While Alexandra's single is hardly the greatest it does not deserve to be flopping on it's arse! Can see this being a #43 smash as sales will fall off rapidly over the weekend - The fickle finger of fame strikes again!

I'd like Loreen to be #1, it's one of the better Eurovision songs we've had for a while, I'd like to see Alex climb as well as she doesn't deserve all the flak

and lack of support she's getting.

Top 20 is great for Alex with the airplay situation. She must be selling well on other digital sites. Hope she can hold steady.
I was sure Loreen would be number 1 in the first set of midweeks as it had a huge i tunes lead all day sunday and a good part of monday. I tunes isnt everything i suppose. That said, Alexandra Burke is floating around number 30 and is top 20 in the offical chart, so other sources account for more sales than we often give credit for.

Also to add, Tuesday mids are always very inaccurate, lots of missing sales, mostly from iTunes

=============

bit of a fall for fun. Lawson must be 3, can't see anyone else occupying the #3 position.

Lawson? :manson:

I hope that thing doesn't outsell Loreen by Sunday. Hopefully fun. will overtake Lawson by the end of the week, and Loreen continues to hold inside the top 3. :D

If Loreen reaches top 3, it will be the highest peak for a Eurovision song since Jessica Garlick's Come Back reached No.2 in 2002.
And the first non-UK song to go top 3 since Johnny Logan - Hold Me Now in 1987!

...#13 :P

The last Eurovision song to chart high was Scooch 'Flying The Flag' but that's the UK entry. It's more interesting to see another countries' winning entry do well. It's a shame Loreen will miss out when, to think in 1982 'A Little Peace' was a UK #1 hit.

Then again MoR ballads were all the rage in the early 80s.

Hang on a moment, let me get my facts right

Since 1997, when Katrina peaked at 2, the highest peak for an Eurovision song has been Jessica Garlick. Since 2002, the highest peak has been Fairytale by Alexdander Rybek (Blue was 11, Scooch was 13). That can be beaten if Loreen reaches top 5 this week.

Done.

Scooch peaked at #5. Not sure where you've got #13 from.

No it's not "great" for a pop singer whose latest single reached #3 and album has sold over 800k.

No it isn't but I did qualify what I said. When Alex was promoting Overcome her profile & radio support was so much higher. Any artist struggles, if they aren't firmly established and their music isn't supported.

Regardless of the situation with radio or tv #19 is terrible, it can't be described as great. Its at #28 on iTunes it may even drop out of top 20.

Disapointing, and god knows how the album will do, as Elephant didnt do brilliantly either.

You would think her fanbase could at least get her top 10 regardless of radio/tv, it's a shame this is my favourite of hers next to All its just nNight Long I guess it just fails to stand out and make an impact with so much material simialr to it out right now.

Great news about the top 2! The best top 2 in a long time, hopefully it can stay this way but I think fun. will overtake Lawson (assuming they're #3) and Loreen to take #2.
Not surprising at all that Rudimental are #1, they had built up a decent lead - bigger than any lead Euphoria ever had - by the closing of the tracking period (i.e. Monday midnight) and they hadn't been THAT far behind prior to that. That plus a ton of pre-orders and post-release EP sales - the EP is still #6 - and maybe a few physicals were always going to put Loreen behind. Fantastic to see it anyway, I just really hope nothing happens over the week to take the #1 away from them :D
