The Vaccines Come Of Age is due on September 3 and you can hear the track No Hope below. No Hope will be released on Sunday July 8 digitally and as a limited edition 7" with the tracks Blow Your Mind plus demo and live versions of No Hope. Singer Justin Young told Xfm's Mary Anne Hobbs that the new album was recorded "live" in the studio with producer Ethan Johns and that the approach came from the band honing their skills over hundreds of gigs. "We've played and played and played over the last couple of years and I think we're good players, so why not?" he said. "So much these days, [recording is]essentially building a house brick by brick, so we thought it'd be a better reflection of us. You hear the energy in the room and there's something irreplaceable, really. Especially for our music, which is direct and simplistic." 7Wt5QSXcQ_Y&ob=av2e Not convinced but I wasn't by "Post Break-Up Sex" and they followed that with two of last year's best singles, so who knows.
May 29, 201213 yr Massive stepdown from "Nørgaard" and "If You Wanna". I only gave their début a listen after the latter song was used in Made in Chelsea and I surprisingly enjoyed it! Hopefully the second album is up to its standard.
July 22, 201212 yr Author "Teenage Icon" down as released 3rd of September - same day as the album AGAIN, after seeming really promising at first this campaign is shaping pretty much exactly the same as the last one. bFUKrsDDChE It's not quite "If You Wanna", but it'll do for a jumparound at Leeds. Great album cover as well.
September 11, 201212 yr Author Probably sums up how much apathy the indie community holds for them (yet oddly they're the scapegoats in the mainstream media for everything sinfully hipster-ish) that this has got so few replies but I'm sure you'll all be pleased to know the album's actually rather good. "No Hope" makes far more sense as an album opener than a lead single, "I Always Knew" is weirdly reminiscent of "Video Games" in its lyrics despite the music being Vaccines-by-numbers and "Teenage Icon" is just brilliant. It's good beyond track 3 as well.
September 14, 201212 yr I actually really like every single I've heard by these lot, Post Break-Up Sex being my least favourite. I think I may have to get the latest album, Teenage Icon and No Hope are fantastic!
September 14, 201212 yr It's unfortunately got nothing at all on 'What Did You Expect...' which is a shame, although I was massively surprised by how good that album was anyway.
November 14, 201212 yr So should i buy?? My advice - wait for it to come down in price. I'd say about £5 would be fair.
November 15, 201212 yr Yeah itll be that price in january - but i want the new single on my ipod now lol!!
November 15, 201212 yr Well with this promise of coming of age, what a load of tripe. Their first was full of catchy tunes. This is full of annoyingly catchy bollocks. Also, has the lead decided to not sing anymore?
