How George O’Callaghan missed out on Arsenal and Spurs but got Robbie Williams’ boxers

During his spell at Port Vale, O’Callaghan became good friends with the club’s most famous fan, Robbie Williams.

“Just after he left Take That, Robbie went to all the games.

“The first time I met him was at a testimonial. We were in the gym and Robbie came in with Jonathan Wilkes. And they were like, ‘which one’s O’Callaghan’.

“And I was like, what’s Robbie Williams want with me now.

“And he said ‘I sold you on Player Manager to Leeds for 15 million last night.’ So I actually think Robbie thought I was worth 15 million and was better than everyone else.

“We just had a friendship from there. We used meet up and he was around the club all the time.

“He was always very good to me. I went out with him one night and I was going home and I needed his autograph for my sister. And he took off his boxer shorts and gave them to me for my sister. She has them framed at home.

“Robbie was one of us then but he went away to America for a couple of years and came back a completely different guy.

“But I think he’s playing in Port Vale over the summer so I’ll expect free tickets for that one.”

Robbie Williams emotionally reunites with wife Ayda and their children after spending three weeks in quarantine amid coronavirus pandemic

Robbie Williams, 46, spent three weeks in quarantine after a trip to Australia

The singer was filmed reuniting with daughter Theodora, seven, and son Charlton, five, by wife Ayda Field, 40

Ayda had been self-isolating in her Los Angeles home with her children, including daughter Colette, 18 months, and newborn son Bea

And Robbie Williams was emotionally reunited with wife Ayda Field and their children on Saturday after 21 days apart.

The singer, 46, sweetly embraced daughter Theodora, seven, and Charlton, five, in the video after running up the driveway to greet them, with Ayda, 40, sharing the heartwarming moment on Instagram.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/artic...quarantine.html

In the video, Ayda asked her children who they could see walking up the driveway, with Theodora, or Teddy, screaming in excitement 'Daddy!'

Posting the sweet reunion on Instagram, Ayda explained that Robbie had been placed in a separate quarantine, after he returned from a trip to Australia.

Ayda has remained at home in Los Angeles with her and Robbie's children, Theodora Charlton, Colette, 18 months, and newborn Beau.

Earlier this month Ayda revealed that Robbie was practising social distancing, after sharing a video of the hitmaker serenading her outside their mansion

Ayda admitted that it was the closest they had been for a while as she filmed Robbie, who had jumped up onto their porch.

The couple then joked that Ayda's 'co-dependant mother' Gwen was trying to get involved in their romantic moment, while Robbie ushered her back inside.

Ayda explained: 'So we're just social distancing right now, a lot of people have been asking what social distancing is and I've looked it up...

'And it's just staying away from bars, restaurants and clubs and your own husband if he's been to Australia on a plane and in an airport.'

However Robbie then reassured fans: 'The good news is that I don't feel too bad, I've been told that if you can hold your breath for ten seconds and not cough!'

Although Ayda then agreed to meet Robbie in the garden she insisted that he can't come through the house.

SPIRITS LIFTED Robbie Williams says ghosts and spirits have stopped visiting him since having his four children

FOR almost two decades Robbie Williams has been intrigued by the paranormal – but it isn’t interested in him any more.

The Angels singer claims to have spoken to ghosts, been visited by aliens and seen strange orbs of light which he was convinced were extraterrestrial life forms.

But he says they have all deserted him since he had five-year-old lad Charlie, daughters Teddy, seven, and Coco, one, and baby son Beau.

Robbie said: “The strangest thing is that since I’ve had kids, the phenomena has ceased to happen.

“I’m guessing that once you have kids they just take up all of your energy and your thoughts.”

The superstar currently lives in LA but said his religious upbringing in Stoke-on-Trent is what got him interested in the supernatural.

He explained: “I was told at a very early age that I used to see people that had passed on and I would talk to them.

“That kind of carried on through my youth.

“Then I stopped talking to them because I found drugs.

Robbie says the ghosts and spirits have deserted him since having kids

“I came out of the womb a Catholic, so you’re told all these amazing stories about this incredible man who walked on water and, you know, made scampi for everyone.

“So you’re already open to the possibility of the paranormal.

“My mum had these books on her shelves about fairies and UFOs, so my mind has already been open to this stuff.”

He spoke about his experiences on US radio, where he detailed his four most notable encounters with the paranormal world — including one at Utah’s Skinwalker Ranch, which is a hotbed for UFO sightings.

And he admitted he would have bought the US site if he had not been married to Ayda Field.

He said: “There were big rumours on the internet that I’d bought the ranch.

“That’s the kind of dumb stuff that I’d do and not tell my wife.

“She knows I didn’t do that and now the whole world knows I don’t own it.

“But if I didn’t have a wife, I would have bought the ranch.'

ROBBIE Williams has got Take That fans excited that another Take That reunion will definitely happen, they just need to be patient.

Robbie, 46, promised the famous boy group would reunite but not for another five years.

Chatting on talkSPORT, the pop star mused: "I’ve just figured out that, and here’s a sombre thought for you all, I’m 46; if I have 30 more good years in the business, I’ve got 12 or 13 projects left."

"Will one of those be Take That? I don’t know... but I will hazard a guess and say ‘yes’.

"But I’ve got so many ideas I want to do and so many things I want to fulfil that I know what I am doing for the next five years, and it doesn’t involve Take That.

He finished by saying: "[but] yes, I do want to do another gig with Take That."

The Angels singer had planned to perform with Take That at the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony but had to be away for the birth of his baby.

Robbie joined Take That in 1990 as a 16-year-old, but famously quit the group 1995.

The four remaining members continued the group without him before Jason quit the group two years after Robbie.

It would be 12 years before the band were seen back together and the other four members have continued to tour without Robbie since reforming in 2005.

Robbie has had a successful solo career since leaving Take That, with 11 out of his 12 album going to number one in the UK.

The former bad boy married US actress Ayda Field in 2010 after meeting her in 2006.

They live in Los Angeles and have three children together five-year-old lad Charlie, daughters Teddy, seven, and Coco, one, and baby son Beau.

LISTEN Robbie Williams EXCLUSIVE: Music superstar says football suspension feels like ‘longest international break ever’, makes Take That reunion claim

The lack of football because of coronavirus is hitting everybody hard… even multi-award winning music superstars.

Robbie Williams joined talkSPORT on Tuesday evening and bemoaned what feels like ‘the longest international break we’ve had… ever’.

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in the worldwide shutdown of sport, with professional football in England suspended until April 30 at the earliest.

The government has made their message clear: ‘Stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives’

The government has made their message clear: ‘Stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives’

The United Kingdom itself has gone into lockdown following government advice, with more than 25,000 confirmed coronavirus cases and nearly 2,000 deaths.

The hope to see sport return as soon as next month seems very, very optimistic, and the FA made the decision last week to end the season immediately for clubs at Steps 3 to 6 in the non-league pyramid – and divisions higher up could soon follow.

And given how much Robbie is missing football when it is just suspended, we have no idea how he will cope if the season is cancelled entirely!

The Port Vale fan told talkSPORT’s Sports Bar: “Football is like one of the only constants in my life as a passion – I absolutely love it.

“To be honest I’ve been getting a little bored of the soap opera of the Premier League over the past couple of seasons, because you can kind of see where things are going.

“When Liverpool are so far in front, I kind of go, ‘what’s the point?’ I love it when there are four or five teams battling for the top.

“Obviously I’m a big fan of Port Vale so I’ve been going back there to watch them this season and I’ve been loving that. And I watch how Manchester United are doing and that is really boring.

“This is like the longest international break we’ve had… ever!”

Stoke-born Robbie has a homecoming gig at the Valiants’ Vale Park stadium scheduled for June, and coronavirus has yet to force the show to be cancelled or postponed.

However, one event Robbie is involved with later this year HAS been postponed due to the pandemic – Soccer Aid.

The charity match was due to take place at Old Trafford on June 6, and Soccer Aid remain committed to ensuring a game is played later this year.

The 46-year-old added: “There are a lot of people asking questions about gigs and Soccer Aid and we are with everybody else – we have no crystal ball; we don’t know when this is going to end or what this means.

“With the Premier League we are just waiting to see what happens.”

“[My gig at Port Vale] hasn’t been cancelled yet, but once again that’s another one of those things where it’s your guess is as good as mine.

“Obviously we want it to go ahead, and we shall see. There will be news, I will say, either which way in the next week or so.”

But what does the future hold for Robbie?

He reunited with Take That in 2010, and even after leaving the group the following year he has performed with them on three separate occasions.

So, could another reunion be on the cards somewhere down the road?

“Here’s what I figured out the other day,” he finished.

“With projects you do, each project takes two years or three years to pull off, whether it be a TV show or an album, or whatever it is.

Robbie is a huge football fan and is struggling just like the rest of us

“I’ve just figured out that, and here’s a sombre thought for you all, I’m 46; if I have 30 more good years in the business, I’ve got 12 or 13 projects left.

“Will one of those be Take That? I don’t know… but I will hazard a guess and say ‘yes’.

“But I’ve got so many ideas I want to do and so many things I want to fulfil that I know what I am doing for the next five years, and it doesn’t involve Take That.”

And pushed by Sports Bar host Andy Goldstein for further clarification, Robbie gave in and admitted: “Yes, I do want to do another gig with Take That.”

Robbie Williams video sing-along to thank key workers this Staffordshire Day

The Robbie Williams' hit Angels is being turning into a 'thank you' message (Image: Getty Images)

Volunteers are being asked to warm up their vocal cords and sing the 1997 hit as part of a group video sing-along.

Tourism group Enjoy Staffordshire, with the help of Staffordshire County Council, want people to record themselves singing the tune and email it in.

Entries will then be edited into one video, dedicated to the thousands of NHS staff, carers, armed forces personnel, delivery drivers, supermarket workers, farmers, emergency services staff and other "angels" are keeping the county going.

The video will premiere on YouTube on Friday, May 1, as part of this year's online-only Staffordshire Day programme, which will also features poetry readings, art classes, cooking demonstrations, talks and live music.

The big day has taken the form of being online this year as the country remains on lockdown due to the outbreak of coronavirus.

Mark Winnington, cabinet member responsible for tourism at Staffordshire County Council, said: "For Staffordshire Day this year, we want to bring people together and thank the angels who've stepped up to get the nation through the coronavirus crisis.

"A sing-along is a great way to do that, and what better song than Angels for the occasion?

"Robbie's one of our own and we're very proud of him in Staffordshire, and the song is hugely uplifting and meaningful.

"Thank you to Robbie Williams (who is from Burslem) and his management team at IE Music for giving us permission to do this.

"We want as many people as possible to send us a video of them singing the song, whether you have the voice of Pavarotti or only ever dare singing in the shower.

"Let's make a great video and show our angels just how much we love them in Staffordshire."

Full details of how to get involved in the sing-along, and where to send entries, are available by visiting www.enjoystaffordshire.com/angels

Robbie Williams urges LMA students to abide by lockdown over Easter

Robbie Williams urges LMA students to abide by lockdown over Easter

Williams championed the centre’s LMA Choir on Britain’s Got Talent.

April 11 2020 08:29 PM

Robbie Williams has urged students at his music college to “stay safe” and “stay at home” over the Easter weekend.

The former Take That star, 46, is a co-owner of LMA, a music, media and performing arts college with campuses in London and Liverpool.

In a video message, he said: “I just wanted to wish all LMA students and family and friends a very happy Easter.

“Stay safe, stay at home and please make sure you eat too many Easter eggs for me.

“I have given up chocolate since January the 1st. I am feeling much better for it. So eat all the chocolate you can for me. Stay smiling.”

Williams championed the centre’s LMA Choir during the 2018 series of Britain’s Got Talent, when he and his wife Ayda Field were judges.

He became a co-owner in 2019 alongside founders Richard and Simon Wallace.

The LMA offers degree courses in musical theatre, acting, music performance, games and animation, and film and TV production, all validated by Staffordshire University.

LMA is doing learning online at the moment, that must be difficult for students given the courses are musical theatre with extensive group participation :o

LMA Update: Covid-19

3 April 2020

Dear All

We are writing to update you on the latest advice and guidance we have received from the Department for Education

and Public Health England in relation to the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

LMA took the decision to reduce risk of infection and move learning online from Monday 23 March 2020.

We have been having daily gatherings through Google Meet and they are proving highly productive with lots of

questions and advice going out, both during the meetings and, by follow up email, including important reminders and

advice about assessment deadlines.

It is also a great way for us to keep up our contact as groups and the atmosphere has gone way beyond our

expectations.

As the current situation is being monitored, any changes to this plan will be communicated to you by email.

LMA staff will finish work today for the scheduled two week Easter break. They shall be available from 20 April 2020.

During this extraordinary time, please continue to follow the latest Public Health England advice in relation to the

Coronavirus (COVID-19): https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We will continue to provide regular updates as the situation

develops.

Yours

Sir Rob!' Robbie Williams shows off his acting ability as he recites the lyrics from hit song Candy in Shakespearian style whilst wearing a chainmail helmet

He's a singing superstar with over 77 million records sold worldwide.

But, Robbie Williams, 46, showed off his acting ability as he recited the lyrics from his 2012 hit song Candy in Shakespearian style whilst dressed as a gladiator, wearing a chainmail helmet.

His wife Ayda Field, 40, who filmed his performance, shared it to Instagram on Monday, branding her husband 'Sir Rob' in the process, and revealing he'd been inspired by watching Gladiator the night before.

In addition to his gladiator style headdress, Robbie wore a pastel coloured tie dyed slogan top, and delivered his monologue while standing next to a gladiator helmet.

The Rock DJ hitmaker began: 'I was there to witness Candice's inner business. She wants the boys to notice her rainbows, and her ponies.

'Can't wait to walk around your house naked again!' Daisy...

'She was educated but could not count to ten. How she got lots of different horses by lots of different men.

'I thank you,' finished Robbie, before taking a bow and then cracking a smile as he broke character, with Ayda heard laughing in the background.

Robbie Williams not so sweet on kids as choc hunt makes them egg cases

ROBBIE WILLIAMS has revealed this Easter’s sugar rush has put him off his kids.

After setting up an egg hunt around his LA mansion, the Angels singer revealed how he has now seen Theodora, Charlton, Colette, and newborn Beau in a different light — to put it mildly.

‘There is something about sugar that turns all children into t***s,’ the 46-year-old confessed on Instagram Live. ‘There, I said it!’

The British chart star has only just enjoyed an emotional reunion with his brood and wife Ayda after being quarantined when he returned to California from his travels.
