I'm not saying that Little Mix are solely responsible for the success of Stooshe. I just believe that they've truly put girl groups back on the map and back in the limelight. It's just that we've seen too many girl groups come and go, since Girls Aloud (and early Sugas 3.0) and only the Sats that have really stayed and that's purely down to lack of competition. Little Mix (obviously thanks down the the XF exposure) have put girl groups back in the eye of the public and made them ok to like again, in a similar way to what JLS did for boy bands. Before them, there was only really a reunited Take That, that were having massive success (and to a lesser extent I guess Westlife).

I wasn't aware that liking The Saturdays/ Other Flop Girl Groups wasn't okay!

Anyway, back to discussing how fantastic this song is, I'm truly anticipating the live performance on the xFactor which should be AMAZING.

My thoughts on first listen:

01. The "D-D-D-DNA" bit sounds like a radio edit where the original says "motherfucking DNA"

02. It's a bit too blatant a rip-off of "E.T.". "Wings" sounded more instantly fresh.

It's not bad by any means, I've appreciated the way they've avoided being predictable so far. I was expecting a "Call The Shots"-esque track.

I did think straight away 'E.T', but for me this is better then Wings, (I've decided I don't like Wings.) This is much better I think. Probably what they'll perform on X Factor too. It should have a MUCH better video too I'd say.

 @ the 'Wings' haters!!!

I'm impressed with this on first listen although I'm unsure who is singing the second verse (is it Jade?) but listening carefully, the vocals are slightly shaky which I tend to find offputting. Have to give credit for the breakdown and the additional choir-esque section. I also think the chorus is catchy as, and I agree with Davidson that 'Wings' and 'DNA' ranks nicely alongside 'Sound Of The Underground' and 'No Good Advice'. I agree it does sound like 'E.T. Pt II' but Katy Perry's vocals on 'E.T.' didn't half grate on me!!!

As for the whole The Saturdays debate, they showed real promise with their debut album. 'If This Is Love' and especially 'Up' were two great pop singles. However, it all fell to pieces when they released 'Forever Is Over' to kick off album 2, and then 'Notorious' for album 3. No wonder they're not getting the success they deserve when it's the third single from the album these days that is usually their best, by which time the interest has more than dwindled.

As far as I know:

1st verse: Perrie

pre-chorus: Jade

2nd verse: Jesy

pre-chorus: Jade

middle 8: Leigh-Anne

To say I am in love with this song would be an under-statement. The choir part after Leigh's middle 8 is spine tingling, can definitely see the comparrisons to E.T.

Can't wait for the video, any idea of when we'll be seeing it? :)

Most likely in the next 2 weeks since the music video usually premieres 4 weeks before the song release.

This is EXTREMELY good. So much better than 'Wings'.
Off topic but your sig is BEAUTIFUL.

This is seriously ON REPEAT ATM. I'm so pleased with it! Their album couldn't come any sooner for me really. I really hope they push with this as the lead single in America. I can see it being huge over there.

GAH. HURRY UP VIDEO!

I think this album is going to do well, wings has held up good in the charts and i do think it will outsell their x factor winning single cannonball, this bodes well for them, i would like lasting success for them.

Thanks! I have a major obsession with Tigers atm!

I'm really looking forward to the album now too! 'Wings' was missing something for me, but I've already played this a lot more!

The middle 8 is giving me Earthquake vibes. Love it though!
I really like this song. So excited to hear the album now and I ESPECIALLY can't wait to hear the song they've done with T-Boz from TLC...I was a massive fan!
This is such a promising single. I thought they'd got it on point with "Wings" but then this comes out and blows it out of the water. They keep getting better and more exciting for me, really looking forward to the album - especially the T-Boz track!
How AMAZING is this song? Like srsly. So instant, fresh, catchy - that production. All of it. YES. They've stepped it up a gear from 'Wings' (which I also really liked), which is making me very excited for their album and tour.
"Going Nowhere" was co-written and co-produced by Nicola Roberts and Diplo (with writing credits for the girls as well)! Definitely the song that I'm most looking forward too - hopefully it doesn't sound exactly the same as "Beat of My Drum" (as much as I love it).

To be honest, E.T. is the first thing I think of when I hear the phrase "electro-ballad", so I'm not too surprised at how it sounds. I wasn't really expecting something like Call the Shots, given who it's produced by.

It's an incredible song.
