I've liked 3 of the 5 promo singles she's released so far (Never, Trouble, Grace).

By trying to appeal to a wider base, she may have alienated her country fans.

Will be interesting to see how her 1st week numbers are affected.

I think she has achieved her aim of appealing to a wider audience, if We Are Never... is anything to go by.

I imagine first week sales will be higher then her previous album

Taylor really seems unbeatable in America at the moment, knocking her own song down to 0.45 :o

One Direction down to #15 now.

Simon knows they won't last forever so just capitalise on the seasonal sales for the 2nd album....funnily enough, I actually quite liked the boys on X Factor. I loved their version of Torn. And I loved both "Beautiful" and "1 thing" from the 1st album despite them being typical boyband songs. Shame their new song sounds so diluted and so obviously "get an album out so we can cash in on sales soon".

I'm thinking she'll do 1m+ again if the promo singles are anything to go by. Yes she may have lost some support from country but that should be countered by the wider audience she's brought on board this time (just look at how well this era is doing in the UK compared to her last era).

Anyway, this is officially the 4th time that Slaylor has held both #1 and #2 on US iTunes at the same time. :D

Kelly Clarkson  #9

Ke$ha still as high as #4 - she's having so much more longevity than I'd thought! I love seeing her doing much better than Rihanna on iTunes when Rihanna is beating her on radio (although Ke$ha's song is more commercial so it's expected). Have we any news on a video for 'Die Young' yet? I'm wondering now if it could yet go #1.

Her digital numbers will be HUGE, and she's releasing on a Monday too.

Ooh yes come on Kelly :D

Digital songs;

Taylor (IKYWT.) [416k]

PSY [231k]

Adele [199k]

Maroon 5 [160k]

Ke$ha [139k]

fun. [137k]

Taylor (WANEGBT) [124k]

Alex Clare [108k]

Rihanna [<108k]

Taylor (Red) [102k]

Should be a top 3 debut for Taylor then.

I'm also a bit surprised at how well Kelly is doing on iTunes, airplay hasn't been big out of the gate and I just don't think it's anything special, no 'Stronger' by any means.

Gosh! I Knew You Were Trouble sold 416k this week, I think Taylor's going to debut at #1! :o first promo single ever?

Hot 100;

#1 Maroon 5 AGAIN

#2 PSY

#3 Taylor

#4 fun.

#5 Taylor (WANEGBT)

#6 Justin Bieber

#7 Alex Clare [new peak]

#8 Ke$ha

#9 P!nk

#10 Owl City

#11 Rihanna

#12 Ne-Yo

#13 Adele

Bit disappointed, I got quite psyched that Taylor would do something amazing and debut at #1 with a promo single, obviously #3 is amazing too with little airplay but I was really believing it would happen! Ah well, it was a bit much to ask tbf :P
I thought she might (or at least #2) given she sold even more than 1D who were #3 last week but then I realised that they had some airplay too.

Bit of a fail on my part. :D Streaming must be more of an advantage than I realised. I'd hoped The Edge Of Glory would become the first promo-single to hit #1 but Rolling In The Deep stopped it.

Great to see Ke$ha top ten too. I can't get enough of this track atm!

Get lost Maroon 5. Just give him ONE week to make headlines.
