STEPS, who sung their way to success in the 90s along with their dance routines and catchy lyrics, are reuniting for a 6 date mini UK city-centre tour in December 2012. Steps will begin this festive jaunt at the Plymouth Pavilion on Friday 30th November and play in the prestigious London Palladium on Sunday 2nd December finishing up on Wednesday 5th December at Wolverhampton Civic Hall. The tour will give fans a great opportunity to see their favourite pop group in such intimate theatres. Steps will be performing some new festive flavoured songs, some hits that they didn’t perform on their sold out UK Arena tour earlier in the year, as well as some of their most popular crowd pleasers. Steps are also pleased to announce the release of ‘LIGHT UP THE WORLD’, a fantastic collection of winter themed tracks perfect for Christmas – their first release on their own Steps Recordings/Warner Music Artist & Label Services, and their first collection of new recordings for over 10 years. The album is available to pre-order alongside tickets for the tour and will appear on the usual online outlets for pre-order shortly. The album will be released on Monday 12th November 2012. September 24, 201212 yr Will be interesting to see the tracklist. I'd have hoped for a new studio album but this should do fairly well in the meantime, I just hope that the production's good and not cheap sounding. They look great in the promo pics too! I won't be going to the tour as nowhere is particularly near me but hopefully they'll add Say You'll Be Mine and After The Love Has Gone to the setlist, seems like they might going by the press release.
September 24, 201212 yr Author There's a rumour that 'Light Up The World' is a cover of a Christmas track by the Tweenies. :kink: Actually, scratch that. H has tweeted that the song is "brand new". That's a relief!
September 24, 201212 yr Really looking forward to this, but I have doubts as to how successful the single and album will be. I just hope the promo and release is handled correctly, hopefully then it'll do what Michael Buble did last year and completely exceed expectations. I wonder whether Light Up The World will be the only original song on the album? If so then I hope they've managed to get hold of a few obscure covers - Monrose's What You Don't Know for example would be an AMAZING inclusion on the album. I expect they'll go with stuff like Stay Another Day though :(
September 24, 201212 yr Congratlutations to them. They had a sucessful tour and now a new album has been done. Unfortunatley, the market is too heavy for them to complete in November, so it will be down to sales than placings.
September 27, 201212 yr Will be interesting to see how it's gonna do, but I for one am looking forward to it!
September 27, 201212 yr The song might do well since it's their first singles release in 11 years, good promotion may peak top 10.
October 13, 201212 yr Light Up The World has premiered on Radio 2 and can be heard here. The tracklisting for the album has also been released, a surprisingly interesting choice of songs! I haven't heard of most of them before so it'll be like listening to a brand new album for me! 1. History Is Made At Night 2. Overjoyed 3. It May Be Winter Outside 4. One Less Bell To Answer 5. A House Is Not A Home 6. Light Up The World 7. When She Loved Me 8. Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) 9. Please Come Home For Christmas 10. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
October 13, 201212 yr I like it :o Very James Bond, why was Skyfall picked and not this! A x-massy Bond theme? :P
October 13, 201212 yr Love it, instantly catchy/anthemic mid-tempo from them, reminds me a little of Emma's I'll Be There! Also sounds quite 90s but without being a complete pastiche of yesteryear.
October 13, 201212 yr I just hope it can do well for them, most of the songs i dont know either so it will be like brand new for me, i will buy this myself and i look forward to it aswell, a top 10 would be great for them and 100,000 sales overall would be great, anything more would be a bonus.
October 14, 201212 yr The more I hear it the more I also hear shades of Stephen Gately's New Beginning
October 14, 201212 yr I LIKE it, don't quite love it yet, but it's weird how they've gone back to Clare doing most of the lead vocals when that was such an issue for them last time. I do love the middle 8 from the boys though  The best thing is that with Steps and GA coming back (plus lots of current artists like Carly Rae Jepsen) pop is definitely back IN :D
October 14, 201212 yr I thought it was nicely shared out! First verse Faye and Lisa, second verse Claire and then you can hear both H and Lee towards the end.
