August 29, 201213 yr Ouch at Fazer looking likely to miss the top 10 after Dappy and Tulisa both started with #1s - but then Fazer was always the one no one cared about in N-Dubz so if he can even stay top 15 that'll still be a pretty decent showing for him (especially as the song is jumping on a long-dead musical trend). Woo at 'Little Talks' top 15, 'One Day Like This' climbing a couple of places (I guess it's starting to pick up some airplay again?), 'Some Nights' nearly top 20, 'R.I.P.' re-entering at #22 (might be top 20 again by the end of the week), 'Too Close' continuing to inch back up and 'Beat Down' currently in the top 40 (although it'll almost certainly drop out). Public Enemy could end up as high as #4 as Owl City and Lucy Spraggan drop off :o And 'Bangarang' still holding onto the top 40! Surprised but pleased to see Elbow and Of Monsters And Men still ahead of Emeli, hope they can both stay ahead all week. 'My Head Is An Animal' could be in the chart for an age I think, similar to 'Sigh No More'. Woo for the Reading/Leeds-related boosts for Florence, Foo Fighters and especially Two Door Cinema Club - really hope 'Tourist History' stays top 40 this week. Would only be its tenth week in the top 40.
August 29, 201213 yr Where did Twin Atlantics album peak in the albums chart? Wonder if its set to beat it this week? It peaked at #37 last year, so it'll have a shot of out-doing that this week Speaking of new peaks, could El Camino possibly steal a Top 5 place? Â
August 29, 201213 yr I went on comparemyradio to see if 'One Day Like This' is being played much.  One Day Like This Track by Elbow Stations Top 40 stations that play One Day Like This 1 Heart Norfolk 48 plays 2 Heart East Midlands 47 plays 3 Heart Sussex 44 plays 4 Heart West Midlands 44 plays 5 Heart London 44 plays 6 Heart Essex 42 plays 7 Heart Kent 42 plays 8 Heart Northants 42 plays 9 Absolute Radio 39 plays 10 Heart Oxfordshire 38 plays  Heart Fodder :(
August 29, 201213 yr I say around 110k, as the track might tail off at the end of the week, mind you 50k for Sun & Mon, probably did another 15k for Tues a total of 65k so far..., plus Rita Ora just squeeze through last week. Realistically your sales prediction could be pretty much spot on.  Yeah i think your right - Pretty good showing for them and well deserved as great single

I assume Heart have also latched onto 'Read All About It (Pt. III)'. On the bright side, 'One Day Like This' should be in the chart for a while - so it's not just awful songs ('Need You Now') that get Heart-related longevity after a major performance :P Edited August 29, 201213 yr by Bré
August 29, 201213 yr Public Enemy have a golden opportunity to peak at #3/4 this Sunday..... 1.) X factor Lucy's song has been deleted 2.) Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen - Good Time has been made album only 3.) The Paralympics start tonight
August 29, 201213 yr Great position for My Head is an Animal, such a great album that could have some good longevity now that the single is rising fast   it may be able to pass Elbow by the end of the week too, on the topic of that band (never knew they had a new album out!) nice to see One Day Like This looking like having a decent chart run Edited August 29, 201213 yr by C.W
August 29, 201213 yr Apparently Little Mix has sold 60,000 so far. It's the second time I've heard a radio DJ say it on 2 different stations, so I presume it's/their accurate. Really thought that they'd of done 80k by now.
August 29, 201213 yr Author Thanks for the sales info, that should give me a clear picture of how the sales are shaping up, if the track is selling 13k for Tues, it should do roughly the same throughout the week maybe 2k less, with the exception of Saturday, so its probably looking at 110-115k for the week, unless the track drastically trails off.
August 29, 201213 yr Rita Ora is completely unworthy of three #1 singles and a #1 album, musically she is utter shite (although a total stunner lookswise). Fair play to the perfect #1 strike rate thus far though, not many do it.
August 29, 201213 yr I expected Little Mix to easily pass 130,000. The amount of airplay support and hype should have got that alone...
August 30, 201213 yr I expected Little Mix to easily pass 130,000. The amount of airplay support and hype should have got that alone... The XF hype *should* have gotten their debut single past 400k, so why would this one under-performing be a surprise?
August 30, 201213 yr Just wondering but how much did Olly Murs and JLS sell when they released their singles at the end of summer? (Although I know they didn't win, just curious)Â I think the girls have done well considering every other winner has had an X-Factor performance to boost sales. For example Alexandra Burke sold 180,000 but she also had an X-Factor performance. The girls are doing extremely well.
August 30, 201213 yr The XF hype *should* have gotten their debut single past 400k, so why would this one under-performing be a surprise? I don't think this single has been hyped much at all and given its on for approx 100k or more this week I would say 100% this is not underperforming. Have you forgotten how previous flop winners performed (Bookstein, Jackson, Curdle, Geordie Joe)?

More than i expected actually. I thought number one but with sales of around 75k.

I thought number one but with sales of around 75k. Exactly. :D If X Factor winners are given decent tracks to record then they deserve success. When they're lumbered with a cover version ('Don't Call This Love', 'Ambitions') or a more than likely rejected album track ('Run For Your Life') then it's a sign that SyCo don't really have faith in you. Without SyCo support, you will crash and burn. 'Wings' is a brilliant track imo - still think 'Bleeding Love' was better but this track has become my second favourite X Factor releated single. It's upbeat, it's fun, it's catchy and it's colourful - the four key ingredients that ensure Little Mix should have a bit of staying power.
