Kimberley Walsh is reported to have signed to appear on the next series of Strictly Come Dancing.

The Girls Aloud star recently won plaudits for her role as Princess Fiona in the West End musical adaptation of Shrek.

Now The Mirror reports that she is set to take part in the new series of the dancing contest.

A show source reportedly told the paper: "When we heard she was interested we were thrilled. Now everyone's dying to see her moves. She's a great name to have got."

Other rumoured contestants for the new series include Jerry Hall, Fern Britton and former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan.

Strictly producers are also reportedly keen on capitalising on the success of Team GB at the Olympic Games, with Rebecca Adlington, Victoria Pendleton, Steve Redgrave and Beth Tweddle all rumoured to be under consideration.

Walsh is to reunite with her Girls Aloud bandmates at the Royal Variety Performance later this year, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their triumph on ITV reality show Popstars: The Rivals.

Hmmm - i do worry what this means for the reunion as surely most of her time will be spent at Strictly if this is indeed true!

Tour is bound to be in May (as usual), and having a performance on Strictly and CiN certainly wouldn't be bad :D But there won't be much this year, other than video, a bit of high profile promotion, and of course a #1! Plus actors and other celebs have managed to juggle Strictly with their roles/jobs etc. in the past.
It's been confirmed! It's a bit dodgy that (presuming she gets far enough) she'll be appearing on the actual anniversary date/weekend. She still won't be able to persuade me to watch it, The X Factor may be fixed or too controversial for some people, but it's far preferable to watching ballroom dancing.
I'll have to watch it for a change, anything for Kimba
I will watch Strictly this year as there is a few stars on it i do like, Kimberly one of them, i can see her doing very well on it too.

Kimberley will be on Alan Carr: Chatty Man this Friday, along with Nicky Byrne, Louis Smith and Jerry Hall, to discuss the series! It'll be nice to see her on a chatshow by herself - we've seen Cheryl, Nadine and Nicola on The Graham Norton Show, Paul O'Grady Live and The Jonathan Ross Show and now it's her turn! :D She's got a great personality, so I'm sure it'll be fine for her.

She danced the Cha-Cha-Cha to "Domino" on last Saturday's show...

...and came second on the scoreboard!

She was FLAWLESS on the show ! I hope she'll be popular with the audience as well cause she really deserve to win (or get top 3 at least).
She's doing great! I thought Len was unnecessarily harsh to her tonight. Yes, her neck was a problem - but for her to receive the same score as Victoria was a joke, I thought. Victoria can't even turn by herself properly.

Here are all of her dances since then:

Foxtrot - 26 (Adele - "Someone Like You")

Quickstep - 29 (Summer Stock - "Get Happy")

Paso Doble - 31 (Duran Duran - "Hungry Like the Wolf")

Salsa - 33 (Beyoncé - "Naughty Girl")

She's doing an incredible job on the show

What are her chances of winning though? I don't know most celebs on it so I couldn't say really. I get the impression the audience of the show loves her but I have no idea about the others...

Denise Van Outen is winning most (if not all) weeks so far, but she basically is a professional dancer anyway. I'd say she has a good chance, having an already large fanbase (like Harry McFly last year, who won the series). Louis Smith is also a strong contender.

Kimberley is currently 3rd favourite to win according to bookies behind Louis and Denise. I just hope she makes it to the final.

About tonight's results (don't read if you don't wanna know) :

Apparently she was in the bottom 2 this week : ( Thank god she didn't go but still, I'm quite upset with those results. She was only second the Denise with judges' scores, so she must have got really low votes from the public to be bottom 2.

For her to be in the bottom 2, she would have been bottom with the public vote :(

Viennese Waltz - 34 (Christina Perri - "A Thousand Years")

Samba - 34 (Ricky Martin - "Livin' la Vida Loca")

Tango - 34 (Prince - "When Doves Cry")

Jive - 34 (Wilson Pickett - "Land of a Thousand Dances")

Cha-Cha-Cha and Tango - 40 (The Weather Girls - "It's Raining Men")

She became the first celebrity to receive a perfect score last week, and it was amazing! :D It's great after having received four consecutive 34s as well  Hopefully more 10s tonight!

Definitely agree with the score of 40 for Dance Fusion week. She was incredible! Kimberley and Pasha seem to be the clear winners for this series.
