September 5, 201213 yr The Vaccines at #1 on the album chart - get in! Should be Two Door in second and then Ronan in third (though I'm sure he'll fall during the week).
September 5, 201213 yr The Vaccines at #1 on the album chart - get in! Should be Two Door in second and then Ronan in third (though I'm sure he'll fall during the week). If you think he'll fall during the week, then I doubt he will be #3 - he was #4 on Tuesday's mids.
September 5, 201213 yr Teenage Icon at #35 :D with it being in the 50s combined on iTunes it might stay in on Sunday but I fear it's going to be "If You Wanna" all over again. They're going to have to learn that if they want a big hit they're going to have to put one of an album's big couple of singles out first instead of something underwhelming like "No Hope" / "Post Break-Up Sex".
September 5, 201213 yr So Vaccines are 18k clear of Rita Ora up to now - I'd guess they were on about 25k and TDCC about 19k. At a guess on Sunday it could be: 01 Vaccines 45k 02 Two Door Cinema Club 35k 03 Rita Ora 20k
September 5, 201213 yr Hope that Of Monsters and Men can eventually reach the Top 10. Fun should do it for Sunday’s chart, but unfortunately it’s looking unlikely Cheryl will reach Top 10 at all. Great to see Plan B and The Vaccines in the Top 40. I’m getting better at this album predicting! I had #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 9 correct this week! :D Adele’s 21 just outside the Top 20 – I’m sure it will climb back in. Not good to see an 11 place fall for Amy Macdonald, but at least it’s done quite well before. Why’s Paul Simon back in the Top 40? My album prediction for Sunday: 01 The Vaccines 02 Two Door Cinema Club 03 Rita Ora 04 Emeli Sande 05 Plan B 07 Ronan Keating 08 Of Monsters and Men 09 Paloma Faith 10 Mark Knopfler 11 Scouting for Girls So Vaccines are 18k clear of Rita Ora up to now - I'd guess they were on about 25k and TDCC about 19k. At a guess on Sunday it could be: 01 Vaccines 45k 02 Two Door Cinema Club 35k 03 Rita Ora 20k I'd be happy with those sales :D Edited September 5, 201213 yr by liamk97

At a guess on Sunday it could be: 01 Vaccines 45k 02 Two Door Cinema Club 35k 03 Rita Ora 20k Nice top 2 album sales, that's what I thought with TDCC 18k ahead (instead of the 12k given) + the 6k ahead from the Vaccines, its the wording from the MW article that got me. I wish we had the actual sales though.

September 5, 201213 yr Really hope 'Teenage Icon' can hold onto the top 40 although like Charlie suggested it's probably more likely to do an 'If You Wanna' (maybe it'll be on an ad next year and sneak into the top 40 to continue the likeness :P Bit of a longshot but I could at least see it ending up outselling 'No Hope'). 'Deepest Shame' should definitely get Plan B another top 40 hit now and might even stay top 30 as it's holding up well on iTunes. Great to see the 'ill Manors' album also holding at #7, it's had a much better chart run than I expected it'd have. Should pass 100k at the very least which, while not great, IIRC Plan B said he would be happy with for this album :P Sales gaps at the top of that album chart combined with the low sales environment means that should be a Vaccines/Two Door top 2 in the bag! I think I'd slightly prefer it the other way around but it's an absolutely fantastic top 2 either way. Going to download both of these albums this week (although I haven't done so yet). Ugh at Scouting For Girls being as high as #8, guess it was too much to wish for for this album to bomb as hard as its single. Might miss the top 10 by the end of the week, fingers crossed. Surprised 'Centipede Hz' is as low as #33, with the low sales I'd have expected it to at least outpeak 'Merriweather Post Pavilion' (#26) but it looks likely to miss the top 40. Guess there's just not as much interest in them any more (same with Passion Pit earlier this year). Twin Atlantic back in the top 40 again after dropping out over the week last week! :o
September 5, 201213 yr Even I can't be bothered with buying the new Animal Collective album. I did, however, buy both of the top 2 so good to see them start with impressive sales.
September 5, 201213 yr I wish everyone would have seen sense and not bought a Scouting For Girls album in 2008 as well. :(
September 6, 201213 yr Well done Neyo for having the blandest Number One for a very long time. :puke2:
September 7, 201213 yr Author Midweek Charts update: Ne-Yo moves ahead in bid for No 1 Source: MW by Paul Willams Ne-Yo has extended his lead in the race to top the UK singles chart this Sunday, but The Script with will.i.am are still close enough to catch him. Having been placed in third spot behind Pink and The Script on the first Sales Flashes announced on Tuesday, Ne-Yo's Def Jam/Mercury single Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love) now has an 11.3% sales lead over the rest of the market, according to the Official Charts Company. This compares to a lead of 4.9% two days ago. The Script featuring will.i.am's newly-issued Epic/Phonogenic single Hall Of Fame is placed second, while Pink's brand new RCA track Blow Me (One Last Kiss) is third having been leading the market at the beginning of the week. Little Mix's Syco single Wings, which debuted at No 1 last Sunday, is down to fourth place and One More Tunes/Stiff's Boom Bom by Sam and the Womp drops 2-5. On artist albums The Vaccines appear on course to debut at No 1 with their second Columbia set Come Of Age with Two Door Cinema Club's sophomore Kitsune release Beacon set to arrive in second place. Rita Ora's Columbia/Roc Nation album Ora is third having entered at No 1 last Sunday, while Emeli Sande's Virgin-issued Our Version Of Events has dropped 2-4 at this stage of the week. The Vaccines and Two Door Cinema Club are joined by three other brand new albums among the Top 10 sellers in the week so far with Polydor act Ronan Keating's Fires fifth, Mark Knopfler's Mercury album Privateering seventh and Scouting For Girls' third Epic album The Light Between Us ninth. North, Atlantic-signed Matchbox Twenty's first album in nearly a decade, is showing up as a new entry at 11. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Friday Update Top 40 Only Singles 1 Ne-Yo 2 Script/will.i.am 3 P!nk 4 Little Mix 5 Sam & The Womp Top 10 10 fun. September 7, 201213 yr Not very good for Mark Knopfler, I was sure he'll be top 5 because of the low sales.
September 7, 201213 yr The sales drop off of Little Mix will be an interesting one to see. I will be annoyed if I Cry stops Some Nights from getting into the top 10 and if the Vaccines fall from no 39!!
September 7, 201213 yr So apparently Universal UK underestimated Of monsters and men sales and are sold out after first week, hope they don't fall too much
September 7, 201213 yr It is quiet a shame Of Monsters and Men arent nearing a top 10 position with such a magnificant song. On the bright side i am truly delighted Matchbox are still holding firm at number 11 in the album chart, i truly expected this to drop with each update, while top 10 would be a lovely outcome i am delighted with top 20 as they have never managed that before.
September 7, 201213 yr Brilliant to see 'Some Nights' in the top 10 today, it could get knocked out by 'I Cry' but then they could both be top 10 easily. Yay for 'Avalon' being top 40 today and 'Teenage Icon' just holding on although I'm still pretty certain that'll drop out by Sunday. Scouting For Girls a place lower than Wednesday on the albums but fingers crossed they'll drop at least another two so they miss the top 10. Great to see 'xx' looking like returning to the top 40 in anticipation of 'Coexist' :D
September 7, 201213 yr I see Adele's 21 has climbed from #22 to #17 in two days! Possibly a climber this Sunday?
