Well, Call Me Maybe wasn't that unexpected, it just got an early release. :P Otherwise it would've been #1. CMM was meant to be released the week after CSN.

I didn't mean Call Me Maybe was unexpected, I meant the outcome was, I recall people being sure Conor Maynard would get to number 1 with no problem until it was clear it was lagging behind Carly. Although granted Vegas Girl doesn't have the same competition

What about Gotye or did he not debut in the to 20?

Started 97-36-21 and has spent the 25 weeks since in the top 20 :P

Just downloaded that new Two Door Cinema Club song - Sleep Alone - its a great comeback!!
Where do you lot think Connor Maynard - Vegas Girl will chart? i think it will get to number 1

I hope it gets #1. It'll go top 10 at least, I'm sure.

As it's apparently gonna be added at 59p, I think it'll get to #1, seeing as Florence's sales won't be that high. Although, there is the problem of Maroon 5 having yet ANOTHER version of Payphone from Monday, due to Now! 82...

I've heard of the other two, but not Cedric Gervais - I suppose I should look him up.

It's a song about someone looking for a woman named Molly who keeps looking mysteriously at the camera while in the middle of people dancing in a nightclub.

Vegas Girl is one of the most cringe worthy songs I've ever heard, which obviously means it'll go to #01.

The general UK buying public are so far beyond embarrassing

I agree, it's not great and I'd even say 'Can't Say No' is better and I wasn't keen on that track either. Then again, I doubt Conor Maynard's target audience is people 30+ so naturally I think this. :P Have you seen the video? The opening acting scene is the definition of cringe. Up there with Xtina's "acting" at the start of the 'What A Girl Wants' music video. If you can't act, you shouldn't be acting.

That said, I doubt Karmin are really aimed at the 30+ audience but I really like 'Brokenhearted'. I'm still on the fence regarding 'Mollie' - that ghastly robotic vocal kills the song for me. :(

^they were entered into BJSC a few months ago, I don't think I'd actually know if it weren't for that :P

I've just youtubed Molly - seems to be one of those 'wtf?' style records like Internet Friends, Loca People & Barbra Streisand, I quite like it though :P I still can't see it going to number 1

I just checked Conor's debut sales week for "Can't Say No" on sales of 74,792 and peaked at #2 in its first week. There is a chance he could grab #1 with "Vegas Girl", but it won't be as huge as his previous track.

I've just listened to the Conor, Karmin and Molly things and they are all hideous. Florence to somehow make it 3 weeks please.

Maroon 5 might make up the competition as well, cherry picks from the new NOW compilation album :D

This should probably be in the iTunes album thread but Talk That Talk is back up #3 on the album chart because it is £3.99, this is the first time i've seen an album for that much on iTunes

Also is Wiley releasing "Heatwave" this week? I think that it could be a shock #1 whenever it is released, its airplay has been crazy, its everywhere on Radio 1 and Capital FM also on all the music channels.

Karmin?! What on earth? Is this what being old feels like? I literally have NO IDEA

It's just the lesser of three evils if you like. As C.W. mentioned, Karmin were in BJSC a few months back - didn't get any points from me but I didn't dislike the track either. It's just grown on me with me hearing the song more, the same happened with 'Call Me Maybe'.

As for the whole age thing, my dad liked 'Who Let The Dogs Out' back in 2000 so yes, be afraid. :D

Won't that mean it will only chart on the budget chart?

Maybe, but that would be bad for Rihanna. That chart is only for records that are not expected to do well, and she's done well.

The Budget album chart has NOTHING to do with popularity or how an album performed previously. Albums that prices decrease under £3.75 will go automatically to the Budget chart.
