July 8, 201212 yr Its alright, nothing brilliant but nice and catchy enough. I don't think she will do that well to be honest, maybe it will go top 10? For me, the X Factor songs so far: 1. Home Run - 10/10 2. Wings - 8/10 3. You Bring Me Joy - 7/10 4. Seven Nation Army - 2/10 Misha B is smashing it right now.
July 9, 201212 yr Misha B's song isn't as great as everyone makes it out to be, either. The only act from last years XF to actually "bring it" are Little Mix, for me. I like Amelia's song, but I don't love it nearly as much as I should considering she was my favourite from last year. It's like Diana Vickers/Alexandra Burke all over again for me. Diana was my favourite on the show, but I always loved Alex on there too so when Diana was eliminated I supported Alexandra, but although Diana's album is stronger than Alex's (debut) on the whole, the high's are no where near as good as the high's from Alex's album (Save for maybe 'You'll Never Get To Heaven'). I can definitely see Amelia growing on me though, but I'm not sure how long it'll take if it does! For me: 10.0 Little Mix 'Wings' 07.0 Amelia Lily 'You Bring Me Joy' 05.5 Misha B 'Home Run' 03.5 Marcus Collins 'Seven Nation Army'
July 9, 201212 yr I can't see it doing much better than Aiden Grimshaw's single really, but I'd like it to do well. I'm not a huge fan of her, but this is an infectious song.
July 9, 201212 yr Author Bandwagon: 10 Little Mix - Wings 08.5 Misha B - Home Run 08 Amelia Lily - You Bring Me Joy 07 Marcus Collins - Seven Nation Army (yeah...)
July 9, 201212 yr The hard fact is that Amelia releases her song the week after Little Mix and because of lack of entries so far, She is guranteed no.2
July 9, 201212 yr She has one of those voices that doesn't sound good on anything, despite the fact she can sing in tune and hold a note. The song isn't bad though.
July 9, 201212 yr She may wanna consider bringing forward the release, like Rita must. Otherwise it will be a hard crash out of the top 10 soon after she peaked.
July 9, 201212 yr I actually like this a lot on first listen, I've long stopped listening to Popjustice/Scandipop hype and just judge things on face value these days.
July 9, 201212 yr Really not that keen on the track if im honest! Little Mix's track ''wings'' is a lot better in my opinion
July 12, 201212 yr Capital are actually supporting Amelia after snubbing Misha B, Marcus Collins, Little Mix and Aiden Grimshaw.
July 12, 201212 yr Capital are actually supporting Amelia after snubbing Misha B, Marcus Collins, Little Mix and Aiden Grimshaw. They playlisted Marcus :P
July 12, 201212 yr This is seriously bad. The production's alright but the whole thing is incredibly monotonous and repetitive as hell - it sounds like one of those loon mixes when the verse and the chorus of a track leak so they just loop the chorus after the first verse for the rest of the song to tide them over until the full track leaks. (Aside, some of you really need to learn how to read. Popjustice said it was a great track but absolutely nothing in the review suggested it was a worldchanger on the levels of Bad Romance/Like A Prayer?!)
July 12, 201212 yr I didn't like Amelia on the show (I never thought she was good enough to make the live shows - she was good at shouting at best), but despite that I was looking forward to her material. This is a bit disappointing because as people say, she does sound quite bored and it's quite lacklustre and non-eventful. It reminds me very much of Xenomania's other foray into the pop world outside of Girls Aloud (and Mini Viva) - Alex Gardner, and as much as I liked him 'I'm Not Mad' also suffered from a monotonous chorus over a synthy dance beat and look where that got HIM. This wishes it was up to the levels of I'm Not Mad! The production on that was seriously lush.
July 12, 201212 yr This is just so bad. Sounds a bit dated and really repetitive to me. The lyrics are quite cringeworthy too.
