I pointed that out earlier  it would actually make a great #1 for that fact alone, as I can't remember any one else where a father and son had a #1 years apart and apparently Aaron Horn is also a record producer, and he owns a record company with his sister Alexandra Horn so there is a few connections there.

As for the record the track is awful but its beginning to grow on me. -_-

Just one that springs to mind is Chesney Hawkes who's dad was Chip who was in the Tremeloes who had a No 1 in 1966 I think with "Silence Is Golden" :D

I hate these random dance tracks that become huge, I wouldn't have minded Avicii but this is AWFUL, reminds of that hideous Americano song ergh.

It used to happen most years in the 90s/early 00s but had died out until Americano!

I think Redfoo is Sky Blu's uncle or something like that, and they've both had a #1 (yes, I KNOW this is a silly example ).
Julio Iglesias and Enrique Iglesias have both had #1 hits on their own.

Julio Iglesias had hits in the UK? really?

Yes, including 2 number 1 singles in 1982.

Why the surprise?

Yup! 3 top 5 hits, including a #1. I think this is the most obvious example of a parent and child both having #1s in the UK, the rest will be fairly obscure examples that aren't instantly noticeable.

Probably because of how sleep inducing it was  (well, Begin the Beguine anyway)

Also Frank and Nancy Sinatra for the record. They did it separately and as a duet.

I remember that it was 1981 it knocked Queen & David Bowie / Under Pressure off for a week, and the Human League followed it with Don't You Want Me

I don't really know

Because I've always thought the only spaniard (except Las Ketchup) who had a hit in the UK was her son and that the only places where he had hits were in South America and a couple of them in the US.

I can't help but laugh when I look back at songs that were #1 in the UK from years ago. That Julio Iglesias chart topper really is dreadful and I can't help but wonder why it was popular enough to be a #1 single. It's not like 'Bom Bom' or 'Loca People' which are like gimmicks rather than actual songs. 'Begin The Beguine' is just a really boring ballad put to a disco beat to camouflage it's dullness.

I'm loving how this thread has been completely derailed by Julio Iglesias. The i-tunes thread is unlike any other on Buzzjack you just NEVER know where it's gonna go! :D

Sak Noel (a Spanish DJ) had a #1 UK hit last year with the novelty European hit "Loca People" (although ironically, the song was not a hit in his native Spain! ).

DJ Sammy (another Spanish DJ) had a #1 with his cover of Bryan Adams' "Heaven" too.

So glad that Pound the Alarm is out of the top 10 again (and it's even more funny because Devlin, Angel and Trey Songz currently occupy the #8-#10 positions ). I just have to hope now that it doesn't climb back in again. :drama:

On another note, Train are down to #82 now, so I think they'll never get top 40 with that song.

Just to confirm now that 'The Midsummer Station' is available, 'Good Time' is album only as was expected!

I really don't understand why it's been made album only. By doing so, it's not going to help sell the album - especially if most of the album tracks sound rubbish from the preview.

Another missed opportunity. :D 'Good Time' would've easily gone top 10 next Sunday from cherry pickings.
