I love how the song is mostly piano, I wouldn't like this song as much as I do if it had guitars and drums throughout the whole thing.

 

Ah, I love the band version myself, the little riff towards the end of the song just makes me tear up every time. It's subtle differences, but I far prefer it to the album version. Stunning song either way though, a deserved 3rd. :wub:

One of Buzzjack's favourite ever songs, we all knew this would do very well but it just loses out to The Killers. Both songs won their yearly rounds. I didn't really get the massive hype for this at the time, but I do like it a lot. In my opinion "Maneater" and current single "Big Hoops (Bigger The Better)" are MUCH BETTER. This was Nelly's last top ten hit as a solo artist. Since this song she's had top ten hits on "Give It To Me", "Broken Strings" and "Morning After Dark"

Surprise, surprise! It was predicted by many people at the start of the game that this would be the landslide winner. And they were right. The Killers become the fourth band to win the Ultimate Rate. Previous winners included Oasis, Pulp, Gorillaz and Madonna. Shockingly 4 times out of 5 the winner has been a male, unusual for Buzzjack but when a male song is very good BJ will get behind it. The Killers are one of my favourite 00s bands who had many great songs including this one. This isn't my favourite Killers song but its classic status is deserved.

1 and 2 were actually very close when I opened the thread, but then I counted Bre's votes before starting the countdown - I think he gave them 20 points, so without his votes The Killers would've still won.

oh wow, I was sure Nelly Furtado would beat the Killers :o I'm glad though, Say It Right isn't bad, its just really overrated, she had far better songs from Loose, whilst Mr Brightside may have been overplayed slightly, it still sounds amazing and the lyrics really are quite something

 

Also, surprised to see Muse so high, I certainly didn't expect both of their songs in the top 10 :o
