When I start my band, we're definitely doing a cover of Longpig's "She Said." It's such a fun song to sing.

Also, didn't think that Mothers Day was a religious festival. Learn something new every day.

Suedehead2 - In your Chart Commentary, you say that Coldplay have reached No.1

with their first 5 Studio Albums. Whilst this is true, they have not reached No.1 with their

first 5 Album Chart Hits. Their 'Live 2003' Album, only reached No.46 in 2008, & their

'Prospekt's March' EP, got no higher than No.38, in 2010.

Only 3 Acts have had 5, (or More), No.1 Albums out of their first Album Chart releases.

ACTS WITH 5 (OR MORE) No.1 ALBUMS OUT OF 5 (OR MORE) UK RELEASES

As far as I can see, (after extensive checking), Keane are only the 3rd Act to manage 5, (or more),

UK No.1 Albums, with their first UK releases. And are only the 2nd Group to achieve it.

1) THE BEATLES - They had UK No.1's with their first 7 Albums. (1963 to 1966).

The 'Run' was broken by, 'A Collection Of Beatle's Oldies', which 'only' got to No.7, in late 1966.

2) ROBBIE WILLIAMS - His Solo Career began with 5 No.1 Albums, from 1998 to 2002. Although

the first, ('Life Thru A Lens'), was a 1997 Album, it did not get to No.1 until 1998.

The 'Run' was broken when 'Live At Knebworth' got to No.2, in 2003.

3) KEANE - Their 5 No.1's out of 5 releases, are from 2004 to 2012. Their 4th No.1, was 2010's

'Night Train'. It was really an 8 Track EP, but - it was still a No.1 Hit in the Album Chart.

4) ARCTIC MONKEY's - If their 5th Album is a UK No.1, they too will have had 5 No.1 Albums out

of 5 releases. (So far, it is 4 out of 4 - from 2006 to 2011).

WHY SO FEW? - Because most Acts do not start their UK Hit Albums with a No.1. Many of those who

do manage a No.1, with their 1st Album, do not sustain their popularity long enough, to manage

4 more, from their 2nd to 5th releases. Hence why it is such a rare occurance....

Thanks for that. Of course, if you exclude the live album and Greatest Hits (which did get to number one), Robbie Williams got to number one with his first seven studio albums. The run ended when Reality Killed The Video Star "only" got to number two. Take That And Party only got to number two which prevents him constructing an even more impressive record if you add the Take That albums he performed on.

Similarly, Alex Turner is on five out of five if you include Last Shadow Puppets and exclude Submarine (a soundtrack album). Brandon Flowers is on four as long as you exclude Sawdust (b-sides etc.).

It's pretty contentious comparing Keane to other acts with long #1 streaks, because being consistent with counting or not counting non-studio album releases will count out either one or the other. You can't really say that both Keane and Coldplay started their careers off with 5 #1 albums because you're counting an irregular release for Keane but ignoring two for Coldplay; you can say that they both started off with 4 #1 STUDIO albums, but this devalues Keane's achievement somewhat as they've had five straight #1s.

The OCC regard the 'Night Train' EP as Keane's 4th No.1 Album, (as do I), because it was

No.1 in the UK Album Chart. There has not been a seperate Chart for EP's since 1967.

Some people are saying that 'Night Train' should not count as a No.1 Album, because

it is an EP. That's like saying that Erasure never had a UK No.1 Single, because their

only No.1 in the Singles Chart was an EP. ('ABBA-Esque', in 1992).

Had 'Prospekt's March', by Coldplay, been No.1 in the 2008 Album Chart, they would

be credited with 6 No.1 Albums - not 5. It only reached No.38, & with their 'Live 2003'

LP, only getting to No.46, that same Year, it means that Coldplay cannot be credited

with having 5 No.1 Albums in a row. Or No.1's with their first 5 Album Chart Hits.

The Beatles got their first 7 Album Chart Hits to No.1, & Robbie Williams & Keane,

did so with their first 5 Album Chart Hits. The fact that Keane's 2010 No.1, was an

EP, does not alter that fact.....
