It'd be funny if Adele ended up outselling One Direction this week. Even PSY looks likely to outsell them this week. This Sunday's top 5 could end up like this:

01. Rihanna

02. Adele

03. PSY

04. One Direction

05. Ellie Goulding

Four new entries in the top 5!!! It's like 2000 all over again.

I can see this being the case too. Wow! I think this is the first time this year I've been excited by the charts!

Single track pre-orders seem to now show up in the feed for some reason, the same happened with 'Never Tear Us Apart' - if that got as high as #89 and didn't even go top 10 it'll be very interesting to see how high Adele goes.

Adele is at #280 in the US (songs) with Skyfall, just of pre-orders. But I don't understand how it is charting considering it is a single pre-order. How come songs don't chart in the UK when they are up for single pre-orders?

EDIT: Oops, didn't realise it was being discussed a page back.

Actually I'm starting to wonder if the pre-orders will make Adele take the #1 at the last minute :o
Very clever of them to release the 1.30 preview track. Shows what a quality song it is but leaves you wanting more, which should build up pre-orders and anticipation for Friday
Are the pre-orders being counted to the singles chart then because it's a single pre-order rather than EP?

First time I've seen a pre-order show up on the singles chart...presumably this will sell bucket loads when released on Friday. I actually think it could have a chance of toppling Rihanna to #1.

Considering that this week last year Rihanna releasing midweek denied Maroon 5 no.1, it would be ironic indeed if Adele managed to do the same thing to her!

Skyfall up to 84

With a preview and no promo or official anything to the normal public that doesn't live in these forums...

She will DESTROY!

Quite amazing ain't it, considering the majority of people probably don't even know their is a preview out there yet. This should be BIG

iTunes pre-orders ('iTunes Singles' with more than 1 track & 'iTunes EPs') usually appear in the iTunes Albums chart, but occasionally they slip into the iTunes Singles list. When it's a single track 'iTunes Single', it's not supposed to appear in either list, and usually ends up bouncing around between the 2 charts and disappearing/reappearing.

Once released, pre-orders of an 'iTunes single' will get dumped in the iTunes Singles chart, and pre-orders of an EP will get dumped in the iTunes Albums chart, however, everything gets combined in the end.

Skyfall up to 84

Watch it disappear/reappear all week until Friday, as iTunes trys to figure out which list it should appear in - Songs or Albums

Toto - Africa

This is where Ja Rule got his sample from isn't it?

Also is Shaggy - It Wasn't Me in the iTunes chart now? it was used/mentioned during The Big Fat Quiz Of The 00's on Channel 4 last night.

Don't you mean Jason Derulo?

This is shaping up to be one of the most interesting chart weeks this year...will definitely be an exciting chart to listen to this Sunday!

I'm backing Rihanna & Adele for top 2 this week!

This is shocking. Has the British lost slight intrest in 1D?

Serves them right for spending so long in the States!!

Don't you mean Jason Derulo?

And JoJo - Anything  But yeah also Fight For You!

Don't you mean Jason Derulo?

Both did. Ja Rule sampled it in Murder Reigns. Also, Xzibit, Wiz Khalifa and Nas have sampled the song before.
