Rihanna's first of 8 solo entries is a huge fall for 'Russian Roulette', and The Killers and Estelle keep up their decent runs within the top 200.
August 12, 201212 yr 195 - 65 Christina Aguilera - ‘Hurt’ 4.359 (X - 200 - 186 - 66 - 65 - 195) 194 - RE (260) Kings Of Leon - ‘Sex On Fire’ 4.364 (83 - 119 - X - 194) 193 - RE (219) Coldplay - ‘Fix You’ 4.381 (X - 25 - 122 - 61 - X - X - 193) 192 - 157 Jamelia - ‘Superstar’ 4.382 (44 - 94 - 38 - 124 - 100 - 157 - 192) 191 - 92 Cee-Lo Green - ‘Forget You’ 4.390 (92 - 191) http://www.musicvf.com/wp/cache/img_song/JMGSong_9419.jpghttp://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/7/7a/Jamelia-superstar.jpg/220px-Jamelia-superstar.jpg This section opens up with a hefty fall from grace for Xtina’s Hurt, having spent a couple of years up in the mid-60s, it crashes back down its previous haunts at the edge of the top 200. Re-entries from outside the top 200 come from Sex On Fire, a song I will be quite happy to never hear again, and one from Coldplay. Fix You made the top 25 in its second year on this but has fallen out of favour since, only barely making it in this time after two years outside. Just ahead of it is a past Buzzjack fave in Jamelia’s Superstar that has been steadily spiralling downwards since the very beginning, if it manages to make it in on its next year, a feat looking unlikely following this pattern, it’ll exit the game with a 100% record. A 99 place fall for one of last year’s big hits completes the section as Forget You falls to a position that is probably more predictable and deserving in Buzzjack’s pantheon of favoured big hits.
August 12, 201212 yr 190 [RE {273}] Jordin Sparks - Battlefield 4.395 [191-X-190] 189 [184] Coldplay - The Scientist 4.400 [X-X-X-104-76-184-189] 188 [NE {295}] Swedish House Mafia feat. Pharrell - One (Your Name) 4.415 [X-188] 187 [RE {332}] Holly Valance - Kiss Kiss 4.429 [X-X-X-111-104-X-187] 186 [122] Cheryl Cole - Fight For This Love 4.442 [X-122-186] http://chartarchive.org/artwork/19242-300.jpghttp://chartarchive.org/artwork/41079-300.jpg Two songs return to the top 200 after a year out. The lower of the two, Jordin Sparks' 'Battlefield', reaches a new peak albeit barely, coming back in at #190 after coming 191st two years back. Holly Valance is also back at #187 with 'Kiss Kiss'. There's also a very welcome new entry in the form of Swedish House Mafia's first collaborative single under that name, 'One (Your Name)', originally an instrumental but touched up with the vocal talents of N*E*R*D's Pharrell for the single release. It scraped into the top 300 on its first appearance last year but this year it comes in at #188. The other two songs in this section both put in their worst top 200 performances to date. Coldplay regress a further five places to #189 with 'The Scientist' and BuzzJack already begins to tire of Cheryl Cole's solo debut as 'Fight For This Love' slips a hefty 64 places to #186.
August 12, 201212 yr I know Sex On Fire is hardly standard BJ fare, but the idea that it ranks below Jordin Sparks as a classic is utterly ridiculous.
August 13, 201212 yr Pleased to see Estelle hang on to a top 200 position. I'm slightly surprised that Cheryl Cole's "Fight For This Love" hasn't really gone down as a classic on here. I know the voting has been a bit indie based the last few years, but I still expected it to be a top 100 staple for some reason.
August 13, 201212 yr Author 185 - NE Example 'Change The Way You Kiss Me' 4.452 (185) 184 - 83 Goldfrapp 'A&E' 4.455 (89 - X - 83 - 184) 183 - RE (342) Timbaland and OneRepublic 'Apologize' 4.462 (X - 103 - X - X - 183) 182 - 196 The Temper Trap 'Sweet Disposition' 4.465 (X - 196 - 182) 181 - RE (287) Natalie Imbruglia 'Shiver' 4.476 (200 - 121 - 143 - 81 - 137 - X - 181) http://a4.ec-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/77/366e80a3d4e575b3f086edae20925160/l.jpg Here we have the first of the 2011 entries with Example's number one single 'Change The Way You Kiss Me'. Goldfrapp continue a developing pattern of a good year followed by a poor one, but at least they don't fall out this time, there's a re-entry and massive climb for Timbaland and OneRepublic, The Temper Trap reach a new peak with slow burning 2009 single 'Sweet Disposition' and Natalie Imbruglia is back with 'Shiver' after falling out last year for the first time.
August 13, 201212 yr Nothing too amazing so far imo, glad to see 'Russian Roulette' get some recognition though!
August 13, 201212 yr Hurt so low?!? Why the fall, one of my top 5 favourite songs of all time :( Major  for Fight For This Love, Russian Roulette, Shiver, Battlefield and Russian Roulette!
August 13, 201212 yr Author Hurt so low?!? Why the fall, one of my top 5 favourite songs of all time :( Major  for Fight For This Love, Russian Roulette, Shiver, Battlefield and Russian Roulette! I remember with Hurt it got three massive scores right at the end (one yours) which must have pushed it up about 20 places in the 2006 game!
August 13, 201212 yr 180 - RE (215) Jordin Sparks ft. Chris Brown - ‘No Air’ 4.477 (163 - 89 - X - 180) 179 - 165 Hot Chip - ‘Ready For The Floor’ 4.477 (X - X - 165 - 179) 178 - 127 Aaliyah - ‘More Than A Woman’ 4.486 (X - X - X - 91 - 122 - 127 - 178) 177 - 104 Girls Aloud - ‘Sexy! No No No’ 4.487 (X - 42 - 99 - 104 - 177) 176 - 121 Shakira - ‘She Wolf’ 4.488 (X - 121 - 176) http://newspaper.li/static/7ce0aa87df222688fb260243114d6aa2.jpg Jordin Sparks’ second entry in 10 places, and its her duet with Chris Brown - unsurprisingly, his only appearance in the top 200, returning after falling out last year, and for my (possibly disastrous) taste, it’s the best song in here. Hot Chip’s biggest hit holds fairly steady, Ready For The Floor spending a second year inside the charting region; the main thing I know about it is remembering being quite annoyed by it at the time. Aaliyah gets her best... and (possibly) most known track just ahead of them, it was a #1 in 2002 following her tragic death (:() but is one of those I find it hard to believe was a #1 years later, although us moving on from 2002 means this likely marks Aaliyah’s final appearance in this game barring Drake managing anything with Enough Said. Shakira’s least best lead single from an English album, although by her standards, that’s still a good one, She Wolf falls to the bottom eighth of the results, and the biggest fall in this set of 5 comes from a Girls Aloud song that hasn’t aged well at all for me, and given the run of Sexy! No No No, several of you agree.
August 13, 201212 yr 175 [61] Rihanna - Don't Stop The Music 4.500 [92-63-61-175] 174 [NE] No Doubt - Hey Baby 4.514 [X-X-X-X-X-X-174] 173 [RE {272}] Britney Spears - Piece Of Me 4.523 [102-85-X-173] 172 [NE] Kanye West - All Of The Lights 4.524 [172] 171 [78] Rihanna - Unfaithful 4.538 [X-102-X-X-78-171] http://snarkerati.com/movie-news/files/2008/10/britney-spears-bald.jpg Two new entries in this section, one finally making it in on its very last chance and one blasting straight in on its first chance (the latter being the second such song to appear in this top 200). No Doubt are best known for a song thankfully too old to put in an appearance in this game but lesser known 2002 hit 'Hey Baby' finally earns a top 200 position, specifically #174, after failing in each of the last six editions of this game. 'All Of The Lights' first appeared in 2010 off that year's Kanye West album 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' but wasn't released as a single until 2011 and thus is only now a new entry at #172. There's also an awful re-entry for cray era Britney, with 'Piece Of Me' returning to #173 after hitting a peak of #85 two years ago. Meanwhile, Rihanna's best song sadly finishes outside the top 100 for the first time yet with 'Don't Stop The Music' crashing down 114 places from its #61 peak of last year to #175. The Barbadian is also in freefall with her most bearable ballad single 'Unfaithful' which plummets 93 places from #78 (also a new peak last year) to #171.
August 14, 201212 yr Firstly - who is Jordin Sparks? Secondly - sad to see Hot Chip so low Thirdly - delighted to see Rihanna falling down the charts - her voice is grating and she really needs to hide away for a while.
August 14, 201212 yr I'm not that happy about the Rihanna falls. I used to think Don't Stop The Music was one of her worst but it's aged well and I'm now of the opinion that it's a highlight of Good Girl Gone Bad. And then Unfaithful is my favourite song ever (and Russian Roulette up there too) so a little disappointed to see them all falling in the region of 100 places. But then.. I'm a fan.
August 14, 201212 yr Author Considering where 'Unfaithful' had been up until last year it was clearly an anomaly. I still think it's her worst ballad, probably worst song, her voice is SO grating on it compared to something like 'Take A Bow'. Pleased that 'Piece of Me' has climbed back in after last years huge drop. The three singles from that album are my favourites of hers by MILES.
August 14, 201212 yr Yeah, I think "Unfaithful" would have had a mini burst of popularity last year after it recharted when she performed it on the X Factor, she has much better ballads.
