I think Ash, Joseph, Karl and Leah will be the final 4 with Leah to win, that's my take on it.

I agree with Jack, I'd rather have Team Will with 3 acts in the final 8. Can't remember who Ash is but considering it's Jessie J's team, they probably make dogs howl when they sing (or something to that effect? :D ).

Would be interesting to see the breakdown of votes for each contestant. Again, I'm pretty certain that someone who was eliminated last night received more votes than someone in another team who won the public vote. Therefore it doesn't represent who the most popular singer in the contest is.

However, with Leah up to #4 on iTunes I think it's safe to say that this series is already better than last year by actually releasing their performances (in studio quality too) on iTunes. It adds a bit of excitement to the show that was seriously lacking last year in the live shows.

Let's see if Leah gets into the iTunes top 10 next weekend after she performs on The Voice. If she does, then it's pretty much set in stone that Leah is the true winner regardless of where she finishes in the show.

I think next week the public vote will have Ash, Joseph, Andrea () and Cleo sent home.

I think the public seem to like Leah, which actually shows with her track been top 10 on iTunes, but so far she hasn't had the public vote, anything can happen next week. Since Cleo is her only competition next week she should sail through to the final, Cleo's performance was ok last night but I can't see her going into the final. Will knows that Leah is the best act in his group, so it was pretty obvious she was going to be fast tracked to the semis.

I thought loads of people were watching it? Oh well.

It was in a death slot on a hot summers Friday night. I imagine BARB ratings will be considerably higher, with recordings added in too. Still disappointing though.

In the top 100 on iTunes, Leah is now up to #3(!), Mike is #39, Andrea is #58 and Karl is #68. I imagine the rest are between 101-500 or so.

I'm glad Mike's also doing well, good to see him in the Top 40!
I can't say I am surprised. Its change of slot to the Friday was not well publicised and I would imagine most people would have been out enjoying the sun as it was still boiling until around 10.

My faves in order:

01 Leah McFall

02 Mike Ward

03 Karl Michael

04 Cleo Higgins

05 Ash Morgan

06 Andrea Begley

07 Matt Henry

08 Joseph Apostol

So these were the odds for the 8 semi-finalists before the battles stage begun. I deleted the rest of the contestants that were below all 8 semi-finalists.

9/1 Liam Tamne

14/1 Alex Buchanan

14/1 Barbara & Carla

14/1 Karl Michael

14/1 Matt Henry

16/1 Ash Morgan

16/1 CJ Edwards

16/1 Cleo Higgins

16/1 Moni Tivony

16/1 Nadeem Leigh

16/1 Trevor Francis

20/1 Andrea Begley

20/1 Connor Scott

20/1 Joseph Apostol

20/1 Leah McFall

20/1 Lem Knights

20/1 Sarah Cassidy

25/1 Jamie Bruce

25/1 Mike Ward

Now the odds are...

4/11 Leah McFall (It is 4/11 not 4/1, it's not a mistake!)

8/1 Ash Morgan

12/1 Andrea Begley

16/1 Mike Ward

16/1 Karl Michael

35/1 Joseph Apostol

50/1 Matt Henry

80/1 Cleo Higgins

Quite dramatic changes! So happy Leah is a clear favourite, but I still don't think she is such a definite to go through tonight like most people think she is!

I doubt Cleo's anywhere near as popular as Leah. Her studio version of Imagine didn't even reach top 100, whereas Leah's been top 10. She was put straight through by will.i.am, so I doubt she'll have any trouble getting votes from the public. Cleo's amazing, but I can see her going tonight.

I don't think the type of people who download the songs on iTunes though will be the type of people who will pick up the phone and vote. Also, there has been lots of hype around Leah so people may get complacent and not vote for her thinking she is bound to be safe. I hope I'm worrying for no reason though and I'll be proved wrong! :kink:

Where else are they bound to have heard it to want to download it, though? At least half of the people who will vote tonight (for Leah) will be the people who have downloaded her song on iTunes (if her performances tonight are even any good :heehee:), so she should be safe enough. I doubt Cleo had much of a lead on Leanne either, because both are really good artists, but I can see why she won when her rendition of Imagine was fantastic, while Leanne's performance of Where Have You Been was unbelievably shit.

Songs for tonight - Matt Henry – Girl on Fire by Alicia Keys

Ash Morgan – Ex-Factor by Lauryn Hill

Andrea Begley – One of Us by Joan Osborne

Cleo Higgins – Don’t Let Go by En Vogue

Mike Ward – Picking Up the Pieces by Paloma Faith

Joseph Apostol – End of the road by Boyz II Men

Meanwhile, each of the teams will also perform with their coach, while the final 8 artists will put on a big group number too.

will.i.am, Leah and Cleo – ‘Rapture’ by Blondie

Jessie J, Ash and Matt – ‘Stay’ by Rihanna

Tom Jones, Mike and Joseph – ‘Games People Play’ by Joe South

Danny O’Donoghue, Andrea and Karl – ‘Let Her Go’ by Passenger

Final 8 group performance – ‘I Will Wait’ by Mumford and Sons
