It's funny to see how different opinions are about this album.

 

I'm not suprised at first week sales. I think CYL will do well. They should be able to sell 300k by album 2.

 

I knew we'd get a "adult contemporary" type of album. That's basically where they ended on X Factor. But I am hoping they realize that LA's rapping and Jesys beatbox would add a lot. Personally, I thought that is what made them stand out initially. IMHO.

What's with the 'Pretend It's OK' love? It's good but i'd rank it about 8th I think... :lol:

Pretend It's OK is gorgeous IMO, it's easily my favourite album track, had it on repeat. I love that powerful HOW DOES IT FEEL - as opposed to a lot of the songs with loads of harmonies, this just feels really strong and they all sound really together. And those strings *.* [/typicalbuzzjacker]

The only thing I don't like about "Pretend It's OK" is its slowly-fade-away ending, they should have ended it with their powerful acapella harmonies like they did in "Wings" and "Make You Believe".

Not as big a drop as I was expecting, personally. Obviously not a good drop, but I was expecting worse. It'll have decent sales for a #12 album anyway, so it's all good :D

I hope it can just find a steady sales point and stay there.

And yes, they were. But the final always has more than two artists performing, lol.

As the current champions of the show and are proving to be quite successful hopefully they will get to perform their own song in the final (and not just there to perform with a finalist). It's quite sad to see the album out of the top 10 after just one week, I absolutely adore it, it's grown on me so much! Hopefully it levels out and becomes a consistent seller.

I'm still confident this will be selling about 25k this week. A normal drop for an album after the first week sales, which is about the same percentage drop they'd do whether it was quarter 1, 2 or 3! It'll stabilise after this week I reckon.

Is "wings" getting a US release anytime soon? It was played extensively near the closing of last night's Victoria's Secret annual model show.

According to Popjustice forum members it is the next single and the release date is the 11th November...

I'm sort of conflicted, I don't feel like their fanbase is big and loyal enough in the UK to leave for ages which the US will request, but then they could be like Cher Lloyd and do even better over there than here. I can see Wings doing well over there though, I really hope it does.

TBH, I don't think Cher Lloyd is that big here. "Want you back" which was her biggest hit didn't even hit the top 10, and wasn't an airplay hit. Having said that, I think LM will be marketed as the female 1D (in terms of appeal), and "Wings" is actually very radio friendly. I love the song, and sounds as 'sophisticated' (I put it in quotes) as 1D's "what makes you beautiful".
