So what better way to celebrate than to find out Buzzjack's favourite number ones of all time? But this Ultimate rate comes with a twist. Unlike previous ultimate rates the voting will not be done by year, as this will take forever. Instead there will be 12 groups of 100 songs chosen at random by random.org of which the top 16 will go through to the next round (making 192 songs) and the rest of the top 20 will enter the semi-finals in which the top 8 will go through. This way we have a final 200. I will open one group at a time and voting will be the same as last time. Then once we get to the top 200 we will cut it down to 100 or 50 if need be, before the grand final. September 9, 201212 yr There are still some surprises with major pop/rock classics failing to get through in favour of more recent dancepop, which is fine when the tracks deserve to get through, but the lesser recent tracks seem to slip through as not enough older people are voting to balance it out a bit more. It looks like tracks from the 90's & 80's also have an easier time of it than tracks from the 60's and 70's, except for Abba (who are the ultimate popband).
