July 3, 201213 yr 2010 wasn't bad year in music but somehow one of the worst years regarding the number ones. Shame about f*** You as it did spend two weeks at #1. Edited July 3, 201213 yr by SKOB
July 3, 201213 yr If "f*** You" gets demoted in favour of "Just The Way You Are" and then "Grenade" loses a week to "Rolling In The Deep", this thread really does have terrible taste in Bruno Mars.
July 3, 201213 yr Something tells me that Black Eyed Peas' The Time (Dirty Bit) will be a non-number one, although with Willow Smith's Whip My Hair, the song which was number two, kind of says otherwise. It think Ellie Goulding's Your Song could be number one the previous week, instead of X Factor 2010 having 2 weeks. X Factor's second official week will be the hardest week to beat it, as that's when it will have ALL of its first three weeks taken into account in this system. Ellie Goulding probably has a better chance on its first official week where she has the advantage of sales from the week before where X Factor hadn't been released, but it could be a tough fight with JLS also being in the picture at that point. Cheryl will obviously be demoted by a combination of Bruno Mars & Rihanna; the Black Eyed Peas by Matt Cardle. I think the week I mentioned above is the only potentially interesting one for the remainder of 2010... Oh dear at Cee Lo Green being demoted. Talk about undoing all the good work in 2010 before with one fell swoop. :snif: The best #1 of the year IMO. Edited July 3, 201213 yr by superbossanova
July 5, 201213 yr Author CHERYL COLE- PROMISE THIS- NON NUMBER ONE http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/ac/Promisethiscover.jpg NEW PEAK POSITION: 2 Free promotion on Saturday Night's premier TV Show normally pays dividends and Cole's 2nd solo chart topper was launched with similar fanfare in November 2010 to make No 1 in the real world. Not here where she finds herself up against a far bigger Rihanna track which easily defeats Cole who only spent one week ahead of RiRi adn thusly fails on this thread. VoaLJAZGlrc
July 5, 201213 yr Author JLS- LOVE YOU MORE- NON NUMBER ONE http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/6f/Jls-love-you-more.jpg NEW PEAK POSITION: 3 The Children In Need record for 2010 was recorded by this lot who have already had 2 of their No 1's demoted here and now add a third. Here it fails to overtake either Ellie Goulding or X Factor Finalists 2010, still it can console itself in the knowledge that it managed to get two places higher than "The Club Is Alive". ye4nins8zac
July 5, 201213 yr Author NEW NUMBER ONE - 04.12.10 ELLIE GOULDING- YOUR SONG (1 wk) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d1/Ellieyoursong.jpg One in a seemingly endless parade of Female soloists recording pop gems for a TV commecial, this was used for the John Lewis Christmas advert that year and becomes courtesy of this thread her sole No 1. Only 9k seperated this at No 1 and JLS at no 3 in this week so to some extent she was fortunate. xscixyIP6Ho
July 5, 201213 yr Author THE BLACK EYED PEAS- THE TIME (DIRTY BIT)- NON NUMBER ONE http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/32/The-Black-Eyed-Peas-The-Time-The-Dirty-Bit-Official-Single-Cover.jpg NEW PEAK POSITION: 3 Of course it made No 1 in what has turned into the most unsuccessful week in this thread, namely the one before Xmas. Yes it was crushed here by both Matt Cardle and Rihanna Ft Drake who both accelerated away over the festive period to leave this a distant third, oh yes and its absolute TRIPE which makes its demotion here VERY welcome! e65IiQgGamE

July 5, 201213 yr Author Pleasing for Katy! I had hoped that she'd get a promotion with it (despite not voicing that here), and I remember being gutted at the time that she spent two consecutive weeks at #2. I presume "Firework" will have a new peak of #2 - could you confirm this once we get past November please? :P "Firework" only made No 3 on this thread I'm afraid. :(
July 5, 201213 yr My predictions were correct! Ellie Goulding's Your Song a number one and BEP's The Time not :D
July 5, 201213 yr Why did Helping Hati end up with 3 weeks at number one? In it's third week it dropped to #9
July 5, 201213 yr Author Why did Helping Hati end up with 3 weeks at number one? In it's third week it dropped to #9 Don't forget that's it's first week sale would be counted towards three separate weeks.
July 5, 201213 yr Don't forget that's it's first week sale would be counted towards three separate weeks. Out of pure interest, where did Helping Haiti fall to after its three weeks at no. 1 using this system? :D 01-01-01-38? :kink:
July 5, 201213 yr Author Out of pure interest, where did Helping Haiti fall to after its three weeks at no. 1 using this system? :D 01-01-01-38? :kink:  Not quite- only to No 2 (as it still had its second week sale of over 100k to cushion the blow). After that I didn't track it but it would probably be between 20-30.
July 5, 201213 yr Surprised Owl City only kept one week while Roll Deep kept two, Fireflies was supposed to be the stronger of the two 3-weekers, but I while I could have predicted Helping Haiti eating in a week, I wouldn't have predicted Iyaz getting 3. I SUPPOSE it's NICE Ellie has a #1 via this thread.
July 5, 201213 yr GIRLS ALOUD VS SUGABABES- WALK THIS WAY- NON NUMBER ONEOne of my ultimate guilty pleasures! I know it's absolutely terrible but I really can't help but love it! Is there a rehab for this sort of thing? I could do with going there :P NEW NUMBER ONE- 28.07.07- KATE NASH- FOUNDATIONS (1 wk)Lovely to see this get promoted to number 1! One of my favourite songs of 2007! I remember it fondly (along with 'Umbrella' and 'The Way I Are') as they were around at the time I turned 18! NEW NUMBER ONE- 23.02.08- NICKELBACK- ROCKSTAR- 1 wkThis really isn't as terrible as everyone makes out  It's nothing amazing, of course, but it doesn't quite deserve the hatred it gets. KELLY CLARKSON- MY LIFE WOULD SUCK WITHOUT YOU- NON NUMBER ONE http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/e7/My_Life_Would_Suck_Without_You.jpg Q41LPYT99R4:angry: I AM NOT HAVING THIS DEMOTED. Still my most played song on iTunes! (I listened to it 150+ on the day it premiered! - CRAZY) I'm still not bored of it either. Such a good song! I will never forget the prediction thread for this. Ethan thinking it would peak at #19  MEMORIES. NEW NUMBER ONE- 02.05.09- LA ROUX- IN FOR THE KILL (1 Wk) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/12/La-roux--In-For-The-Kill-.jpgOH GOOD LORD. :puke: (I realise I'm alone on this!) CHIPMUNK- OOPSY DAISY- NON NUMBER ONE eS6wYe241eQAmazing song. I still play this regularly and it'd still be a hit even if it was released now. NEW NUMBER ONE-06.03.10 FLORENCE + THE MACHINE WITH DIZZEE RASCAL- YOU GOT THE DIRTEE LOVE- 1 WK http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/4e/You_Got_the_Dirtee_Love_(Florence_%20_The_Machine_single_-_cover_art).jpgSee La Poo :puke: CEE-LO GREEN- FORGET YOU- NON NUMBER ONE http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zPhNl3ti-fI/Tmu7JrE4FuI/AAAAAAAAEj8/4oYVPWR0pDc/s1600/Cee%20Lo%20Green%20-%20Forget%20You.jpgOoh. This I LIKE. It was good for a whopping 14 plays for me. (That's terrible!) Horrific song! Thank God Bruno Mars beat him. (I don't get the hate towards him on Buzzjack, either :() THE BLACK EYED PEAS- THE TIME (DIRTY BIT)- NON NUMBER ONE http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/32/The-Black-Eyed-Peas-The-Time-The-Dirty-Bit-Official-Single-Cover.jpg e65IiQgGamELMAO. That performance is one of the worst performances I have ever witnessed before in my life. It was terrible. Glee's performance a week or so after was far, far better  LOVE this thread. Very interesting read! Thanks for taking the time to do all this Gezza! :o
July 5, 201213 yr I SUPPOSE it's NICE Ellie has a #1 via this thread. Yes, nice but not amazing, Your Song is so weak compared to her other material :( I'm guessing under this system if the BEPs were demoted, Willow wouldn't have made it as high as #2 either? That'd be good, that top 2 was one of the worst in recent memory!
July 5, 201213 yr That tidies up 2010 a fair bit, would have been nice for Fuck You! to take a couple of weeks back off Bruno Mars but most of the promotions are excellent - Ellie in particular, it's actually my favourite of hers.

That'd be good, that top 2 was one of the worst in recent memory! Late 2010 was awful, wasn't it? So many horrendous songs contending for the top spot. And yes, that top 2 is possibly for worst I can ever remember - maybe Frankee and Eamon in 2004 comes close if only for sheer ridiculousness but they both have more musical merit IMO. I can't think of anything worse, but feel free to refresh my memory of any. I wonder how many "non #1s" in 2011 I'll never have heard of. :o It's a shame Aloe Blacc has no chance of a promotion here as he was behind Pitbull the entire time when he moved 4-3-2-5. Give Me Everything is awesome though, no complaints. Hard to muster up much enthusiasm for 2011 when I never cared much when it was ongoing. The question is how many weeks will Moves Like Jagger get - at least 5? Looking at the sales for #1 in 2011, One Direction are probably the only near enough cert to "defend" their #1 from it.
