Anything less than 100k would be disastrous for The Killers. Kasabian almost made that this time last year with a single that sold far less than "Runaways", and they don't have a history of 200k+ openings. P!nk will be lucky to have half their sales this week.

It only just dawned on me that Stingin' Belle is out and bombing - really disappointing, it's not exactly a comercial song but after a really good hit rate from their last era even after the album release I would have expected at *least* top 100...

Why do all the SHM fakes have to omit the apostrophe in the title

Four comments;

1) Come on Example! Get to #1!

2) Thrilled to see Dappy stalling just outside the top 10. Could be looking at another #11 debut (following Tulisa's last week).

3) Jessica Wright seems to have fallen too - hopefully it'll make a swift exit now.

4) How/why is Pitbull and Shakira's 'Get It Started' still only at #58. I've seen the video plenty on music channels and Pitbull has a rather broad fanbase. Surely this won't break his eight consecutive top 40 streak (from 'You Know You Want Me', #4 in 2009 to 'Back in Time', #21 in May). Hopefully it'll be a climber next week, I had a feeling it could be a surprise top 10 hit.

Pitbull, like Flo Rida, has no fanbase at all. He's all about his songs. Just look at his peaks from his last era - 38-1-28-10 is not a normal run. 'Planet Pit' itself didn't do too appallingly but then neither did 'Wild Ones' for Flo Rida, they both did disproportionately badly compared to their singles chart success.

It is quite funny to see all three members of N-Dubz flop within weeks of each other

Fazer 'Killer' #17

Tulisa feat Tyga 'Live It Up' #11

Dappy 'Good Intentions' #1? (no, that doesn't mean #1 with a question mark)

 05. Taylor Swift

 06. Gerry & the Pacemakers

 25. Tulisa 'Live It Up' :kink:

 28. Kanye West, Jay-Z + Big Sean 'Clique'

 30. Jessica Wright 'Dance All Night'

 43. Damien Rice 'Coconut Skins'

 45. Emeli Sande 'Clown'

 59. Muse 'Madness'

Gangnam Style  #17

I think this could get to #1 in a quiet week. It's massive. :yahoo:

It's not actually that funny when much more established artists like The Killers, Mumford and Sons and Biffy Clyro are performing just as bad. Yes they may be more album sellers, but the singles are underperforming too. I wouldn't call them flops just not setting the charts alight.

Although I agree, it's amusing - each are doing as good/even better than as a collective. There discography runs: 26-57-91-22-19-24-64-64-05-14-20-06-10-18-52.

So 7 top 20 hits, 10 top 40 hits. Already Tulisa has 2 top 20 hits (including a #1), Dappy has 2 top 5 hits and Fazer has a top 20; 5 top 20 hits between them is only one away from their 7 as a group (when you include Dappy's 'Good Intentions').

Could Taylor possibly get a new peak this week?! I'm still loving the song (despite finally seeing it for more of a bit of cheese/tongue-in-cheek, but that makes it even better somehow), so it definitely deserves the unexpected success it's been having!

05. Taylor Swift - We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together

16. Mumford & Sons - I Will Wait

17. Psy - Gangnam Style

23. Conor Maynard & Ne-Yo - Turn Around

25. Tulisa - Live It Up

30. Jessica Wright - Dance All Night (As expected it's dropping quite fast, can see this missing the top 40)

57. Pitbull & Shakira - Get It Started

76. Little Mix - Wings (Alias Remix)

I was hoping she would get a new peak but P!nk's version at #04 is 5% ahead and she has another version at 4% at #68. I think the best that Taylor can hope for this week is re-peaking! The only way she would get a new peak this week was if the song was in the 59p bundle tonight, which I doubt it will be!

I know it should really be top 100 but it's been released as one of those songs you can get when you pre-order the album ie Angels, Lost My Way and Paradise

 07. David Guetta ft Sia

 09. Gerry and the Pacemakers

With Gerry falling, if Dappy can get past Flo Rida then he could well go top 10.... however I would expect him to start dropping off soon as well

Gerry & the Pacemakers falling awfully fast now - with only two 'big' days of sales, it could well end up missing the top 10 - possibly remaining a non-mover at #12.

Amazing longevity, good chance of re-peaking this week it seems!

The Killers and Biffy are underperforming, yes, but I'm not sure how you make out that 'I Will Wait' is? It's their highest peaking single by some distance and showing strong signs of hanging around for just as long as their two previous big(ish) hits. Their debut album sold well over a million and 'Babel' is going to be massive as well, the singles success is just a footnote to them. (Unlike The Killers and Biffy who have both had major hits in the past - although having said that I'm not sure if any of Biffy's singles have actually outsold either 'Little Lion Man' or 'The Cave', maybe 'Many Of Horror' has).

I know it should really be top 100 but it's been released as one of those songs you can get when you pre-order the album ie Angels, Lost My Way and Paradise

Okay, that makes the floppage less annoying since it's not going to chart anyway. Such an annoying trend and it's getting more and more common :arrr:

-x-

Gerry And The Pacemakers probably looking like only just scraping into the top 10 if they get there at all, unless something boosts them again later in the week. If only the campaign had started 2 days later they'd easily be top 5.

PSY should be top 10 by the end of the week or failing that early next week I think - will help if Radio 1 playlist it and given the amount of minor support they're already giving it I think they're likely to.
