Urgh. On the plus side Churr and One Direction are falling :cheer:

That is just an awful #1. Of all the people who could have got it, Flo is the worst. And that's Ellie's shot at #1 gone now with Taylor taking over next week. :(

Nice to see Good Time moving up even if it is at Cher's expense and it's pleasing to see Alex Clare rising too.

Seems to be a bit of an error with 'I Will Wait'. It's new at #23, not #25 (the positions of fun. and One Direction are correct). Brilliant to see it entering higher than 'The Cave' peaked and it's still #10 on iTunes so hopefully it will have some longevity!

Yay for 'Chasing The Sun' finally cracking the top 50 and 'The A Team' going back up. Didn't realise 'Too Close' had got so high :o

Yay for Ed, and can only go up next week as he bolted into the 60s/70s of iTunes since this chart was published. Alex has been a dark horse as well.... I thought popularity would die down and was solely due to the ad but radio is on board now as well.

I noticed earlier in the week that Taylor Swift's new single went in at #1 upon its release on US iTunes. On Kworb it was 0.0000 then 1.0000 1 hour later with #2 on something like 0.4000!!! Literally must've sold several bucketloads in that first hour or so, and to debut at #72 with barely a whole week of sales, and possibly no airplay as of yet suggests this is going to be massive.

Like Umi has posted, I reckon there's a very good chance Taylor will be #1 next week. Her tracks are usually very successful anyways but this is taking off in quite an extraordinary way.

What's even worse about such an abysmal song going to #1 over such a fabulous one is we all thought 'oh it's Carly vs. Ellie vs. Katy' and it was all quite close and exciting (although personally I thought Ellie could have done it over the others) and then in the biggest anti-climax ever it ends up being Whistle!

Good to see Too Close doing so well, The A Team on the rise and Some Nights getting into the top 10 though.

Taylor debuted on the Hot 100 this week due to airplay rather than sales I think. Because the tracking week for sales and airplay cover different days. It's happened with a few songs, like What's My Name?, Live Your Life, etc. where they debut at the low end of the top 100 due to airplay alone then "climb" to #1 the week later. It almost happened with Part of Me this year too, except it just missed out on the Hot 100 and instead debuted at #1 on the Bubbling Under chart.

On another note, lmao at all the meltdowns on pop forums about Whistle. It's no more (or less) trashy than the songs Nicki and Ke$ha do.

Ellie wasted a golden opportunity of going to Number 1 by not promoting Lights the week it reached number 2 in the BB hot 100 that's why it tumbled down the iTunes chart very fast and wasted its only opportunity of reaching number 1 ...

Now it's at number 17 in the iTunes chart therefore it's chances are gone unless it is performed on Glee in the next 2 weeks...

Will Maroon 5 and Gotye ever go away  its beyond ridiculous that they are still top 10 even though they're barely top 30 on itunes now...is their radio play still that good? surely radio are sick to death of spinning those songs...and one would think the american audience is sick to death of hearing them. Plus its preventing other songs who should be top 10 from getting there or going higher because of it.

my thought exactly.... i feel they've been in the top 10 for years....

^ Surely Where Have You Been is even more disturbing. It was #45 on iTunes last time I checked, and it's still #10 in the Hot 100 (no doubt to those extra rhythmic spins that she gets just because she's black ).

At least Somebody That I Used to Know and Payphone were genuinely big hits.

I want Cher Lloyd to go Top 10. I'm not a huge fan of hers but her album is pretty strong and Want U Back is a superb single choice.
