A #13 single for her in the summer of 2010 this song seemed inescapable for me, my then thirteen year old sister was obsessed with at had it on loop for a month. Sad times :(. Welcome to the countdown Burkey! Your career maybe effectively over now thanks to floppage of your latest single and album but it is worth remembering in early 2010 she was on top of her game, in fact this is the first of four appearances for her in our chart (Elephant is also at #120 if any one wondered). Bad Boys was her first official release following her X Factor win and released in November 2009 it immediately hit #1 only to be dethroned a week later by Alex's own X-Factor mentor Cheryl Cole. Never the less the single was huge and charted well into this decade selling 191k. As the song goes, it's actually alright and probobaly my favourite from her

Second entry here for the second most sucessfull British female of 2011 and her fourth top ten hit peaking at #8 in December 2011 mostly down to an amazing X Factor performance from Misha B, who to be honest probably sang it better than Jessie does. Jessie's version is OK and Who You Are is the kind of music she should go back to but I can't stand how screechy this becomes towards the end

It showed all the signs as it was a massive #1 in Australia and had lots of hype but radio never caught on to it and instead it just hung around the bottom end of the chart for ages.

It was number 1 for like 5 weeks in Australia, and I was certain it was going at least top 10 here - it did in Ireland but obviously just flopped in at #25 here... The download age has been great for big sellers with low peaks, hasn't it! But surely the biggest selling non-T20 hit has gotta be Florence's Dog Days Are Over (~400k to this week). Unless anyone can think of something else?

I think before it peaked at #8 following Amy's death "Back to Black" could've been in the running. It originally peaked at #25 but was around for ages

Some minor changes this month. Take It Off, Hollywood, and What The Hell lose their positions in the Top 100 thanks to new entries from Emeli Sande (My Kind of Love); Rihanna (You Da One) and Paloma Faith (Picking Up the Pieces)

 

Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" becomes the 5th single by a female artist to sell over a million this decade but stays at #5 on the countdown. She will most likely over take Rihanna's "Only Girl In the World" in the not too distant future and possibly "Price Tag" by Jessie J as well.

 

Some minor movement in the Top 20 as Nicki Minaj moves up to #11 with Starships and Emeli Sande makes it to #20 with "Next to Me" pushing Jessie J's "Do It Like a Dude" out

 

Cheryl Cole (Call My Name) and Rita Ora (R.I.P) climb into the Top 40 pushing Ellie Goulding (Starry Eyed) and Lady Gaga (Alejandro) out. Next month should also see Tulisa move into the Top 40 with Young which means Pixie Lott will loose her Top 40 position with All About Tonight

 

I'd also expect new entries next month from Loreen (#102 with Euphoria); Rita Ora (#109 with How We Do) and Nicki Minaj (#116 with Pound the Alarm) as well as Pink with One Last Kiss and Taylor Swift with We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together

The Diamonds are the name she gives for her fans, so she's by all accounts a solo artist. The clue was when she started making music with no live instruments.

I agonized for a while over the Florence/Marina issue but in the end I knew Florence & The Machine were a band so couldn't include them. If I had Say My Name and Shake It Out would've been in the Top 100

So, as September draws to a close there's been some minor movement at the top of the chart. Call Me Maybe overtakes Only Girl and could potentially overtake Price Tag and climb to #3 by the end of October. New entries in the Top 100 come from Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Rita Ora and Emeli Sande

October should bring some new tracks into the T100 with new songs from Rihanna, Ellie Goulding, Taylor Swift, Adele, Nicki Minaj and Christina Aguilera all being released

I thought they both seemed a bit high; luckily Make You Feel My Love made the T200 year-end in 2010 and 2011 so I've got an accurate amount until Y/E 2011 just need to find the sales for this year now. I've also got the 2010 figures for Alicia Keys as well. Thank you for pointing those out

 

As for the dated figures, I can only update as and when I find any information. I'd be glad to know a place where I could find more up to date figures though
