Are people honestly still expecting How We Do's release to be brought forward? I understand this view 2 months ago, but isn't the only reason to rush release if a fake version starts gettig high on the chart? I think it's about time to accept that it will be released when it has always been scheduled.

The fact is the stereotypical fanbase for 'rap' are more likely to illegally download, rather then the fans of 'pop' songs. Rap songs can sell big because some pop fans will buy the rap songs especially when there is a catchy pop chorus or if a collab. Ofcourse you have rap fans who do buy legally, but more will illegally download the albums, but may not mind spending 99p for a single track.

Also vidcapper you do have big selling rap albums from the likes of Eminem, Kanye & Jay-Z.

I think you're right.

But Sam And The Womp's fake is very high #43. If anything this song's release could be brought forward.

The Remix EP is #74 on iTunes Albums though.

at least it's charting somewhere.

Wonder if it may even be made next single?

She hinted on Radio 1 that 'Wonder' could be next single!

I wanna so badly that My Kind Of Love gets played on Olympics, that song deserves more sales, although it did good enough with low peak!

Mariah #134 now.

I expected 'You Got The Dirtee Love' to be one of them.

Off 2 Work only reached #44, so it's hardly a good example of a cross-over hit (leaving aside that it was 8 years ago, not 5).

While I'll grant you that DD made #1, it was in fact the lowest-selling #1 of 2010...

I doubt he was being serious. 'Bonkers' is clearly one of them.

11. Lawson - Taking Over Me

45. Emeli Sande - River

51. Dizzee Rascal feat. Pepper - Scream

52. & 77. Redlight - Lost In Your Love

134. Mariah Carey - Triumphant

150. Of Monsters And Men - Little Talks

at least it's charting somewhere.

Ooo yes 'Wonder' is a good one, went down really well at her concert!

Ftr "Survival" is getting played before every Olympic football game with its video on the big screen, I've heard that the same is happening at a lot of other events as well.

Yep, it was played in full at the Handball last week.

RE: Dizzee Rascal. "Dance Wiv Me" was a massive hit, yes in 2008 which was a fair while ago now but you cannot describe that as a fanbase hit.

Eminem I'll give you - but KW/JZ has only sold ~241k, well below what you might expect for artists with their level of singles success.

I wonder if the fact that it *hasn't* generated significant sales of fakes, means that it will not perform as well as this furum has predicted? Might it just become another 'non-#1'?

Indeed. Dance Wiv Me and Bonkers were the two I was referring to. Two absolutely massive songs which appealed to so many people wouldn't typically like rap.

That is true, but just look at their tour dates and how many tickets they sold! WTT has been huge, but many many people will own from downloading illegally without a doubt.

Jay-Z and Kanye have sold a lot of albums though in their career, and are rap artists. So rap albums can sell and be a success.

Lawson presumably are that band signed to the label that is owned by the same company as CRAPital FM (given the undue airtime it's been getting on their stations recently).

Yeah they are signed to the company who own Capital.

I really don't get Lawson. :(

Maybe they'll grow in popularity over time but the fact 'When She Was Mine' plummeted 04-24 made me think their entry at #4 was artificial in the first place. As if their single was only available on limited stock of cd singles, and not on iTunes.

Having heard the new song, it's certainly better but overall I'm just not feeling the Lawson love.

On another note, whilst I suppose it was to be expected (due to lack of airplay), I'm a bit gutted to see 'Little Talks' way down at #135 and would like to believe this will become a genuine slow burner hit and possibly make the top 20 at least in a few weeks.

But Wonder isn't Emeli's single is it? I'm sure I heard her say somewhere that it was gonna be Naughty Boy's debut single, and she was just featuring on it. It's not on her album at any rate. I always assumed Read All About It, Part III was going to br the next single. It seems like the obvious choice to me.
