I agree. I also think the same about the new Far East Movement/Cover Drive and B.o.B/Taylor Swift songs.

Instead of doing mash-ups, maybe an interesting concept is a "mash-down". Getting one of the parts of the song and making an entire song like it.

I agree, but I think that somehow makes it sound better. The whole song feels like it's almost unfinished so it's a lot more 'understated' than other songs of its kind (like the two Roll Deep #1s) which I really like even if it wasn't done intentionally.

So would you class Rihanna's LTWYL part 2 as a mash down Eric?

Sort of, but I wouldn't find the need to do a mash-down with that song since it sounds like one song to me (like the chorus is similar to the verses, so it's not the sort of thing that sounds like two different songs that you'd want to "split" into seperate songs).

Public Enemy are top 40 on iTunes!!! :o

The song's being used in the awesome trailer for the Paralympic Games. Was shocked to discover it was by Public Enemy when I first saw the ad.

Oh, I see. I don't think I ever heard the song before, but I just listened to it, and I really like it.

I hope they play the trailer a LOT on TV next week so it can chart top 40.

I think Take Control flopping probably made Wiley stop doing songs like that.

I think we will. Here is one of the ads they're running with the song:
