We'll know in about 15 mins if Kylie's done well.

Aplogizes for the Tulisa comparison, it was just the first thing that came to my mind though for some reason, probably because the way the performance was structured.

I remember Estelle's American Boy climbing 70->1 or something. :o

Entered at #72, dropped out and re-entered at #1. Not sure how/why that happened though.

Gosh, how did that Westlife one manage to happen?

Leaked CDs the previous week I think. It was very fortunate that happened to land it at exactly #200 because that record now can't be beaten

-x-

Go Rudimental :D Still behind Lawson though (they're #6). Alexandra still only at #31, definitely going to be her lowest peaking single then unless it does get a 59p reduction.

I love Time Bomb but I must admit I wasnt impressed by her performance at all.

I was expecting something a bit edgier like in parts of the video, but no, kylie just does her typical smiley happy thing :(

Waiting for Kworb to update, hopefully Loreen has managed to pull out a 10% lead or so! :kink:
She was NOT miming, you could tell she was singing live over the back track.

I agree... and it was easier to tell with Kylie... i think Cheryl's mic was turned WAAAAAY down... I thought Kylie did great, hope we see a decent boost :-)

Don't want this going back and forth but she sang tiny bits "live" over a pre recording and to me that is miming. She just made a better job of it that Cheryl.

The Radio 1 playlist thread is going to be very popular this week then :P

It either will be full of rejoices or full of moans and rants

She sang almost all of it live :/ she had the backing track to add more oomph to the perfomance. Kylie rarely, if ever, mimes.

God forbid a singer uses a backing track :o

I'm not even a Kylie fan by any means but she is definitely not the type to mime.

Thanks. Yeah, that's very lucky. Although a bit boring now that it's already been done. I guess we can still wait for 100-1, 75-1 and 40-1 climbs (the latter two were almost managed very recently by Pixie Lott and David Guetta respectively, so they could actually feasibly happen one day! :o).

Another song that re-entered at #1 was We R Who We R by Ke$ha, because of it being downloaded from a compilation album for a couple of days and managing to chart at #95.

Kylie was singing live and had a backing track but she sang it all live, the backing track was more used the the parts that say ooh etc but the main vocal was all live.

Actually Regina most of Kylie's TV performances over the years have been mimed. It's very difficult to find live performances of any of the Light Years, Fever or Body Language singles. The sound quality of the vocals sounded distinctly pre-recorded to me but if it was a pre-record then she's a real pro because she made it look live.

Really? well thats news to me.

Wow 16 posts in the space of 10 minutes lol i've never seen this website like this before

The worst I've seen it was when Born This Way and Someone Like You were fighting for #1. :drama:

Most singers would use a bacing track (meaning music no band, background vocals) on a show like this but if that backing track has prerecorded lead vocals that the singers just sings along too that is different. And thats all I was saying.

But the thing is, Cheryl did not sing live? Kylie sung the entire song live, no miming involved at all, she just sang over the song during the chorus which most vocalists do anyway, you could hear her live vocals extremely easily.
