If Taylor sold 600k copies of We are.... and Red has even better 1st day of sale, I think Taylor and 1D may sell much more than 300k.

Yes, with the lead 1D had earlier in the week I was expecting more than 300k, but at least now we can rule them out for #1. Taylor did 299k with 'Begin Again' last week but that is a country single now with some airplay, I suppose 'Red' will do more first week but won't hold up quite as well.

Only 300k for a song that was at one point selling practically triple its closest rival?

Glad to see 1D won't be in the running for #1. Adele doesn't have anywhere near as big a lead as in the UK (yet), will be interesting to see her first week sales - how many days of sales will she have counting towards her first week? 3 is it? (She's currently pushed Taylor back to 0.8, PSY on 0.6125 and 1D 0.5875).

Presently, industry sources suggest that "Gangnam Style" might sell between 270,000 to 290,000 downloads by the end of the tracking week on Sunday. Maroon 5, however, may shift 155,000 to 175,000. Not in the running for No. 1, but targeting a top 10 debut, are One Direction's "Live While We're Young" and Taylor Swift's "Red." The former hit digital retailers on Monday, Oct. 1 while Swift's track went on sale the following day. One Direction might sell around 300,000 downloads, while Swift should move more than 300,000. The airplay for "Live While We're Young" is still building, so it's not a contender for the No. 1 slot on the Hot 100. The same goes for Swift's "Red," which is another pre-release single from the same-titled album, due out Oct. 22.

I reckon 1D has sold a lot more than 300k. Their lead on Monday was gargantuan

It would be great if each of this 4 (Taylor, Adele, Psy and 1D) sell more than 300k.
Taylor down to 0.45, roughly the same lead in both the UK and the US now then (still slightly bigger in the UK where Rihanna is at 0.4).
One Direction's "Live While We're Young," meanwhile, is still tracking to start with a sales week of perhaps more than 300,000

Billboard. com still thinks that 1D will be around 300k, in my opinion they should sell more.

What was the last Bond theme to make the Billboard Top 10?

It can't have been Madonna, because back in 2002 airplay rigged the chart too much..

It was Madonna she reached number 8 with Die another day....

If you think it can't have been Madonna because of her current radio blacklisting, that only started in 2003 with 'American Life'. When she released 'Die Another Day', she was still a radio staple.

Anyone who think the Saturdays will flop should wait and see before commentating. If the Americans thought they would flop, they would have not gained a US Record deal.
Also, looks like the situation over here is slimiar to the UK one. Adele is winning, and One Direction may miss out.
Cudi :/ Watching him hit #11 and then fall is so frustrating...
I wonder how much Adele will sell in the US though. Even a 300K sales with her initial airplay should be enough for a #1 perhaps? Katy Perry's "Part of me" debuted on the BB100 at #1 with about 400K sales and 0 airplay if I recall right.
Amazing for Adele, love to see this. Loving Skyfall at the moment, its such a cool, sophisticated song.

I like it as an Adele fan but I find it boring otherwise. But then again, I hate all Bond songs except "Die another day".

Katy probably had a lot of airplay, since the previous week she debuted at #1 on the Bubbling Under chart on airplay alone, and her airplay would've increased even more on the release week. Also, that was before they included streaming.

I think We R Who We R debuted at #1 with about 300,000 sales. But now you'd probably need 400,000 on a quiet week.

Yes but that was before the new chart rules which increased the importance of airplay and streaming... Now u need at least 500 k or more to compete for the number 1 spot without airplay... boyfriend by Justin Bieber sold more than 500 k in the US yet it only made number 2....

PSY and Marron 5 will have two first position on the BB100, Adele with 1D and Taylor will be in top 5.
