July 1, 201213 yr RESULTS: 50 (46) Christina Milian 'AM To PM' 61 49 (24) White Stripes 'Fell In Love With A Girl' 65 48 (26) The Coral 'Dreaming Of You' 71 47 (25) Doves 'Pounding' 75 46 (35) Enrique Iglesias 'Hero' 86 45 (21) Aqualung 'Strange And Beautiful' 87 44 (43) P!nk 'Get The Party Started' 91 43 (40) Justin Timberlake 'Like I Love You' 91 42 (NE) Nickelback 'How You Remind Me' 92 41 (22) Robbie Williams 'Feel' 94 40 (41) Eminem 'Without Me' 96 39 (38) Jennifer Lopez 'Jenny From The Block' 97 38 (29) Beverley Knight 'Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda' 100 37 (30) db Boulevard 'Point Of View' 102 36 (45) Red Hot Chilli Peppers 'By The Way' 103 So 7 of the qualifiers fall out straight away, 6 of them having been in the same predicament last year. Nothing from last year's top 20 yet though. This is, afaia, the last time we play with 2002 though, so not that it matters much. 35 (NE) Las Ketchup 'The Ketchup Song' 104 34 (23) Stereophonics 'Handbags And Gladrags' 106 33 (33) Liberty X 'Just A Little' 107 32 (NE) Atomic Kitten 'The Last Goodbye' 108 31 (28) Queens Of The Stone Ages 'No One Knows' 114 30 (NE) Scooter 'The Logical Song' 119 29 (15) Coldplay 'In My Place' 119 28 (31) Calling 'Wherever You Will Go 125 27 (37) Missy Elliott 'Work It' 126 26 (NE) No Doubt 'Hella Good' 127 25 (36) Lasgo 'Something' 127 24 (09) Pink 'Don't Let Me Get Me 133 23 (42) Brandy 'What About Us' 133 22 (27) Oasis 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out' 135 21 (19) Coldplay 'The Scientist' 154 20 (32) Holly Vallance 'Kiss Kiss' 155 19 (13) Aaliyah 'More Than A Woman' 157 18 (NE) No Doubt 'Hey Baby' 158 17 (34) Britney Spears 'Overprotected' 159 16 (08) Shakira 'Underneath Your Clothes' 172 15 (07) Kylie Minogue 'Love At First Sight' 172 14 (17) Nelly & Kelly Rowland 'Dilemma' 176 13 (10) Sophie Ellis-Bextor 'Murder On The Dancefloor' 179 12 (06) Eminem 'Lose Yourself' 181 11 (12) Sugababes 'Stronger' 183 The best performing qualifiers are No Doubt's Hey Baby (and Hella Good didn't do too badly either) after both being new entries this year, and Brandy and Lasgo. We lose the bottom half of last year's top 10 as Sophie, Pink, Shakira, Kylie and Eminem make room for some climbers. Stronger is only 3 points from getting into the top 10. 10 (11) Kylie Minogue 'In Your Eyes' 186 09 (14) Christina Aguilera ft. Redman 'Dirrty' 194 08 (16) Vanessa Carlton 'A Thousand Miles' 195 07 (18) Sugababes 'Round Round' 199 06 (20) Avril Lavigne 'Complicated' 214 05 (04) DJ Sammy 'Heaven' 239 04 (02) Pink 'Just Like A Pill' 254 Kylie, Christina, Vanessa and another Sugababes song climb into the top ten qualifying for the playoff, but it's Avril Lavigne who registers the biggest climb going up 14 places. DJ Sammy and Pink make up the final playoff qualifiers. 03 (03) Sugababes 'Freak Like Me' 272 02 (05) Shakira 'Whenever Wherever' 322 01 (01) Girls Aloud 'Sound Of The Underground' 324 So the top 5 this year is exactly the same as last year, only this time it's Shakira joining Sugababes and Girls Aloud in going straight to the final.
July 1, 201213 yr Author Really disappointed to see these get less voters than any of the play-off rounds, it's been the other way around the other years. Judging by how the songs in the bottom 5 I'm guessing it's the indie voters that have been lacking? Haven't had time to check/send reminders this week. Â
July 1, 201213 yr Not happy about Just Like A Pill losing its top 3 status to Shakira. (I did give points to Shakira as well but ehh). Ugh at A Thousand Miles and Dirrty as well + Lose Yourself missing the top 10 this year. Pretty crap results across the board really.
July 1, 201213 yr Good Lord what terrible results. db Boulevard, Doves and Aqualung out, and an utterly nondescript Atomic Kitten track in?
July 1, 201213 yr Brilliant top 3, can't argue with that! Shame Stronger missed out by so little to an overrated Kylie song, but aside from that I actually at least really like every song in that top 10. Nothing I'm particularly mad on in the bottom few, except I did give a point to our Bev and it's a real shame AM To PM came last :(
