:wub: So fun to see her in old outfits & making a few funny Spice references. :lol: She doesn't often show off her more personable/amusing side to herself, so it was great to see.

 

The only thing I was a bit "hmm" about is her continuing with the "my mic was always off" narrative (a stance she originally raised in an interview a couple of years ago). It made for an easy joke that landed well, but for fans of her former music career it's just a bit of a shame to hear when we know it isn't the truth and she's deliberately putting herself down. I mean, I can see it from the perspective that music hasn't been her career for over a decade, so it most likely no longer matters to her that the public believe she didn't sing and wasn't talented in music, so she's decided to embrace the misconception and have power over it by creating that narrative.

Totally get where you're coming from. I also very much admire her talent as a performer.

 

I think it's funny because it's not true. It's a common misconception that she was the cardboard cut out of the band. But you only have to watch a live show to know that's not the case.

 

She often plays up to false media claims, perhaps because it pokes fun at lazy journalism.

 

Either way, she's a legend. She's got nothing to prove.

Just heard on Radio 2 that Victoria is guest on a special edition of Claudia Winkleman's show this coming Sunday at 7pm. Sounds like a good interview from the preview they aired!

What a sweet video! I love seeing old pictures of her from when her and David first started dating. It's crazy to think that Brooklyn is 20 years old in February! I remember when they announced he'd been born on Radio 1, that's how old I am!
