Posted September 17, 201212 yr The usual fare from the big pop artists releasing at xmas cos they dont bother releasing outside of the xfactor season!! Who'll sell most though? Edited September 17, 201212 yr by steve201
September 17, 201212 yr I'm not 100% sure whats being released but I think Mumford and Sons will sell a lot. Could they hit 1m before the end of 2012?
September 17, 201212 yr Mumford & Sons is going to be huge. I wouldn't be surprised if Leona does really well. I'm hoping P!nk will be able to carry over well into the holiday season too! Rihanna and Lady Gaga are releasing as well right? I can see them doing big things too. So many new releases! I'll go with: 1. Mumford & Sons 2. Lady Gaga 3. Rihanna 4. P!nk/Leona Emeli Sandé and Rebecca Ferguson's re-releases could do very well too. Robbie Williams is releasing as well right? He could do big things with the right promotion/material. September 18, 201212 yr Author Sorry i tried to do a poll with a list of the big album - it took me 10 minutes doing it up at the end of work yesterday but it wouldnt add after all that then i had to head home lol disaster. Can anyone else add a poll for me - my list basically contained - The Killers - Battle Born 17/09/12 The Script - #3 10/0912 Pink - The Truth about Love 17/9/12 Mumford and Sons - Babel 24/9/12 Greenday - !Uno! 24/9/12 Dos 12/11/12 No Doubt - Push and Shove 24/9/12 (What happened to this and Greenday - no lead single promo??) Muse - The Second Law 1/10/12 Ellie Goulding - Halcyon 8/10/12 Leona Lewis - Glassheart 15/10/12 Taylor Swift - Red 22/10/12 Lady Antebellum - On this Winters Night 22/10/12 Calvin Harris - 18 Months 29/10/12 JLS - Evolution 5/11/12 OD - Take me Home 21/11/12 Olly Murs - Right Place, Right Time27/11/12 Robbie Williams - Take the Crown 5/11/12 Michael Buble - Christmas reissue 22/10/11 Susan Boyle 14/11/12 Little Mix - DNA 14/11/12 Other?? September 18, 201212 yr Of that list, I think these are the ones that will sell the most: The Script - #3 10/0912 Pink - The Truth about Love 17/9/12 Mumford and Sons - Babel 24/9/12 Muse - The Second Law 1/10/12 OD - Take me Home 21/11/12 Olly Murs - Right Place, Right Time27/11/12 Robbie Williams - Take the Crown 5/11/12 Michael Buble - Christmas reissue 22/10/11 Susan Boyle 14/11/12 Little Mix - DNA 14/11/12 And these ones will underperform/not do great things: The Killers - Battle Born 17/09/12 - I think this will be an average seller for them, definitely won't sell 1m Greenday - !Uno! 24/9/12 Dos 12/11/12 - well past their peak, I don't think they can sell albums as well as they used to No Doubt - Push and Shove 24/9/12 - hardly any promo, no big lead single Ellie Goulding - Halcyon 8/10/12 - not sure about this, could go either way Leona Lewis - Glassheart 15/10/12 - still remains to be seen how much damage Collide did Taylor Swift - Red 22/10/12 - she's never really been a huge UK albums seller has she? Lady Antebellum - On this Winters Night 22/10/12 - again, they've never been a big seller in the UK Calvin Harris - 18 Months 29/10/12 - I think Calvin's more of a singles seller than an albums seller JLS - Evolution 5/11/12 - I'm sure people are getting a bit bored of them now, although if they come back with a killer single then who knows
September 18, 201212 yr Is Gaga actually releasing an album this year? Next year. The Script - #3 10/09/12 - will continue to sell well but no moreso than their previous two The Killers - Battle Born 17/09/12 - easy #1 but not their usual million seller, no obvious smash second single Pink - The Truth about Love 17/9/12 - may end up outselling The Killers if the second single is good Mumford and Sons - Babel 24/9/12 - "I Will Wait" won't become as ubiquitous as their older singles and this will be lucky to make a million Greenday - !Uno! 24/9/12 Dos 12/11/12 - even platinum may be a struggle but comfortable #2 next week, Tré! should go to #1 in January No Doubt - Push and Shove 24/9/12 - will bomb after week 1, "Settle Down" has been handled dreadfully Muse - The Second Law 1/10/12 - gigantic opening but needs a strong next single to keep momentum. Big January sales seller Ellie Goulding - Halcyon 8/10/12 - depends entirely on "Anything Could Happen" but I think it'll smash Leona Lewis - Glassheart 15/10/12 - depends entirely on "Trouble" which may underperform Taylor Swift - Red 22/10/12 - would have probably done better with a September release seeing how well the single is doing Lady Antebellum - On this Winters Night 22/10/12 - solid opening, may do well in January Calvin Harris - 18 Months 29/10/12 - risky being so close to Christmas but "Sweet Nothing" should help it do well JLS - Evolution 5/11/12 - could get them a second #1 but beyond that it's dependent on singles OD - Take me Home 21/11/12 - annoyingly massive, their stature has only grown this year Olly Murs - Right Place, Right Time 27/11/12 - new single is a risk, will either take him to the next level or backfire massively Robbie Williams - Take the Crown 5/11/12 - "Candy" should ensure this an easy #1 and will canter to a million Michael Buble - Christmas reissue 22/10/11 - depends on the number of 'new' songs Susan Boyle 14/11/12 - I'm surprised she's lasted this long. Flop Little Mix - DNA 14/11/12 - if the single smashes this could be the biggest of the lot
September 18, 201212 yr ^The second single from 'The Truth About Love' is 'Try', absolutely fantastic. Go and listen to it on Youtube Lady Antebellum - On this Winters Night 22/10/12 Is this a Christmas album? With a right promo (X Factor etc) they can do wonders. Of those mentioned above, I'd put my money on Mumford & Sons and One Direction. Edited September 18, 201212 yr by SKOB
September 18, 201212 yr I'm not sure Robbie will be that quick to sell a million - maybe he'll entice all the Take That fans that would usually be buying a Take That album at Christmas.
September 18, 201212 yr Author If his new singles catchy enough and with xfactor promo he could do well!! In fact id love him to be the xmas no1 album!!
September 18, 201212 yr Btw don't forget Rihanna, she must have an album or two out before the end of December
September 18, 201212 yr I think the biggest sellers will be Mumford & Sons, One Direction and Muse. Emeli Sande, Michael Buble and Rebecca Ferguson will both undoubtedly benefit from their re-releases - many may just assume it's a new album and purchase it. I can see each album getting an additional 200-250k sales up until Christmas added to their totals. Olly Murs and Robbie Williams should both do well too - I imagine they'll be big sellers regardless of how their lead singles perform. Likewise with Leona, though without looking at the schedule I don't see any of them topping the chart. Eager to see how No Doubt, JLS and Susan Boyle do really. No Doubt's comeback has been handled appallingly, as people have mentioned above. There's also been no hype around JLS - the focus is very much still on One Direction; with the US success of The Wanted and the minimal success of Lawson also pushing JLS down the league table of boybands; I'd happily call them the third most popular boyband around at the moment (behind 1D and The Wanted). Susan Boyle will be a big hit with the 'older' generation (i.e. it may make for a nice gift for your nan). Besides that, I can't see it doing amazing; likely to miss out on #1.
September 18, 201212 yr Muse have no chance, they'll start off with a big week for The 2nd Law and then probably get a jump in sales slightly when the album goes in sale in the New Year Buble, Murs, Boyle, Williams, One Direction and JLS will be the huge sellers as they are presents for granny, mum and kids
September 18, 201212 yr Likewise with Leona, though without looking at the schedule I don't see any of them topping the chart. I think Leona will get to #1. I believe Dappy and Will.I.Am are her biggest competition. Q4 will be really interesting. I forgot about One Direction and Olly. Both should sell very well, with One Direction doing very well hopefully. I also forgot about Ellie Goulding, Little Mix and Muse! Wow. There are a ton of albums coming up. I can see Ellie doing really well and Little Mix too if their 2nd single does well. Not sure about Muse, but they should go platinum. I think I'll change my list (now I know Gaga isn't releasing) to: 1. Mumford & Sons 2. Rihanna/One Direction 3. P!nk/Leona 4. Ellie Goulding Edited September 18, 201212 yr by Envoirment

September 18, 201212 yr Author Will Rebeccas album still be re-issued with the legal wrangle reported today?

September 18, 201212 yr I think Leona will get to #1. I believe Dappy and Will.I.Am are her biggest competition. Only competition is Dappy now really, Which i can't see selling that much, Will.i.am as pushed his album back. @iamwill I'm trying to finish #willpower...& now because of all the leaks I have push the album back to make new songs...I will give you updates soon http://twitter.com/iamwill Aslong as Ellie & Leona get #1 album's and sell well over next few months thats all am bothered about haha I dont really see SUBO's album being a big seller tho, Didn't her album last year sell 300k-400k to date? i think the hype for her is dying.
September 18, 201212 yr No obvious big seller. Missed out Jonathon & Charlotte though. ITV1 primetime documentary and sure to perform on X Factor. I think a lot of these just depends on who performs on X Factor i.e. if Ellie Goulding did I could see her album being big. Calvin Harris could surprise people aswell. I think people forget that there are 4/5 really big singles on there...
September 19, 201212 yr Next year. Lady Antebellum - On this Winters Night 22/10/12 - solid opening, may do well in January Its a Christmas album, it will be dead by January Lady Antebellum - On this Winters Night 22/10/12 Is this a Christmas album?
