It's OK, it has definitely grown on me the more I listened to it. I do still prefer the original but I know this has a much better shot at doing well in the BJSC.

Just a few questions; if confirmation closes tonight then why do we have to wait 2 days for semis to open? And what even IS the semi final showcase? We've been told it's some way of deciding how the semis will look like but we don't know anything other than that.

 

And on another note, great to see 53 confirmed countries! The past few weeks in the charts have been stale so I'm looking forward to discovering some new songs :heart:

it's basically a fancy way of first hearing the entries / splitting them into order etc. and i'll need the 2 days to sort that out once confirmations have closed. it's just a nice little extra and it means everyone gets to hear all of the entries instead of just their own semi~

I'm really looking forward to the showcase for the reasons you mention Leww! It will allow each country to have a few minutes of focus on their song and will allow us the opportunity to hear songs from both semis! I've always hoped someone would bring back this showcase type event, as in a couple of the first ever contests I believe they did a live running order draw and I thought that was a great idea!

I fully hope to see the track smash in The Netherlands. Hopefully it'll pick up momentum in other countries. It's almost Gotye-esque levels of taking off (only on a much smaller scale). First charted in Australia, now Dutch charts. It'll be a UK top 10 hit in 12 months time. :D

I wasn't referring to a showcase, just a live running order draw. I could remember when I was collating the threads of interest that there was a running order topic for BJSC 3 and a summary topic in BJSC 1 and 2. Admittedly, looking at it now it seems it wasn't a "live" draw, just an immediate reveal. But it is great that this showcase is going to happen as it is something new for the contest and I can't wait! :cheer:
