May 20, 201213 yr Nah, it was released last Summer... So were "Somebody That I Used to Know" and "Titanium", but they're "2012 songs".
May 20, 201213 yr 2001, savage garden 'affirmation' trian 'drops of jupiter' 2004 maroon 5 'sunday morning'
May 20, 201213 yr So were "Somebody That I Used to Know" and "Titanium", but they're "2012 songs". "Midnight City" hasn't sold over 700k though. M83 has always been an albums artist and "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming" was released in October so for the majority of fans it'll be very much a 2011 song.
May 21, 201213 yr I'm poking my nose in here, but M83 is an automatic qualifier for 2011 anyway - so there's no debate to be had. Assuming Nick F1 keeps his nomination for Beverley Knight "Keep This Fire Burning" in 2005, could I change my nomination for it to Missy Elliott "Lose Control"? (assuming I haven't missed anyone else nominating it)
May 22, 201213 yr Ahhh I wish I saw this earlier so I could add Ashley Simpson - Outta My Head (Ay Ya Ya) for 2007 :(
May 22, 201213 yr Author You still can, I shall add it! So yes, Casey, you can nominate for any year whose round isn't up and will continue to be able to do so. I did consider moving Midnight City to 2012 as it reached the top 40 this year, but given it was pretty much the definitive indie song of 2011 (especially on here), it's hard to leave it back a year, it's not like '212', 'Somebody I Used To Know' and 'Titanium' which have gone on to become smash hits, and if ThisIsPop can put 'The Loving Kind' in 2008 rather than leaving it a year, I'd like think 'Midnight City' is far less contentious.
May 23, 201213 yr You still can, I shall add it! So yes, Casey, you can nominate for any year whose round isn't up and will continue to be able to do so. Thanks! In that case, if it's not too much trouble could you also add 'In My Arms' by Kylie Minogue for 2008 as well :)
