June 6, 201213 yr I thought she sounded pretty good, there was obviously a fair few out of tune moments, particularly the 'Need' parts when she went higher. But there was some very good parts imo. She's far from the best singer. And was always my worst singer in Girls Aloud, but she does have an average voice. I think people are a bit too harsh tbh.
June 6, 201213 yr Comments about Cheryl are always over the top... Vocals weren't very good, but oh well, does it deserve that amount of hate and nasty words? Probably not. I am not talking about Buzzjack though, most people are pretty civilised here, but Twitter sometimes look like a Sun readers conversation. People need to cool it down about Cheryl's performances, they always over-exagerate. Yes, she's not Adele, no need to make a big deal every single time she sings live or mimes. Hardly. She was out of tune for the majority of the performance, it was an embarrassment for British music. They were supposed to be showcasing Britain's best and there's Cheryl whining out of tune.
June 6, 201213 yr Cheryl wasn't invited for our vocal abilities, she was invited because she is one of the greatest UK popstars of the noughties and because it was extra publicity for the concert. Incredible success with the band, 2 number 1 solo albums (potentially 3 very soon), the most talked about celebrity for years, etc. That's why she got invited. They wanted icons from every generations, and Cheryl is one of them... And now "Need you know" is top 20 on itunes only because she covered it with Gary. At the end of the day, her vocals are what they are. She's not gonna quit music because of that, because she SELLS lots of records so clearly some people enjoy her pop career.
June 6, 201213 yr It's a shame that she's not going to quit music, because it's quite clear she has no talent in that area. She is however a very beautiful woman and talented dancer, I'm sure she'd do well as a model or something similar.

As far as I'm concerned a lot of people love her as a popstar, hence why they buy her music.
June 6, 201213 yr And by the way, I listened to the duet again tonight, and clearly people are exagerating big time how bad it was. Yes, they were some bits out of tune, but I do REALLY think she did quite a good job of it.
June 6, 201213 yr 'Clearly' those in the minority are the ones whose viewpoint is incorrect. In this case the vast majority are of the opinion that she was really very bad indeed.
June 6, 201213 yr 'Clearly' those in the minority are the ones whose viewpoint is incorrect. Wow, that's some bold statement to make ! -_- But ok, I leave it to you if that can make you feel some kind of better. :)
June 6, 201213 yr Wow, that's some bold statement to make ! -_- But ok, I leave it to you if that can make you feel some kind of better. :) Are you one of those people who if they are a fan or a loon of someone, amiditaly loves EVERYTHING they do and agree with EVERYTHING that they say, and anyone who has a slightly issue with something is just a hater and must be killed or something dramatic.

No, I guess I used to be but now I'm a lot more distant to all this criticism. But it is upseting to see people jumping on every single occasion to slag her off big time and make a big deal out of little things. Yes, the girl didn't give her best performance there, but when I read people saying they were horrified, mortified or they would rather die than listening to it again, come on... don't you think it's a bit too much ? If I have to tone it down a bit with my excessive love for Cheryl, I think people should as well with their constant criticism. You say I LOVE everything, but some people HATE everything, and I don't think that's any better. At least love is something positive. My rant is over now, I can go back to work  Edited June 7, 201213 yr by Hayzayy
June 7, 201213 yr "Quite clear" to you. As far as I'm concerned a lot of people love her as a popstar, hence why they buy her music. No, people love the catchy autotuned pop music she puts out. Everybody knows that Cheryl cannot sing live, she's appalling.
June 7, 201213 yr After reading comments about the performance online I listened to it yesterday...and it really isn't as bad as people are making it out to be! Sure, it's not perfect, but it was no means horrendous. I'd say the worst part about it was how nasal her voice was but that's just how she sings anyway?! People really do just jump on her at every opportunity now, it's ridiculous.

So yes, if people love the music she puts out, she has no reason to quit music. Thanks. Edited June 7, 201213 yr by Hayzayy
June 7, 201213 yr I was rather uncomfortable watching it to be honest. Clearly not the right song, and having her up with Gary Barlow's vocal probably made it worse to be honest, as he can certainly crack out a tune! But we all know she can sing live, (9 GA concerts for moi, and the Set Fire To The Third Bar - amazingness  far better suited her vocal).
June 7, 201213 yr No, people love the catchy autotuned pop music she puts out. Everybody knows that Cheryl cannot sing live, she's appalling. She can sing live, I've seen her in concert. She's alot better when with Girls Aloud though - MZ3Jt2-3UbQ
June 8, 201213 yr The vocals weren't great, but the worst parts for me were the duet moments. Neither blended with the other.
June 10, 201213 yr As someone who would be considered impartial (I love Cheryl as a pop star and have liked all of her songs but im not a 'fan' as in ive never bought any of her albums etc) that live performance was one of the worst performances from a so called professional singer I have ever heard in my life! I was so embarrassed for her when I was watching it. I have not heard one normal person say anything other than negative about it, the only people I have heard say it is good are Cheryl fans which is a bit deluded really. For instance, I am a massive Kylie fan but I will not sit here and say everything she does is brilliant or that all of her vocals are amazing cos they're not! I have alot more respect for the Cheryl fans who sit here and admit ok, the vocals were horrendoes but Im still a fan cos shes Cheryl!
June 12, 201213 yr This performance was unfortunately not good at all. :( Gary sorta saved it from being a complete disaster.
