Still not been added by Radio 1 this week, appears like they may snub it. Odd as I honestly thought they'd get right behind it (especially being a fairly big Worldwide hit). Of course it still could get added next week or even once its actually out. Would be a big shame if this isn't big, its even taking off in Ireland where its getting good airplay!

 

It appears on the TV rolling chart (#61) so its obviously getting TV exposure though I haven't seen it yet myself.

The UK release date has been pushed back to 2nd June 2013. I'm glad they have I think as otherwise it was going to miss the top 100 seeing as the pre-orders aren't even top 1500 at the moment, just a shame its another massive wait to download it! Massive summer hit please! :wub:

I think the label have realised thats its likely going to struggle once released. They are seeing thats its taking off the US (#35 on itunes there) plus its growing pop so it wouldn't surprise me if they think its wait a couple of months and then can promote the fact that its doing well in America etc.

I agree with Lee (gosh, what's happened to us Lee? :D ), they should've just released it and allowed the track to "do a Gotye". That way it'd build up momentum as the track grows in popularity and would be a big contender for biggest selling single of 2013.

 

At this rate it's going to do a "How We Do" instead. All this build up for 2 months, then it'll fizzle out like a faulty firework weeks after release. :(

I really think it stands a better chance in June, Radio 1 were refusing to playlist it on the initial time they tried with it so maybe they'll be more likely to get on board with it once it's a smash in the US.

As far as I'm aware, she is just backing vocals and the writer of the song. I don't think she has any lead vocals.

Its certainly having amazing success, it'll certainly go top 10 on the Hot 100, its still gaining on airplay too. I do hope this success will be enough to push it in the UK but I still fear it will get ignored here (hopefully I am wrong as I can still see this being huge here).

So the pre-order for this has now been taken down from UK iTunes, so there is no sign of a release in the near future. :( I've read that this song is also being used in a Samsung Galaxy advert that has been seen on ITV, so that would've been a great bit of promotion if it was still being released!

 

At least it is doing incredibly well in the US now though! :wub:

Smash Hits are using it in an advert, and the song played when I was out in Hoxton last night...to the complete indifference of the crowd who had no idea what it was :(

 

Are there any other major examples of a song being huge all over Europe, the US and Australia but not the UK?
