I have downloaded the album & I love it with the exception of two tracks Candy & Eight Letters, but that's purely personal taste , Candy is flying towards No 1 tonight so Robbie got it right it seems & well done to him.

My absolute favourite tracks are Be A Boy, Gospel, Different & Hiunting For You , great intros, melody, lyrics & backing vocals ( it was a great idea for them to use Belle Fire for the BV's ) . The decision to go with producer Jackknife Lee was a brilliant, he like Guy Chambers brings out the best in Robbie. I also think that this could be the album that is used to bridge the gap with Guy Chamers & enables them to work together again, it has taken Robbie in a new direction & I love it. It will be interesting to see what happens after this, Robbie has quite a lot of options open to him with both his solo career ( depending I guess on how the album does ) & with Take That as they all seem to be up for having another go.

Shit That's on The Radio is also a great track, it's a pity that he used the word shit in the title as I think it would be a big hit on that radio http://www.therobbiewilliamssite.com/confused2001.gif

My favourite Robbie albums up to now were LTAL & SingWYW, TTC surpasses those for me http://www.therobbiewilliamssite.com/thumbsup.gif

Okay, so I'm doing it again, since now I heard the whole thing!

1. Be A Boy - 7/10 - I wasn't impressed with it at first, but it is really good album opener and lyrics "They said it was leaving me - The magic was leaving me - I don’t think so" are one of the main reasons for that.

2. Gospel - 8/10 - Firstly I liked it a lot more than Different and thought it must be 2nd single, but now I'm convinced that he made a good choice with Different. Very good verses. I like "... go f**k yourself" part, it fits nice. :kink:

3. Candy - 5/10 - I don't know what to think about this one. It was a good choice for 1st single, that's for sure, because I'm sure he picked up some new young (well, very young) fans with it. But, it is childish and I can't deny it. It is a bit better when he sings it live, it looks like good joke and a feelgood song.

4. Different - 9/10 - I like here verses more than chorus, but still, overall it is very positive opinion. And I didn't expected I'd like it that much. Such a good part is at the end at 3:57. I just hope they will not cut that part on the single, because that would make me very angry. -_- Also, a girl from Serbia will be in the video :w00t: , she will play violin, with couple of more girls... I hope she told him that he needs to come in Serbia. -_- She told that shooting the video was very interesting and that she will remember Robbie as a funny guy.

5. S**t On The Radio - 3/10 - I can tolerate that music, which isn't something innovative anyway, but those lyrics are just bad.

6. All That I Want - 4/10 - Poor computer music there, not great lyrics imo, but I can't get it out of my head.

7. Hunting For You - 8.5/10 - Again, better verses than chorus, but overall very good work. It starts very good and I like how Robbie described how he imagines to sing the chorus. Now I have that feeling listening to it. Great lyrics and melody in this part: "Everything I like’s illegal, seductive - Addictive in my world, corrosive, destructive - But I’ve got kind words in my heart."

8. Into The Silence - 10/10 - Is there something I didn't tell about this song by now? I think there's no chance it will be a single, but then, on the other side, why not? If Morning Sun could be, why not this song? I'm also afraid he won't sing it live, because it have some hard parts... Also, he said it that interview that it is not going to be a single and that he will probably won't sing it live. I'm really hoping he is reading some opinions on the official site, since this song is the most favorite, I'd say... It is very powerful at 3:31.

9. Hey Wow Yeah Yeah - 2/10 - This disgrace didn't even deserve to be mentioned here. It can only be decent for a car commercial. Music is even tolerable, but those words (yeah words, not lyrics) are a shame for whoever wrote them.

10. Not Like The Others - 5.5/10 - It's ok, I guess... I have no special opinion for this song.

11. Losers (feat. Lissie) - 5/10 - Only because it's a cover. I can't help myself while listening to it and enjoying those lyrics and then thinking they're not his. :(

12. Reverse - 6/10 - Should be on regular edition instead S**t or that other s**t called Hey, but then deluxe edition might get one of those s**ts and that wouldn't be fair. Like this, it's a nice review for buying a deluxe edition.

13. Eight Letters - 6/10 - He wrote this song right? If it's like this, I give him credits for beautiful lyrics, but I'm a bit used on Gary's version and this one needs to get into my ears. Also, the thing that in Rob's version we only have piano isn't helping, I need better music here, like on TT album.

So, based on my scores somebody could probably think I'm not liking the album. But, I really do, and I'm so happy with it. It's so much better than Reality Killed The Video Star and of course Rudebox. Only similarity with Escapology I hear in those two bad songs and that similarity he didn't brought well (like for example U2 similarity in Into The Silence). I wanted another Escapology, yes... But, I got something good anyway.

I give it 8/10 overall and if you ask me, Robbie can take the crown back. ^_^

Also, I got an e-mail today that my deluxe edition has been shipped and I'll probably get it this week! :w00t: I ordered Escapology with it also, couldn't help myself with being nostalgic.

P.S. I shouldn't post this review on official site, should I? I wasn't really nice.

Does TTC become available for I-tunes download in the UK at midnight tonight?

My CD has been dispatched by Amazon but it's being delivered from their Peruvian depot. Via llama.

I'm not expecting it before about Friday.

I finally have sometime to write my thoughts about this album now I've listened to the real album (of my very own coppy of TTC :dancing:) quality rather than the poor quality youtube clips.

Be A Boy - The chorus (and the bridge) is ace. Verses are not bad as well. Lyrically it is what you would expect Robbie to write about: himself  . The music is nice and the backing vocals scream U2. 9/10

Gospel - The verses are stronger than the chorus (which is also bizzare lyrically). That's it, I like the verses but not the chorus. 7/10

Candy - I've already said to much about this one. Hugely successful choice to target people outside his fanbase but the rest of us will somehow hate it. I enjoy his humour and irony but 'less is more' sometimes and there is too much of it in this song. If you combine it with the plaground singing and tune it is infectious yet slightly embarassing. Served its purpose as lead single but 4/10

Different - A classic Robbie song with a U2 feel and a pop addition at the second half of the chorus. It is a very strong song (especially for the radio). My only complaint is that at parts he 'filled the blanks' with some not so cool lyrics. (for example 'please god make it so'). I would prefer this one a bit more crude than sentimental. Music is a highlight here as well. 9/10

S**t On The Radio - Fun at first, but too repetitive around the chorus in an annoying (and embarassing way). The humour here at good proportions but honestly the best part is "I know you know when we'll get together, love you like a hurricane". That's because we all love the Escapology Robbie and not the Mika-like uh-uh pop bridges! I dislike the pop side of this song for sure. If it was a bit more LMEY I wouldn't mind all the s**t. 5/10

All That I Want - Musically the weakest of the album imo. This song does not stand out in any way. Ok lyrics but bland. Would have prefered something edgier since it is Robbie we are talking about.

4/10

Hunting For You - I like the start of the song and the chorus but the uh-uh is really too loud and disturbing. MAKE IT CRUDE IDIOT this is too pop for no reason! Has some very good lyrics here and there. I think I like this song, 8/10

Into The Silence - I love almost everything about this one: Lyrics, music, singing. And the chorus is really alternative, would stand out of the commercial stuff around nowadays (s**t on the radio :P) . I have not given up hope he will finally release this as a single, he enjoys drama! Could say a lot about this song but less is more (once again): 10/10

Hey Wow Yeah Yeah - Tried to do a 2013 LMEY perhaps? Missed anyway... Unbearable lyrics (not common for a Robbie song). It should sound entertaining in a big live show but it is not suitable for any other occasion imo. Only plus, though slighly irrelevant to the song, it I like Robbies low synth-voice (also see Happy Now verses). 4/10 (which could as well be a 2/10 if we count out live shows)

Not Like The Others - I like the rythm and I partly like the lyrics but there is something about it that irritates me. Just good 6/10

Losers (feat. Lissie) - Interesting lyrically (and of course fitting Robbie) but I feel this one is either underproduced or not sung good enough at parts. Other than that it is a very good song. Builds up after the first half. 9/10

Reverse - I love how the chorus builds and the finale (of the chorus) is grand. It also has a very strong oppening and closing. All around good song. 8.5/10

Eight Letters - It sounds more sentimental and sincere when sung by Robbie that's for sure. I realised it actually is a very warm ballad after all :o ! But what the f**k happened to the producer? At parts Robbie is off tune or does not hit the nigh notes fully... why didn't they re-record these parts? And where is the music? I can almost hear Robbie squeaking at parts ... This could have been a masterpiece ballad but because of all these flaws (definitely unnecessary) it is not 8/10

All things considered it is not much like Escapology (like Robbie claimed) but it bears some resemblence at parts. It sounds like the producers didn't do a clean job everywhere... I also sense some lack of direction throughout this album (or some confusion at least). There has been a considerable attempt to make music like that of his golden era but he somehow wouldn't let go of some glossy (and totally unnecessary) pop details. Other than that it is a strong album and a good sign that he has (at least partially) realised what kind of songs fans want him to write. I would love to see some worthy collaborations in his future work like Dogs and Birds or Long Walk Home but I understand they wouldn't fit the concept of this album (in terms of coherence). It is not as good as the 'sunswept-rodeo' Escapology but I would give an 8+ for this album totally. Weiter so! ;)

Robbie Williams set for UK top 40 chart double with single and album

Robbie Williams is on course to score a UK chart double this weekend.

The singer's latest single 'Candy' remains at number one on the midweek chart, while his ninth studio album Take The Crown looks set to land on top.

Labrinth and Emeli Sande remain at number two with 'Beneath Your Beautiful', while The Wanted land at number three with 'I Found You'.

Adele is at four with 'Skyfall', Swedish House Mafia are at five with 'Don't You Worry Child' and Misha B is at six with her second single 'Do You Think Of Me'.

Christina Aguilera is currently at 14 with new single 'Your Body', while Beyonce's 'Listen' moves up to 27 following Jahmene Douglas's rendition of the track on The X Factor.

While Robbie Williams is on course to hit number one with Take The Crown on the albums tally, Andre Rieu & Johann Strauss Orchestra trail at two with Magic Of The Movies.

JLS are at three with their fourth collection Evolution, Calvin Harris slips to four with 18 Months and the Military Wives start at five with Stronger Together.

Former Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles is at seven with The Difficult Second Album, Aerosmith are at eight with Music From Another Dimension and Ne-Yo is at 14 with R.E.D.

Mother Jupiter has been quite poorly this week so I've not really had much chance to listen to TTC. My intention is to give it a few plays this weekend. Then I'll post my full review. :D

I hope Mother Jups gets better soon Jups.

I've done a quickish review, I'm not great at disecting each track bit by bit like some, but here goes, this is what I think so far.

My opinions will no doubt change over time the more I listen to it.

Oh, and I've decided not to rate it out of 10, thats far too much effort :P Will do that at a later date.

Be A Boy - I absolutely love this song, and for me it’s one of my favourites on the album.

It would be a great concert opener, it’s up there with Ghosts. I hope he starts the O2 shows with this.

Gospel – brill, everyone has pretty much covered everything I would say about this song (and I’m getting lazy)

Candy – I think I would like this better if it wasn’t Robbie singing it, if that makes sense! It’s catchy and I find myself singing along to it. I really don’t think men should wear pink suits either!

Different – Good choice for the next single release. It reminds me of one of his older b sides, can’t figure out which one yet though.

Shit On The Radio – I think he should dedicate this song to radio one! -_-

All that I Want – Okish, likeable, techno sounding.

Hunting for you - I like this.

Into the silence – I don’t think there will be many Robbie fans that won’t love this song, truly brilliant. Is he really not going to ever sing this live?

Hey Wow Yeah Yeah – time to skip track! Sorry Robbie but………..WTF! :puke2:

Not Like The Others – Naughty Robbie, naughty lyrics, makes me giggle when I hear this song. :kink:

Losers – I remember hearing parts of this song, clips of it here and there before I actually heard the whole thing. I do like the song, but don’t think it’s as good as I first thought.

Reverse – I adore this song. This would be in my top 3 fav songs of the album.

It’s on the deluxe album version, people that have bought the standard version will miss out big time.

Eight Letters – So glad this is on the album. When I listen to it, it always makes me want to cry.

Finally, my review of TTC :smoke:

Be a Boy - I really like this. A great opening track. Would be good live I think. I particularly like the very beginning and the very end. Oh-wo-oohhhhh. 9/10

Gospel - Yip, like this one too. Great bouncy chorus. And I like the lyrics. Especially those right at the end. :P 9/10

Candy - Ok, it's an earworm of a song with terrible lyrics. But how blooming catchy is it? I suspect I'll be bouncing about to it at Xmas parties. Despite myself. 7/10

Different - It is growing on me. Very lush strings and nice arrangement. I just think it's not quite as good as it could have been though. 8/10

Sh*t on the Radio - Hmmmm. I does sound a bit better when you're driving in the car. Not as bad as I first feared but not a Jupsy favourite. 5/10

All that I Want - I really like how his voice sounds on this one. It's ok but a bit 1980s AOR. And some cringey lyrics. 6/10

Hunting for You - another quite good driving song but it doesn't really connect with me. More AOR. 7/10

Into the Silence - Brilliant song. My fav on the album. Very U2ish. 10/10

Hey Wow Yeah Yeah - I'll start and end with the positives. It's very short. :w00t: 4/10

Not Like the Others - Really love this one. Chorus is ace. And exceedingly bouncy 9/10

Losers - Yip, it's ok. Good but not startling. 7/10

Reverse - I absolutely love this one. Why is it only on the deluxe version? He should have swapped Sh*t on the Radio for Reverse. If you've just bought the standard version, download this song from Itunes. 9.5/10

Eight Letters - Very, very stripped back. Sounds like it was recorded in a single take. 7.5/10

So, all in all, I love the album. Beginning is good, end is good. Just a wee bit of a dip in the middle. Overall I give it 8/10 :cheer:
