So at the end of day 2 it's Amelia Lily in the lead but there's still 5 more days to go and it's all to play for.....

I think Amelia will be officially number 1 on sunday. P!nk's last week's situation was completely different.

She got to the top spot quickly. So, Ne-Yo & Script started to gain on her. At this point, P!nk was already number 3 on iTunes.

Amelia's lead at this point is still 0.15 and there's no real evidence that she will start trailing off as Lee is always suggesting in this thread.

Yeah, it was Galaxy I was talking about. I live in Birmingham, so I used to get Galaxy on 102.2, but now it's Capital (so I just call them the same thing) and Happy they used to play the Jason Nevins remix and the original, probably about 50:50 from my recollection (and during day time and weekdays, not just at the weekends). I just use Capital to refer to Galaxy pre-merge, so people on here recognize what I'm talking about.

By the way, if anybody is interested, here's the Ofcom investigation they launched into Capital (formerly Galaxy) in Birmingham. The entire thing is 22 pages, but it's basically Global Radio wanting to change Capital from a rhythmic station to a pop station: http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/binaries/.../Birmingham.pdf This is why they won't play a song like Happy today, but they did play it loads in 2009.

I remember when the station use to be called Galaxy  I use to hear about Galaxy all the time in the late 1990's but I never listened to it then.

I also remember the early days of Heart FM. It used to be a local radio station, only for Birmingham (and was called Heart, because Birmingham is the "heart of England", as it's in the centre of the country). And eventually they started having Heart stations in other parts of the country too.

Just to say, I am SO glad Tulisa is looking likely to miss the top 10 this week. Utterly horrible excuse of a song from a horrible person.

Why do you think she's a horrible person? what has she done to you

She's blocked me on Twitter!

In all seriousness though, every time I have seen her she comes across as horrible, unlikeable and without an ounce of class.

Maybe it's because she's from Camden Town. I use to work in that area and there is a lot of unpleasent people there.

Amy Winehouse lived in Camden aswell (well, I assume based on Nas's raps when they collab ).

I personally don't really care about the personalities of artists, just the music. I wouldn't be able to listen to a lot of songs that I like if I were to decide to not listen to artists that are horrible people.

While were on the subject of Capital FM they need to get someone else apart from Jessie J to say "hit music" lol

"1,327,234 people like this"

Or the dislike bars on her music videos:

Stupid Hoe:

Beez in the Trap:

I Am Your Leader:

She's overtaken Justin Bieber as the most hated.

Not to mention, she's very attention-seeking and desperate. Like her Mitt Romney comment recently.

She might be most hated but over the last year she has become one of the biggest music stars in the world so she must be doing something right.

Yeah, I guess similar to Justin Bieber again. He's probably the 2nd most-hated artist in the world at the moment, but also currently a phenomenon, and has a huge fanbase.

And there's this one:

I think these adverts feature just about all the artists they play these days. :drama:

Sounds like she says "shit" music tbqh...

LOL at the comment about Capital.

The thing is, radio and now TV stations are being VERY restrictive lately. If you're an unknown artist...you're not gonna get played! Unless you've an online campaign. I noticed whilst away at my Mums...Starz and Channel AKA have gone from showcasing new and unknown singers to top 40 only! It seems the record companies have the final say nowadays.

However....LOL @ Tulisa - it would have been an embarassement if she got to #1. Amelia Lily is a shocker, the song isn't that great but it is deserved.

This is shocking. However if Amelia goes to No.1 at the Midweek charts and Tulisa misses out on top 10, it will be close to the final result. Our predictions turned upside down.

Well, not mine - remember my poll... :P

I'm rather the opposite - my perception of the personalities of artists have a strong (but not *necessarily* overriding) influence on the music I buy. My distaste for the whole gangsta rap image goes a long way towards explaining my feelings about the whole hip-hop genre...

Ah, 'Deepest Shame' made 59p after all! 'Little Talks' is a little bit late to the 59p party, it could have gone top 10 if they did this a couple of weeks earlier :(

Nice to see Little Talks getting a price reduction, won't make much difference though

I seriously want to kick my TV over every time one of these ads come on

You did a poll?! :o

LOL at the comment about Capital.

Totally agree, even radio 1s playlist has been reduced in the amount of songs they play (thank god for the upfront list) and channel Q is off mtv now therefore reducing again the amount of indie music videos we see - its just basically rihanna, jessie j etc in a loop on radio and tv now - not good for music...i wont say anything about how poor capital are - they are the mtv hits of radio!!
