A rusty old coaster en route in the Öresund sound suddenly veers off course and heads for the Øresund Bridge. The Maritime Administration in Malmö calls the coaster, but gets no answer. The operator’s call echoes on the ship’s empty bridge. The crew is nowhere to be seen...

Meanwhile, the coaster, making good speed, rams the concrete foundations laid out to protect the bridge. The ship is empty – or so it is believed until five people are found chained, cold and exhausted below deck. Saga Norén (Sofia Helin) from Malmö CID arrives at the scene and starts working on finding the identities of the five people.

The unknown victims, of whom three are Swedish and two Danish, are brought to a hospital in Malmö. Without hesitation, Saga contacts her Danish colleague, Martin Rhode (Kim Bodnia) and their new investigation begins.

EXCITED! Though I don't think we're getting it until November time. :(

YES. I guess Bro(e)n will take Forbrydelsen III's timeslot then? Mid-November to Mid-December? It will tide me over until Borgen in January. So stoked for this though. These shows + (D)MGP are what help me get through the winter.

Borgen? Isn't it cancelled?

Anyway, f*** YESSSSS Broen is back <3 And I'm LOVING the plot. Still involving the bridge and the killings of both Danes and Swedes but using a totally different plot!

Borgen? Isn't it cancelled?

The third season has yet to air in the UK and Ireland. I can't watch it without subtitles because my Danish is crap. :( I could MAYBE watch Bro(e)n in September during its original air date but I'll only understand the Swedish bits.

I didn't think Borgen was axed, I was under the impression it was the same as with The Killing in that it was just a 3 seasons and out deal.
I don't know but I read that DR wanted to move away from the female-centric dramas and focus more on male characters. I'd love a few new dramas though.

Denmark have been having female-centric dramas for AGES though. It's so amazing how ALL the major Danish (even Scandi in general) shows have females as leads! <3
There are some good male-centric dramas in Scandinavia so I'd be happy to see a new batch of shows. Äkta Människor had the likes of Andreas Wilson (although he wasn't particularly the lead character), and Brødre and Torka aldrig tårar utan handskar were both excellent and very very male-dominated.

Generally DR tend to let the story be told and then end the show, regardless of whether it would still have viewers. It can be frustrating, but from a qualityoriented view it's excellent, as the shows then take the form and length that provide the best possible show, instead of the one that will get most viewers over the longest possible timeframe.

Neither Borgen or The Killing were axed in the classic sense, as both were hugely popular, it was just already decided that they should be replaced by other new dramas.

So has anyone tried 'Ørnen: En krimi-odyssé' before? There seem to be SO many Danish crime TV shows I've never even heard about before! Don't even care they are all basically the same, Danes make incredible crime TV series.

Had NO idea Borgen had started last weekend. I watched the first two during the week and it's still fabulous. Looking forward to the two episodes tonight. It's kinda weird because so far it covers the main topic of my final year undergrad thesis (basically the State and media bias against minorities (mainly Muslims) in Denmark). Creeeepppyyy.

Does anybody know when Broen starts? And Torka aldrig tårar utan handskar? I've already watched the latter in Swedish but it would be good to watch it with subtitles as I couldn't understand some parts of the story. </3

Bron ending tomorrow omg! I need to catch up (only on ep 3 ooooops).

An YO Cal, just watch the thing with Swedish subs. Bound to understand most of it with Danish/Swedish speech + Swedish subs though, non?

I didn't realise Borgen was back either! Got 3 and 4 recording! Mainly because I'm sort of still yet to get round to season 2...
Well it appears that episode 3 is no longer recording thanks to my family. Really need to move out.
I never got round to watching the first two episodes this week and figured I could download from iPlayer, but they're not offering that option and the streams expire tonight. CRY.

Finally finished Forbrydelsen II today and it was so good. Sarah is still as f***ing amazing as ever. That last scene! <3

(Although admittedly watching this in Danish with Danish subtitles may have left me with many details... not really understood but it was pretty easy to follow regardless (they do like to use 'for fanden' or 'for helvede' (meaning 'for f***'s sake') A LOT ha!))

Does nobody have anything to say about Series 2 of The Bridge? Just two episodes to go and lots of questions unanswered. Good to see Saga getting some great lines to lighten the mood occasionally
