February 19, 201312 yr Plus I know from previous editions once the tracklist is revealed, you get others who didn't get the album to review saying "wow, sounds amaze, link pls" and comments like that so everyone wins in the end. :D
February 19, 201312 yr Although I'm interested at the idea of making a tailored CD, at the same time I don't think I'd have more than 3 or 4 unknown songs to suit certain people's tastes
February 19, 201312 yr I'd like to know who I'm making a CD for, but not who I've received one from. As nice as it would be to introduce Gooddelta to more Math Rock, I don't think it'd go down too well. Oh and I was abroad for the entirety of the CD swap so didn't get to take part in the last one. I think I was having a mini-teenage breakdown (lol) during the second one and that went WRONG and I don't even remember the first happening.
February 19, 201312 yr I don't really think it would make much of a difference either way, my taste isn't that obscure, so both of my CD's would look the same  I would be up for this though, I really enjoyed the CD I got last time.
February 19, 201312 yr I think it'd be a shame to take away the anonymity, as it really adds an extra edge, especially in guessing who sent yours. Furthermore I quite enjoyed receiving an album that was quite a bit away from my ordinary taste, and it has expanded my horizon a bit musically. Edited February 19, 201312 yr by Horatio
February 19, 201312 yr Author Just to clarify — everything would still be anonymous! So you'd be receiving a PM from me with a link and not know who made your CD. The only difference is that you would know who you were making the mix for before sending it out instead of when the review thread opens, so you could sort of tailor it to their taste in music (the emphasis would still be on discovering new music though, of course!) If people are against this though, I am happy going either way. I just bring this up in response to situations where, for instance, I got Harve's CD a few swaps ago and literally knew 18 of the 20 songs. I don't think it was much fun for him to read through a review that was like "I know this" "know this" "oh this".

I know it relies on everyone who signs up actually making one but if you were to make the draw of who gets who beforehand, for instance Person A makes for B, B for C, C for D, D for E and E for A. A, B and C would rather make it with a specific person in mind whilst D & E wouldn't want to know who was receiving theirs, it should surely still work?
February 26, 201312 yr (confused by RFC's post) He's saying you could have the option of knowing who you're making a CD for, and I agree.
