Obviously the only way somebody can find a Taylor Swift song to be utter rubbish on here is due to reasons outside of the quality of the music, because let's face it, this current single of hers is very blatantly an absolute masterpiece

Some Nights  #21

This song means soooo much to me. The lyrics cut right through me (especially the ones about the sister) It really HAS to be top 10!

The new song from Muse, Madness is now available from iTunes :D

Yap, and another BIG flop by them for a FANTASTIC song... but the OA/OS doesn't work for them at all.

You're fine to have your opinion and think it's rubbish, my problem is that some of your posts seem to be intentionally hating on her/the song (see the post I quoted before) in a way that it could be seen as something different.

I say this with Taylor & Gaga being my two favourite artists.

I'm just expressing my delight to see a song which I can not abide stall. Nothing more to it. No biggie

Impressive performance for Watchtower, wasn't sure it had enough mainstream appeal for a Top 10.

IN LOVE WITH IT!

It's sounded so WRONG to me in first listen but the last minute and a half is PERFECTION.

Yeah, it's certainly less mainstream-friendly than Runaway, and that missed the top 10, and I remember it being on Radio 1 all the time. I'm sure Ed Sheeran being on this song is helping a lot though, and I guess Devlin himself it probably a bit more well-known now.

Why are Public Enemy at #13?

It's being used in an advert for the paralymics I think? I think it's a really good song. I'd be delighted if it goes top 10 (although there's a lot of tracks I love hovering around the low end of the top 10 on iTunes atm, so it might come at a price ).

Madness is NOT a Muse song. I mean it's good that they aren't producing the same old music over and over again but I mean c'mon at least keep some of your identity! From the preview on iTunes it sounds like they've made it in half an hour

It's so bizarre seeing so much old music hovering around in the iTunes top 100. Obviously price reductions are a massive part of that, but the lack of any new, huge records in general this year has made for such a dull year for music. :nocheer:

Hoping things start looking up. Ke$ha's on her way back, Gaga's new music is looking less and less likely for this year, but we've got her collab with Kendrick Lamar coming, obviously Xtina. Eh, everything's just a bit too stagnant for my liking.

I'd say it's in line with Undisclosed desires from the last album (Resistance)

Muse are a very varied band, and that's why I love them. What other band can get away with releasing a prog Rock song like Survival to a electro track like Madness?

Try to listen to this more than once and focused on the last 2 minutes. EPIC.

Muse  to 45

It's climbing up pretty fast now. It would be great if Survival could hang in the Top 40 too, so we could potentially have two Muse songs Top 40 this week. Probably wishful thinking though sadly. :(

I assume you're talking predominantly about female pop music here, since I think there's a good amount going on this year outside of that, but I do agree with you if you're specifically talking about female pop music.

I think it's just that there's simply not many big female pop stars around anymore. Back in 2006-2008 time, there seemed to be like a dozen female pop stars all getting hits, now it's basically just Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. Seriously, it seems like EVERYBODY flops now. :( It's such a shame. I notice a lot of people seem to find it hilarious whenever a female pop artist flops, but I don't think it is, and it would be so much more interesting if Christina Aguilera, Ciara, Nelly Furtado, Avril Lavigne, Britney Spears, Pussycat Dolls, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Shakira, etc. were able to get massive hits again, just like they were able to during that time period. It's not funny, just boring, seeing all of them flopping imo.

I think the "pop girl boom" is over now tbh. I mean, seriously, nearly every time they try and make a comeback, they flop. I think even Rihanna is going to struggle a bit with her next album. I think the Hot 100 at least, is going to be more dominated by artists like fun. and Gotye for the next few years. Let's face it, their songs are the songs that have caught public attention now, and are more interesting to people than the stuff Katy Perry, etc. have been releasing.

And the Kendrick Lamar song is not going to be big. The Recipe didn't even chart on the Hot 100, and the hype around that song before it was released was unbelievable. I'm looking forward to his album though, but he's never going to have a big chart hit.

I can't believe they discounted Mama Do the Hump...AGAIN!!! :drama: I do like the song though, but I wish they'd discount Traveller's Chant.
