^ Holler part two would be awsome!!

Anyway, noticed Heat Rich List had the Saturdays as the fourth richest band under 30 (after 1D, Girls Aloud, JLS) and the good news - they are ahead of the Wanted!

The only annoying thing with what is said about The Saturdays is that it applies to every other girlbands. Stooshe, Parade and Little Mix's recent performances weren't any better than the latest Saturdays one. (And now people are going to show off videos of these doing acapellas, but clearly didn't get the point). All these girlgroups will most likely release things yearly (although, this is not even true in this case since The Saturdays are probably going to release their new album one year and half after OYR which is a huge gap), other girlbands do make dreadful single choices (Waterfalls, for example). The last time they mimed on a TV-show was with All Fired Up which is understandable as it's very hard to sing it live. They did sing MHTO and 30 Days live...with backing vocals like every other girlbands out there (yeah you thought the almighty and amazing girls from these other girlgroups didn't use backing vocals? Oh, well now you know). I don't know what to say about Dailymail...It's not the fault of the girls, is it? If their singles plummet out of the top 40 so quickly its' because they plummet out of the top 40 airplay also. They can't sell a song if nobody hear it. I still can't believe people haven't got that yet. If the other girlbands are having success, it's because they are releasing good songs that get amazing airplay. The Saturdays are releasing good songs that got bad-to-average airplay. Funny that girlbands who actually don't have an average airplay flop, but when it's The Saturdays, suddenly the flop is due to Mollie smiling in their video. Their big singles were Up, Ego and Higher, they won't never sell more than 350k and I don't see how it's a bad thing. Their sales are healthy and as you can see with "Missingyou" post, The Saturdays are worth quite more than a few pennies, aren't they.

I just think hardcore fans love them so much that they are trying to find reasons why they don't succeed, so they go on saying things like " Very plain and ordinary videos full of posing and smiling" while the last girlband video is rip-off of Ego with full of posing and instead of smiling just some really bad acting/pouting (and running).

Just appreciate that they are still there afterall.

What About Us is a great song. It might not be their best song...but why would they need their best song right now? They aren't exactly living bad and dark times. They are in America, trying to launch themselves into the biggest market with a TV-show filming them doing that. It doesn't sound too bad. One thing I'm sure is that it's already better than half of their discography.

I wonder when we're expecting to hear this? I'm thinking in the next two weeks with the video the following week? I'm thinking the Uk release date will be the 13th January or the 20th January now!
I could see this being released on the 13th in the UK and then in the 20th to match with the TV-Show premiere.
I'm guessing the 13th in the United Kingdom and the 16th in the Usa is going to be the release dates!
I'm growing tired of waiting but still excited! :)

OH WHY ARE WE AWAITING SO LONG I'M SUFFOCATING

:yahoo: Lool you've suddenly jolted my anxiousness. :D

Is it just me, but ive heard one of the what about us remixes like 3 times on capital towards the end of the day when they start to air remixed songs.

Well... er, you kinda answered your own question there....

You don't need your best track to launch yourself in America, you just need a very good catchy track which is what What About Us is. Look at pretty much any big US artists at the moment and you will probably like one of their recent singles more than their first one. They just need to release a track that will settle interrest for a second one, not a track that will automatically sell the shit out of them.

And considering the girls have always worked with the pattern of their 2nd single being better than the first one, I don't know why you're making such a big deal out of it. This was recorded back in early summer. I'm pretty sure they got an even better track than this one and they don't necessary need to scrap the WAU video (videos might look cheap sometimes, but it doesn't exactly cost 10p) just so they can release another track instead, film another video, etc. Sure, they should wait until they finished recording their album before choosing the singles, but they don't, so we need to accept the fact that their 2nd singles are usually better than the 1st singles.

They really should go all out with the first single in America. There's absolutely no reason not to. By some kind of miracle they've been given the opportunity to launch in the US, so they should release the very best song they can to break the market!

Their whole "second single stronger than the first" thing may have become their unfortunate pattern in the UK, but taking this approach in the US could be a mistake.

'Wannabe' "automatically selling the shit out of" the Spice Girls certainly did them no harm whatsoever! If the Spice Girls had meekly come out with a "will this do?" first single, with the view to focus more on the second single (which incidentally is exactly what Virgin Records wanted to do), then who knows what would have happened with them.

Tbh - "go hard or go home" applies here.

The live performances certainly bring the song to life, I think. From what i've heard of the studio version (the vocals on the remixes and the clip from the E! advert) it sounds a bit flat and the "na na na"s are very empty, but watching the performance at the Roxy now and it certainly works well in front of an audience. The instrumental behind the "whatever the weather" part sounds very anthemic and dramatic, and the "na na na"s sound amazing live but I'm just worried the studio version is going to sound rubbish in comparison.

And WHY THE f***, honestly, are they singing in Jamaican accents? What is that about? The "oh-a why-a ah we-ah waitin' so long i'mma suffocatingggg" lines just sound really weird.

I think it might be a hit in the US, maybe not a massive seller but I can at least see it going top 100 which is a big success considering the US is really difficult to crack, no matter who you are. The question is whether they'll be supported for a second US single or whether or not they'll just abandon the US if this underperforms.

This sounds amazing, I can't wait for the full version. I'm still pissed off with how On Your Radar went considering how amazing it was, but what are you going to do.

Why do you compare them to the Spice Girls, tho ? If we should compare the US success of a girlband to The Saturdays, it would be Danity Kane's, and sorry, but I don't really consider "Show Stopper" as their "Wannabe". People are really taking the US thing way too seriously. It's almost like you want them to be the next five Rihanna. They can't even get a top 20 album in the UK with 4 years behind them and suddenly you all want them to be so freaking successful in the US. If they can achieve a similar success to Cher Lloyd, maybe a little less because they won't ever get that kind of promo, then I'll be more than satisfied. I don't consider "Want You Back" to be on the same level of "Wannabe", I don't even consider it to be better than 30 Days. So we'll see. If they flop, SAD, but they are going to move on. It's not like it would be their first one. It's just like...Why do you even care if this flops? They are not going to stop releasing music. I'm sorry if I sound harsh and over-protective or anything, but I really think people have been taking this US thing way too far. Even The Saturdays themselves don't make such a big deal out of it.
