"The Show" is amazing for a number of reasons- perhaps you had to be there but it was unlike any other songs in the charts at that time, it's the first song (that I heard certainly) to display what would become familar as the "Zenomania" sound when their songs almost sounded like two songs welded together, a style that would reach its zenith with 2005's "Biology". At the time they unveiled their "new look" which was basically TOWIE but 6 years earlier but it's the point that magazines like "heat" really got on board with the band and the tag of "reality TV pop group" started to be slightly forgotten about.

Love Machine at #25 with 7 more GA songs in the top 20? Ah ok, if you MUST Buzzjack. It's the best GA song by miles *grumble*. I will say I've never got the fuss with Untouchable though.

I'm quite surprised to see Higher go out this early actually, I thought it'd do very well.

Quite surprised at the general "meh" response here to 'Who Do You Think You Are'! :o Maybe I'm sentimental towards it.

Love the Comic Relief video with the Sugar Lumps!

The Show brings back good memories for me. I remember watching the video premiere on Top of the Pops Saturday and I think it was the first time I had heard the song too, anyway it was instant love for me there. Then seeing them perform it at Summer XS about a week later (with those director's chairs!) was undoubtedly the highlight of that concert. Probably represents the peak of my interest in Girls Aloud, I guess.

Say You'll Be There fell at the right time, I'd say. It's good, but it's not up with their best. What they excelled at was the peerless pop anthems and ballads - not the R&B-lite numbers - so it's fitting that their entries in the top 20 all represent either of those.

Bit disappointed that Don't Let Go (Love) didn't make the top 20, I thought it would with its mini revival late last year helping to introduce it to a new generation. I probably should have put it at #1 on my chart to be honest but I dunno, Spice Up Your Life feels like it encapsulates everything great about girl groups to me and also has far more nostalgia with it being arguably the peak of "Spicemania" and all.

As my high score indicates, I think Who Do You Think You Are is a stone cold classic - I don't understand why so many people don't regard it highly. It's hard to rank Spice Girls songs because their singles are all so good, but it's up there.

The Show is fucking amazing. The video was the living tits too.

I'm clearly not on the same wavelength of some people here - Love Machine is my favourite GA song! Untouchable on the other hand is massively overrated

We kick off the top twenty with lead single from Sugababes best album (imo) 'Three'. 'Hole In The Head' was their third of six number ones, and probably one of their best! Although two of their #1 singles are still to come! This is a good position for this song, although with the songs that are left, I'd have liked to have been higher.

All Saints third entry is at #19. It was the groups first #1, and took NINE weeks to make it to the summit. It sold 770,000 of the 1.2m copies it sold were before its week at #1, which I believe is some kind of record. I was hoping this would be a few places higher and at least break the top fifteen. All Saints have one song left in the shape of 'Pure Shores' which has been predicted by quite a few of you to be the winner.

I have never, ever (hahahehehahaho) got the fuss with 'Never Ever'. It's so deathly dull and really doesn't go anywhere. It has always bored me, but I think that's just because I far preferred The Spice Girls and pretty much didn't have time for many other acts until '99-ish. I can see why 'Pure Shores' is the highest rated AS song though, although I never fully appreciated that until like a year or two ago!

EDIT: I could take or leave 'Hole In The Head', although it's definitely one of the better 2.0 singles.

So at 18 we have the biggest selling song on this countdown, the lead single 'Wannabe' from the Spice Girls. I really do wish I'd have given this more points after just watching the video. Possibly one of my favourite videos actually and the song is an absolute classic. Having said this, it's not my favourite Spice Girls but it really is the definition of a fabulous girl group song. 'Wannabe' is the 2nd most popular from their debut album, with '2 Become 1' still to come. They also have two more songs to come from 'Spiceworld'.

The Saturdays first of their two songs to make it into the top 20 comes in a 17. 'Ego' is actually a very good song and I enjoy it rather a lot. I'm very glad both this and 'Up!' are their top two songs. 17th feels maybe a bit too high for this, but what do you expect on Buzzjack?

Ew. The idea of Ego finishing ahead of something as downright slick as Hole In The Head makes me feel a bit ill.

Only because you are incapable of stomaching GOOD TASTE.

I probably should have voted in this - oh well, too late now.

Nah, because there's never been and never will be a girl group quite as effortlessly amazing as Sugababes. :D

'Stay' by Shakespear's Sister is at 16! The highest placed song by an artist with only one song in the countdown. The song has a revival due to Cher Lloyd singing it on X Factor, but before then had a monster 8 week run at the top of the UK charts. The video is hilarious, and the parody of it done by French & Saunders always leaves me in stitches. 'Stay' is from the amazing named album 'Hormonally Yours'. I'm glad it's got this high despite not actually voting for it myself as it's nice to see a song that isn't by All Saints, Girls Aloud, The Saturdays or Spice Girls doing well! Now this is out, only t.A.T.u have a song left which isn't from the aforementioned girl groups!

The first of the SEVEN (ridiculous I know) Girls Aloud songs in the top 15 is 'Sexy! No No No...', which is actually my favourite from the ones of theirs left. I didn't realise it was quite so loved as has been here! This is roughly where I put it in my own votes and it's my second fave from them. It's a shame it's below some of their more distinctly average songs. HAI 'The Promise' and 'Biology'.

Sexy! No No No is quite fabulous. Uncharacteristically so for Girls Aloud in fact.

I've only started loving it in the past couple of years. They have some really average songs left which is unfortunate as the likes of 'Sexy! No No No' and 'The Show' are absolute GEMS.

Nah, because there's never been and never will be a girl group quite as effortlessly amazing as Sugababes. :D

Jark, I dont think you know where your head is, I was always there to help you break your fall... You need to have a sit down with your ego :(

The top song from Sugababes 2.0 (eg: when they were amazing) is 'Freak Like Me' at 14. It's the first song with Heidi and literally the video has her introduction down to a tee (although it probably didn't really help with all the bullying allegations that seemed to follow the Sugababes no matter what line up). The song itself is definitely on of their best, certainly their best #1. They really were one of the 'coolest' girl groups at that time and this song still sounds as amazing as it did at the time of its release. They now only have one song left, 'About You Now'.

'Spice Up Your Life' is at 13. The song and video defines pretty much what the world was like when it was released, literally 'Spiceworld'. 'Spice Up Your Life' is also one of my favourites from them, such a good song and actually always puts me in a good mood. There is so much happening in the song, but it all seems to work together. The girls have two songs left, one a piece from 'Spice' and 'Spiceworld'. Poor brave 'Forever'! ON A SIDE NOTE: Does Victoria put her middle finger up at 2:12 in the video?!

'Ego' is amazing. The production is fantastically wholesome. Their second best single for me, easily. Boo at Shakespeare's Sister going out just before the top 15. :( 'Sexy, No! No! No!' is fantastic. Gutted it's finished below 'The Promise' though. :drama:

EDIT: Thank the Lord 'Freak Like Me' only finished there. Terribly overrated. 'Spice Up Your Life' has always been decent, but I always preferred others over it.
