The pair have been photographed recreating Williams's video for his 1997 smash hit 'Angels'.

Murs will be see kicking a football around a deserted beach, while also looking pensive beneath skyscrapers in the tongue-in-cheek homage.

Shot in black and white, it will be directed by Vaughan Arnell, who previously shot the original 'Angels' promo.

'Hand on Heart' will be the fifth single to be taken from Murs's album Right Place Right Time and is released on November 24.

Robbie Williams for BBC Christmas comedy?

7:59pm, Sunday, 27 October 2013

http://static.whatsontv.co.uk/sites/default/files/styles/large/public/media/b007h8hp.jpg

Sir David Jason has revealed Robbie Williams wants to play his assistant in the up-and-coming Open All Hours special!

Sir David starred with the late comic Ronnie Barker in the hit comedy about a corner shop, which ran on BBC 1 between 1973 and 1985. Sir David will reprise his role as Granville in a half-hour special this Christmas.

In his new autobiography, Sir David reveals: "We did this interview with Robbie Williams, and he said, 'I wouldn't mind a part' and I said, 'All right, if you don't mind being a walk-on' and he said, 'Yeah, I'd be a walk-on, or I could be Granville's assistant!' In a way, we couldn't possibly do that. I mean, I wouldn't stand a chance!"

Sir David says he has always wanted to reprise his role as hapless shop assistant Granville:

"I always wondered what happened to Granville and thought that he might have taken over the shop. Series creator, Roy Clarke had the same thought. Of course, it will seem strange without Ronnie. I don't believe I can stand up to his Arkwright but we are going to have Ronnie's presence there. We refer to him all the time and his picture is there, looking down."

Looking back on his career, Sir David says Ronnie Barker, who he called 'The Guv'nor' was a major influence and they worked together on such shows as Hark At Barker, Porridge and Open All Hours.

"He taught me that you could be very famous but you don't have to be a difficult, rotten so-and-so. The reputation of a lot of famous people was one of difficulty and Ronnie proved to me that if you enjoy what you're doing, there's no need to be difficult."

Robbie Williams Raises £1 Million For Charity Halloween Ball Alongside Lily Allen (PHOTOS)Robbie hosted the event alongside Ewan McGregor and Jemima Khan

Robbie Williams has plenty to celebrate today after teaming up with Jemima Khan and Ewan McGregor last night to raise a staggering £1 million through UNICEF UK for the children of Syria, and the Take That star made it even more of an evening to remember by being joined on stage by Lily Allen.

The 44-year-old hitmaker :P :o :o :o teamed up with Khan and McGregor to host the benefit at One Mayfair where the likes of Sophie Dahl and Gemma Arterton were in attendance and Robbie provided the entertainment for the evening, performing tracks from his latest album 'Swings Both Ways' including a lovely duet with Lily Allen on their cover of 'Dream A Little Dream.'

Robbie Williams looks pleased with himself after a successful night (WENN)

Lily, who is mother to two daughters, looked incredible as she flaunted her weight loss in a figure-hugging sequin dress while in costume as a bright green alien complete with antennas and leopard print tights, but the 'Smile' singer still managed to maintain some class by toting a matching Chanel bag.

Meanwhile, Robbie was also joined by McGregor for a special rendition of the hitmaker's classic ballad 'Angels.' The night proved to be a success and it seems guests were not only in the Halloween spirit but the giving spirit too as they kindly donated thousands of pounds to help children caught up in the Syria crisis.

Their efforts certainly paid off as the government matched the amount raised during the night pound for pound, bringing the grand total to approximately £1 million. Robbie tweeted after the night: “Thanks @lilyallen @mcgregor_ewan @Jemima_Khan great night @UNICEF_uk Halloween ball,” while Jemima added: “A million £s plus raised for Syria's children last night at @unicef Halloween Ball thanks to @lilyallen @robbiewilliams @mcgregor_ewan.”

Robbie is preparing to release 'Swings Both Ways' on November 18, the same day that his Take That pal Gary Barlow will be releasing his new LP meaning the frenemies will be battling it out on the UK charts to top the charts.

Guy Chambers Guy Chambers, Robbie Williams

He wrote the mega-hits for Robbie Williams, but then the two hopelessly divided. Now they were back together. With the "Gala" Guy Chambers spoke about this very special relationship

The Big Band blows from full pipes. Next door, behind a large pane of glass, and Robbie Williams is singing "Puttin 'On The Ritz". To the Swing classics he bobs to the beat, always smiles back, waves his arms, obviously has a lot of fun. Scenes from a short film about the recording of his new album "Swings Both Ways" at London's Abbey Road studios, which can be seen on his website. Interesting detail: Behind Robbie is still a guy - horn-rimmed glasses, Winchester-shirt, gray hair. Guy Chambers. The former music producer with Robbie from 1997, "Take That" managed the climb to solo star.

http://i43.tinypic.com/11rqdqw.jpg

Guy Chambers: Together wrote Robbie and Guy mega-hits like "Let Me Entertain You" and "Angels".

Together they wrote five albums, all of the big hits "Let Me Entertain You" man. 2002 was suddenly closing. The successful duo had fallen out yourself. Now they are partners. In the pop world a sensation. How they got together again? And how it came about once ever for Split? "We had a very close creative relationship," Chambers said in an interview with "Gala". "I accompanied Rob on tour, and he went with me and my family on vacation." In their heyday they had "written songs nonstop."

Electrified. Williams - exuberant, but also fragile - to sing some injury from the boyband times from the soul. And he enjoyed the new hype around his person and fame to the fullest. Chambers smiles as he tells it. It's been great, "but Rob was just not a lighter type. As we worked on the second disk, it just came out of rehab. And I was not the easiest." May not believe you!

The London-born second residence in LA looks like the classic modern family man. In fact, he is married and father of three children. A serene man with a fine sense of humor. The only Colorful him are the red socks. "Rob and I have taken some time for us as a matter of course," he says. Everyone wanted to evolve without giving the other space. Chambers: "When it came to work, I could be very rough."

Hubris, hype, two large egos: So it came to bang. Finally, Robbie wished his partner snippy "all the luck in the world", especially with the next projects ... The separation of the two did not look good. Robbie's music lacked Guy Chambers' ideas and thus the ingenious touch. The hits were made. Robbie sank into the swamp drugs. Eventually, when Take That also reconciled again, you came into contact again, finally spoke off. What is different today? "Rob is happily married and father," says Chambers. "He now feels as Robbie, the pop star, probably. Previously, he was so overwhelmed." He smiles again. "And I also."

Guy Chambers: Robbie Williams, 39, still has the pop-star status.

The chart-topping songs of yesteryear were missing last however. With his second swing album he now wants to show off.

Robbie Williams fears Miley's fame is so intense the popstar could end up in rehab

12 Nov 2013 19:31

The former boybander compared her fame to his own young stardom and confesses "the spotlight that's now upon her is rehab-making"

Who put twenty pence in Robbie Williams , then?

It seems our Robbie can’t stop talking about the moment – which is fine by us while he’s talking about bedding Ginger Spice.

But his latest topic of discussion is Miley Cyrus. A good choice to be honest.

Robbie fears the twerking disaster could follow in his footsteps by suffering from the pressure of fame and ending up in rehab.

The former boyband star is quoted as saying: "Miley's got the world talking and looking at her. And the spotlight that's now upon her is rehab-making.

“It has a detrimental effect on your psyche. I've had a similar light shine on my direction and it f***s you up. And it f***s you up for a long time.

"She's just a kid. She's a kid who looks as though she's rebelling against her father and rebelling against the industry that put her in a Hannah Montana-shaped box.”

Robbie admits the worldwide obsession with her naked antics, weed habits and, er, music career could be damaging the 20-year-old singer.

"She makes good pop records, she's got a nice body, she's got a beautiful face. She's a good pop star,” he complimented.

"But I know that spotlight on her is too intense even for the brightest, most well-rounded people - they'd find it impossible to deal with let alone someone who's been a child star since they were three years old or whatever. God bless Miley."

We just need those last three words on repeat.

Expensive goodbye: Robbie Williams admits he was left in debt after 'paying £1.5 million to leave Take That' in 1995

Robbie Williams has alleged that it cost him £1.5 million to leave Take That in 1995, more than he had earned after five years in the group.

The 39-year-old singer - who reunited with Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen three years ago for their sixth studio album - ended up having to pay the large sum to get out of his contract.

Talking to BBC Radio 4's Mastertapes, he said: 'For reasons I can't go into because certain people like suing me - and they like winning - there was a big need for me to get out of my contract and out of that record company.

'I think I made a million or something in Take That and then it cost me a million and a half to get out of the deal. So as a 20-year-old I ended up coming out of Take That owing £500,000.'

Robbie also recalled the evening he told his band mates he was going to leave, and added that he thought it may have ruined their night.

I said to the boys, 'This will be my last tour.' We went for a curry the night before everything happened, and we were taking a competition winner for a curry.

'It mustn't have been a very nice evening for them!'

He added: 'I went back to the hotel and got drunk again, got up the next day, went into rehearsals and I wasn't in a very good way.'

The Angels singer said Jason had insisted Robbie leave earlier than he intended, giving the four remaining members the chance to show they could still work well as a group.

Subsequently, Take That completed their world tour without Robbie before they split in 1996.

Robbie explained: 'During the afternoon, Jason Orange said, "Bob, we need to sit you down and have a chat.

'"So you're going to leave after this tour and what we've decided is, we think it's best you go now, so we can prove we can do this as a four-piece."'

The singer made the comments after appearing on The X Factor on Sunday evening, in which Barlow is a judge and mentor.

Robbie Williams: I would be vicious on Twitter

Friday, 15 November 2013

Robbie Williams would be ''f***ing vicious'' if he used Twitter.

The 'Go Gentle' hitmaker deliberately doesn't have his own account on the social networking site because he would get in ''so much trouble'' and waste days voicing his opinions, although he does still get himself heard on the website by telling a friend what to write.

The 39-year-old singer - who has 13-month-old daughter, Teddy, with wife Ayda Field - said: ''I am [on Twitter], via someone else. If I want to say something, I tell them because I'd get into so much trouble if it was left to me.

''Because I bite and I bite hard. I'd be f***ing vicious.

''That would be my whole day gone. I'm going to stay away from that. I think it's best for my soul.''

Robbie prefers to express himself in his songs and admits some of the tongue-in-cheek lyrics on his upcoming album 'Swings Both Ways' were influenced by his days touring gay clubs with boy band Take That as a teenager, when his manager used to tell people he ''definitely swung both ways''.

He added to The Sun newspaper: ''When I joined Take That, we toured gay clubs for 18 months.

''It always used to confuse me and make me laugh when a lot of the gay people I was hanging out with were insistent everybody was gay.

''According to my manager at the time, I definitely swung both ways. And I wouldn't judge anybody for judging us back then. So for me, the start of the song was a homage to being a teenager in those clubs and being told, 'Oh yes, everybody's gay.

Everybody swings both ways.' I'm really proud of that song.''

TV3.ie

I am glad he is not a twitterer then. I hate it when people become vicious in the social media, and let's face it there is alwas going to be someone bashing/trolling about any star, no matter how cool he may be. (Not to mention a vicious star!)

Perhaps he is too old for the social media though  , he misses the point! Communicate yes, have fun also, fit the convesation and arguments into a real life situation NO!

I've added him on facebook and he is a boring facebooker indeed. Only a few 'signed official posts' and a lot of advertising. But then again he's got this poker thing

He does seem to spend an inordinate amount of time plonked in front of his PC

Robbie Williams feels sorry for ex-fiancee Nicole Appleton

Posted: Friday 15 Nov 2013

Singer ROBBIE WILLIAMS has reached out to his former fiancee NICOLE APPLETON following the reported breakdown of her marriage to LIAM GALLAGHER, insisting she is a "sweetie" who deserves to be happy.

The state of Appleton's relationship with the ex-Oasis frontman has been at the centre of speculation since July (13) when it emerged the rocker is embroiled in a legal battle with an American journalist over claims he fathered her young daughter.

Gallagher is rumoured to have moved out of the couple's marital home in September (13).

Williams, who has endured a long-running feud with his one-time friend Gallagher, has now spoken out to offer his sympathies to Appleton, who he was engaged to in the late 1990s.

The Angels hitmaker tells The Sun, "I have a very big soft spot for Nic because she's a very decent person.

"I feel sorry for her as she deserves to be in a good place, in a happy marriage, and I thought she was with Liam. But it would appear that they weren't.

"Nicole really doesn't deserve all that from Liam. I've very, very fond memories of her. She's a sweetie."

Appleton began dating Gallagher in 2000, two years after breaking off her engagement to Williams. She married the rocker in 2008 and they share a son, Gene.

Robbie, who is preparing to release his new album, Swings Both Ways next week, also performed his new single, 'Go Gentle', which is dedicated to his daughter Teddy.

Robbie, who looked smart in a black tailored suit, was in good spirits as he kissed the gold bambi. Taking to Twitter, he simply said: "Thank you Bambi. RW x."

Speaking about his win, the Bambi jury said: "Robbie Williams is the most successful European pop star of our time – and certainly the coolest one, too. Like few others, the artist from Great Britain knows how to take him and his status as superstar with a smile.

"His often self- mocking lyrics, videos and interviews express a strong personality, which isn't influenced by the enormous commercial pressure of the music business. With his album Swings Both Ways, Robbie Williams shows once more that he is a natural born entertainer who expertly masters several genres."

The star-studded ceremony was also attended by Miley Cyrus and Victoria Beckham, who was honoured with a fashion award.

Swings Both Ways is due for release on 18 November.

Robbie Williams on public outbursts of emotion, feeling, and men to obtain recognition and his new swing album "Swings Both Ways"

Robbie Williams swings again. At 15.11. appears his new album "Swings Both Ways" on which the 39-year-old superstar alongside duets with Michael Buble, Lily Allen and Olly Murs also presents six self-penned songs. "Swing When You're Winning", his first foray into the genre in 2001, became the most successful album of his career. Accordingly, Williams is relaxed, as GQ online meets him in London's Savoy Hotel for an interview. The cozy sweater with cat print on the sleeve, he welcomes us and tells of Heulattacken, Men hostilities, male friendships and diet frustration.

GQ: Mr. Williams, but you are quite turned gray!

Robbie Williams: Nice that you noticed that! I remember when I looked in the mirror at 30 and discovered the first gray hairs on my head with horror. At the time I fit that's not in the stuff. But with almost 40 it is to be at the time, the graying temples.

GQ: Adjusts the image for a pop star?

RW: Oh, I'm now more the elder statesman of pop! Solely by the fact that I already do that for a while. Ultimately, my wife wears a complicity in it. Ayda was the one who suggested that I could forward a few strands of bright color me. At home to have my peace, I agreed. But I like it. I think I will now always wear my hair like that.

GQ: You have in the past often quarreled with your career. How is today?

RW: I'm in a phase where I realize how lucky I am. It is wonderful that I can live this lifestyle. In the past, my whining must have listened to almost ungrateful. But not anymore! I feel blessed to be able to earn my living with a hobby. Because I would have made everything even without money. But I must not.

GQ: What has changed in you there?

RW: The spotlight that illuminated me over the years so intense it makes me not so nervous and seems less intrusive. There was always something like an evil, dark power on the part of the media who saw to it that I could not really enjoy my pop star dream. But when the lights are less bright, then showbiz is pure fun! It's crazy, whimsical and capricious. You are creative, you're playing to an audience, and you make even more money there! Hello? I would be a total fool, I would not finally embrace this happiness!
