 tune for me, still hear it played today! Even if it does rip off the Lambada :P

Yes it did but it wasn't the only one. There were basically no singles sold at the time.

The first song ever to top the Hot 100 on airplay only was 'Try Again' by Aaliyah but even that one didn't have a record breaking airplay numbers.

I agree, although I'd push it to after Mr Saxobeat!

I think it charted from airplay only, or something like that?

EDIT: Just read what SKOB said.

Ruth Lorenzo!

You can't casually throw that out and expect people to recognise the name.....:kink:

LOL, You can go to the trouble of getting one of the contestants but not the right video?

Oh christ. "Hero" is bad but at least the original wasn't brilliant. "Heroes" on the other hand is ear rape on a near-"Run" level.
