I've always thought they're the new 411, I wonder if this single will be their 'Teardrops'...

LOL! As soon as I heard they were doing this song the first thing I thought was that they had 411ed themselves.

Now that I've heard it I think it is quite a terrible cover! Oh well! Black Heart will be their Dumb if they do indeed end up like them (in a sense of people will remember that song for a while)

I actually really like their cover! I think it will do fairly well, unlike 411, this song is greatly loved and a cover didn't stop the likes of Ellie Goulding, Adele, Florence + The Machine etc. from doing good. It won't be as big as 'Black Heart' but they'll get the support from Radio 1 and Capital easily, so it should be another Top 10 for them I reckon.

I am not sure because Adele and Florence's covers brought that song to a new audience, and Ellie's version of 'Your Song' was very different from Elton's, whereas this is a very well known song, not sung that differently from the original. I like their version and the video, but I think its a bit pointless releasing it as a single to be frank, as people can just download the original.

Yeah I see what you mean and I obviously would've preffered new material but this is decent enough. Probably too safe in some respects, I think Heart FM will eat it up, their album will hopefully / probably be alot more diverse.
I really like this cover - although it doesn't add anything particularly new - and the video is simple but interesting enough to keep one entertained throughout I think. The appearance of TLC at the end is a nice touch too.

I wouldn't compare this Stooshe release with The 411's situation. Perhaps if The 411 had released a cover ballad as a third single, rather than their rather moody & non-commercial original, they'd have fared better. (Incidentally, The 411 covered SWV's 1993 hit 'Weak'!). I actually really liked 'Teardrops', but I wasn't shocked at the time that it flopped. Was such a shame how their album performed. :(

I don't think the fact 'Waterfalls' is a well known song will inhibit Stooshe. Generalising here, but I assume a lot of the younger generation won't be fully aware of 'Waterfalls' or even know about TLC, while others will consider it a nice trip down memory lane. After all, it is fast approaching 20 years since the original 'Waterfalls'.

So nice to see Chilli & T-Boz in the video. It's almost like they're passing on the baton to Stooshe, lol.

I do wish that they'd done an original for the 3rd single like I said, but as mentioned it's a great cover anyway and I suppose it's true that covers didn't harm Ellie, Florence, Adele etc. I don't think they'll be like The 411 at all, I'm not saying they'll have #1s or anything and I don't even think they'll ever top Black Heart but I think they could be the Sugababes to Little Mix's Girls Aloud (obviously both on a lesser scale but you get the point).
I guess they just chickened out and did a cover, but I think their original material is awesome, black heart is amazing

There is nothing wrong with them doing a cover, not only does it pass the song on to a new generation but it's also a good cover & even TLC like it. Does anyone know as of yet whether they are relasing it as a Double A-side?

Judging by the artwork, it seems it's just going to be 'Waterfalls' on its own? Unless they're changing the concept of a Double A side for the digital era and having separate artwork for the other song, and release them at the same time. That'd be different!

Here's the cover:

I'm really liking their cover now! "Love Me" was pretty dire, "Black Heart" was AMAZING and this is very good! I'm not that familiar with the original (I do know some TLC songs though), but I'll definitely check it out!

That's definitely a placeholder, they can't go from the amazing Waterfall and Black Heart covers to THAT?!
